Been coming to Dr. Zarnegar for many years now, last year I went to another optometrist that my insurance had covered and he gave me a new prescription but I still was not seeing well. I came back to Dr. Zarnegar and she advised me I had been overprescribed with contacts that were too strong for me, she gave me new contacts and now I can see more clearly than ever… She is very professional and helpful, I will definitely be coming back to her!

She gave me the wrong prescription the first time, went back for another exam, no apologies or acknowledgment of her mistake! Had 2 sets of glasses remade, they are still wrong. Have to go back a third time now, I expect better when it comes to Costco, even though she does not work for Costco!

Dr. Zolnegar is rude, impatient, unfriendly and generally not a people person. She did not wash her hands before she touched my eyes and that is totally unacceptable. She never has enough trial contacts too which is really annoying when you are trying out a new product and can only wear at a time. How is anyone supposed to decide if a new brand is right after trying only one lense at a time. Ridiculous. Never again

This was my first visit to the optometrist. Trusting Costco’s recommendations and general value, and not having vision insurance, I decided to see Dr. Zarnegar, who is located inside the Costco Warehouse on Almaden Expressway. Like I said, I’d never been to the eye dr. before. I just knew I was squinting and having difficulty seeing things far & close up. Things were not explained to me, and I didn’t ask, because I kept thinking the next person, or later, the doctor, would. No one did. I didn’t know if I should get an eye exam, have my eyes dilated or what. The fact that they were asking me, led me to believe I should know this. The benefits or each procedure offered weren’t explained, and I wasn’t asked questions to help me decide which was applicable or necessary. Dr. Zarnegar went through the slides SO fast, it was hard to decipher which was better, or what I was even looking at.(this or this… this or this…) A couple of times I asked her to show me again, and I could tell she was annoyed. I left with a written prescription with no direction of how to best fill it, what kind of glasses to get or any other direction. I asked my sister, who has worn glasses for many years, and who has seen Dr. Zarnegar too, about her experience. She said it was about the same, but she has learned to make the dr. slow down and answer questions. I would rather go to a proactive dr. who isn’t just treating me link a bulk customer.
