we used this agency once in San Jose. We chose them as they were close to the neighborhood and I liked that a nurse was present in the office, and sure she would
understand the post-​op needs of our dad. First visit, assessment, was fair. We requested
a male caregiver, who was to arrive with her. He arrived very late after we waited quite some time. We had also been specific about hard of hearing needs and requested
someone that could speak the language clearly to be sensitive around this. Needs not met.
Disappointed. Homecare is a competitive business, cannot say we would choose them again.

We were referred to FSHC by our local adult care center. They said those in the care of the FSHC staff always came in clean, well fed, well cared for, and in good spirits. I called FSHC for an appt. and they sent a representative within hours, and by that night we had a caregiver on duty. We’ve had night alert care providers for 3 months now, and they have all been excellent. The office staff is always professional, courteous, and very helpful. The in home caregivers have not only helped us by assisting Grandpa at night, but also helped us better understand his needs so we can be better caregivers during the day. We highly recommend FSHC!!!

We were referred to Familiar Surroundings Home Care by a family friend who is currently using their home care service. The Care Manager responded to the hospital within an hour of our telephone conversation. We were immediately releived and felt very comfortable with the Care Manager and the explanation of the services that would be provided. The Care Manager assisted with the transition from hospital to home (no additional fees), making this very stressful transition effortless. There are so many little extras that are done and there are no extra fees. A very pleasant caregiver was at the home waiting for us when we arrived. The care provided to my dad has been exceptional. The caregiver has helped him regain some of the independence he lost due to the stroke, encouraging him to do as much for himself as possible but being there to support him if needed. This is a family owned and operated business, I like the fact that my questions are addressed promply at a local level. There are so many wonderful things to say about Familiar Surroundings Home Care. I am so grateful we were referred to them.

We contacted them off a Hospice list. Within hours they had a representative at the house. Hours later the real test occurred. The first woman was not fully trained for the complications at hand with my dying Mother in law. Once they were notified of the issue they instantly fixed the problem and sent us a well trained angel by the name of Sandra Scott. The woman had close to 20 years experience with the terminally ill. She took charge and made everyone comfortable with a sincere and pleasant demeanor. Their management staff including the owner Laura Wentling are accessible and flexible. If you are in a situation like we were I would strongly recommend the company.
