El Pollo Loco

My first time at this location and it was perfect. I used the drivethru and they were really quick and got my order perfectly right. This is my go to el Pollo Loco while the one on Monterey rd at the plant is closed

I go here a lot and love the food. Hpwever, the last few time I have went I was extremely disappointed and disgusted! I went and ordered the bowl and middle of eating it I found a long black piece of hair in my cilantro sauce. It was disgusting. Another time I went maybe a week or two later, again, another hair in my food. This time it was all the way at the bottom of my bowl!!! I ate most of my food before finiding the disgust! I almost vomitted!!! Called the restaurant and of course all they did was apologize but only allowed me to get another bowl for free if I came in that night. My appetite was completely gone and I was pissed this happened twice. I was cool off the place and about a month later my boyfriend and I decided, okay lets go back and get some. NO! I ate some of my food and found plastic inside the food!!! Plastic about the size of a quarter and thick like 5 quarters. Im soooooo cool off El Pollo Loco on Coleman. They are closed for remodel right now but they need hair nets and a whole other type of remodel up in there. Dont go here, pick another one, obviously people are careless here when preparing the food. Your food may have spit in it for all you know

I went there for lunch today — drive thru. I ordered the double chicken avocado salad. I asked to try the citrus vinegarette dressing, along with the cilantro one that I requested with my meal. They charged me $.40 for the half-​filled container of dressing. They did not tell me the dressing was extra $$. In addition, every piece of chicken on the salad had gristle on it. For a low-​calorie lunch, I would expect all white meat with no fat or gristle. I will not go back to this location again. I’ve tried the location in Tracy, CA which was really good. This location – not so good.

Talkin fast food here: When I want a good burger, it’s an easy answer: In N Out. If I want a chicken sandwich, there’s nothing like good old Chik Fil A. But more than often, I get cravings for flame broiled chicken. And you know what that means? The Crazy Chicken time!!!
I love their creamy cilantro dressing, chile lime shrimp, their healthy option menu, salsa bar, and of course the citrus marinated flame broiled chicken. Oh and the corn with spicy butter! So good!
This location specifically can get busy (especially the parking lot), but never over-​crowded. The workers are ALWAYS courteous and professional, and generally clean including the restroom.
One of my favorite fast food chains so it warrants a Unilocal review, but I don’t really think of it as fast food. That’s why it’s up there on my list and it’s the only regular fast food joint I frequent. Raised in San Jose, I grew up on Vietnamese and Mexican food. I always see Mexicans eating here, and you know that’s a good sign. After all, this restaurant has roots in Mexico.

First time at this place, wasn’t expecting much since it is fast food. Had heard good things about it, though come to think of it that may have been on tv from their own commercial. I don’t have a lot to say, I don’t want to be rude, but honestly… if you’re going to serve mashed potatoes & gravy, it should contain potatoes. And if you’re going to serve mashed potatoes & gravy that are so liquid that a person couldn’t reasonably eat them with a fork, give out spoons, not just forks. But ew.

This place fkn sucks! First time I came here they didn’t not have any sauces. The girl didn’t bother refilling it. Second time here, which is right now, the chicken isn’t ready and it will be 15 mins! It’s fkning dinner time! Get it together!
Go to the one on story! Cleaner, friendlier and way way better! Food tastes fresher too!

Ordinarily, this branch gives quality products. But today of all days, Super Bowl Sunday, what I got was a bunch of unseasoned, dried out, burned chicken. I was told by the manager, Josephine, that this is because their oven was broken and had to grill everything. She promised me a replacement next time I come in. In the meantime, I’m stuck with an inedible product! Not happy!

So to start off I’ve never had a problem until Monday 01÷12÷16 I order a 12pc family meal I live 6 min away so the food can’t get cold that quick I get home ready to serve the family tell me why the chicken was cold and pink inside and slimy so then I called and let them know if there serving raw food or it’s food that’s not made the same day so they claim there food is made the same day and couldn’t give me a reason why the chicken was cold the only back up they had was that the flames were prob low which don’t make sense unfortunately I couldn’t go back so the manager said to come the next day to get a free 8pc not 12 but 8pc and two side so…
The next day 01÷12÷16 I go get my food and chicken was good not cold or raw or slimy tell me why inside the Mac and cheese there was black things inside it wasn’t food and it sure had nothing to do with Mac and cheese I honestly didn’t want to call back because they prob think I was lying or trying to get free food as well I am busy with my three kids and home so don’t have time to be driving back and forth wasting my gas if I’m writing this review it’s for people that come here and to see how the place is just check for your food that it ain’t raw or that there ain’t nothing inside it if I gave it a two star it’s because I never had a problem Until this past TWO days. So annoyed but management never helps I even emailed them and no response oh well next time I’ll make my own well cooked clean chicken lesson learned

The food was ok.
There was zombies in the lobby just loitering.
Didn’t get my full order.
And more importantly… the customer service sucked beans.

Great location! Tons of parking. Very clean restaurant. Very fast and friendly service. A little noisy at times but overall wonderful

Can they ever get it right? 4 out of 5 times I come here, when I use the drive-​thru, they get the order wrong. Something is either missing, or prepare not as requested. I’ve tried ordering in English and Spanish, and it doesn’t seem to make a difference. Tonight, for example, I ordered six Tacos al Carbon – with no onions and extra cilantro – and when I got home, they had lots of onions and no cilantro. I asked for creamy cilantro dressing on the side, and they gave me an avocado spicy sauce instead. This kind of error is typical. I’ve even true ordering straight off the menu, without adding or removing something, and there would still be errors. Jeez! I love the food here, which is why I keep going back, but how many times to I have to be disappointed before I figure it out?

Fast-​food chain restaurant specializing in Mexican-​style, fire-​grilled chicken. They are located along Coleman Ave right off the 87 freeway in a shopping plaza, and have a drive-​thru! The plaza can be hard to enter as it’s quite small & often busy, but not to the point that it’s a detractor.
I’ve been grabbing lunch here almost once a week for the past few months (I’m addicted, I’ll admit it). However, lately, I haven’t seen the super nice guy who used to work there. In addition, I’ve noticed a drop in their service as well — forgotten receipts/​utensils/​salsa, and under-​cooked, hard rice. Nothing major, but still :(
The food is still good — I like getting the 2 or 3 piece chicken combo (which comes with a soft drink + 2 sides), or their $ 5 bowls. Their meals are always hearty and filling.

Fast friendly service! Never had any problems with my order. Food is always fresh and good!

I always use the drive through as i am always a busy mother working way to much.
I have never had any issues, and I never order whats there, I have to have them customize my order, and they get it right every time.
Thank you for getting me back into my life to keep moving without problems. Lunch shouldn’t be a big deal, but it is as important as breakfast.

One star for even getting food at all. For the over 6 minute wait in the drive thru and the lovely 2 tortillas they gave me with my family meal. 2 tortillas… not equivalent to 2 stars… 2 tortillas, was there a shortage this evening?

This was my first time eating at El Pollo Loco and I would say I had a 5 star experience!
ATMOSPHERE:
As soon as I walked in, it was packed but it wasn’t noisy. The restaurant itself was clean and the condiments were neat. The empty tables were all cleaned up and El Pollo Loco being a fast food restaurant, it was sanitary.
FOOD:
The food was GREAT. I ordered the 2 combo meal which consisted of a leg and a thigh. It was flavorful and it came with chips and 2 sides (both of which were your choice). I ordered rice and corn for my sides. The corn tasted different than the usual. I was expecting buttered corn like what you could get at Popeye’s. The rice itself wasn’t that great. I would compare it with microwavable rice. The chips and the spicy avocado dip complemented each other which I highly suggest!
CUSTOMER SERVICE:
The customer service at this place was great! I stood in line looking at the menu and see what I should get and the manager said hello. I asked the cashier what’s popular here since it was my first time. I asked him how big each pieces were and he went to the kitchen and got two pieces and showed me which I thought was excellent. He was really nice and we had a quick small chat.
I would definitely recommend this place if you love chicken. I’ll come back in the future to try out other things here!

I stayed away from this place for a long time (read previous review). After hearing from my sis
that the new staff was really nice I decided to give it another try. I am glad things have changed ! Service is fairly fast and staff is always nice. There is one employee a guy I think his name is Isaias G (that is what my receipt said) He is great always happy and seems to love his job. For this and other reasons like delicious chicken I come here like twice a week.!!
If you want healthy i suggest chicken and tons of broccoli, trust me i am not much of a broccoli fan but Pollo Loco’s is yummy !

This is for the Drive Thru Only: I have never been inside! The drive thru goes quickly, the staff is friendly and nice, and the food is yummy. When I am on the «go» and need something quick, this is my go to spot. I have never waited for long periods, they never screw up on my order, and the food is good. I usually order the chicken salad and with a large light lemonade. The drive thru person helped me save money by having me order meals instead of «a la carte».

I like El Pollo. On the fast food spectrum, it’s a little better than average, which is not saying much but my expectations are already low as it is.
Tonight was another story. I needed a quick bite after a long day. Not hungry enough to go to a sit down, too lazy to cook.
1) food was cold.
2) cashier (Maricela) was rude
A jobless guy was ahead of me and wanted a dollar. Ok, fine whatever. I’ll give you a buck. You’re kind of annoying, but not rude or intimidating. Also, people get hungry. The cashier started berating him about why he didn’t have a job.
Seriously? Is it your business? The guy told her places didn’t want to hire him because of his beard (religious reasons).
She had the nerve to say he needs to cut it off regardless. That he needs to cut it off to work. That other people won’t give him money. What the actual f. Shut up! You’re not exactly at the top of the employment food chain either.
When it was my turn to order, I hesitated for a second and she went bon qi qi on me «are you ready to order?!». Woah. Chill out.
BTW, you told another customer the survey code was only supposed to be 4 digits with an attitude like he was gaming the system. I dislike her enough to take that damn survey and I got a 5 digit.
+1 star for all the other good employees. Shame on you Maricela. Religious intolerance is bigotry.

Really good service and clean restaurant for the most part. The carne asada tosatada was a major disappointment with the meat feeling chewy and rubbery. The chicken is excellent but the portions are really small. If you want to lose weight at a fast food restaurant, this is the place to go. One bite into a drumstick and almost half of your chicken is gone. The macaroni and cheese side was good. The new corn is average.
The salsa bar is always a fun place to go. The pico de gallo and the salsa taste the same.
