I have never gone to a chiropractor before Dr. Hirose, because I was really afraid I would get into the cycle of needing to be «adjusted». I had heard of friends who were constantly going it seemed, for«adjustments» and it just bugged me that once I got to a chiropractor that would be my life going forward. However, I got to a point with back pain where I was feeling pretty depressed and miserable and I really needed help. I looked up the options that were sent my way from my insurance, and Dr. Hirose was on the list. The 5 star Unilocal review did actually sway me to check her out, and I am SO thankful for Unilocal and the previous review — because she is honestly SUPERAWESOME. First of all, her office is located in the shopping plaza where Giorgio’s Italian Food is, and she is wedged between Starbucks and the Karate school next door. Her office isn’t top dollar looking, but honestly — she doesn’t need it to be, because its the knowledge and skills she has as a doctor that are current and top notch. She immediately, without me bringing any xrays, could identify what some of the core issues were. I explained my nervousness and wariness with getting into an «adjustment» loop and she was really frank with me about how that isn’t ever the intention of treatment. She outlined her goals with corrections I needed, and explained how she could help and we moved forward with the visit.(btw, I did eventually get xrays with my main doctor/hospital and everything Dr. Hirose pointed out without xrays was totally on target!!) The visit entailed some techniques that I can’t describe well, but there were some tapping and movements with chiropractor gadgets she had that did some relief that I could feel. The first visit is, of course, a bit longer to go over the issues but once you go more than one time, the actual time with her is about 10−15mins. THENCOMESTHESUGAR !!! You get a MASSAGE !!! Holy Heck !!! Talk about the things missing in my life !! After getting adjusted, I was given a 40 min massage focusing specifically on the areas that I needed some aide with, and I could have danced out of there after my appointment. For the first time in MONTHS I finally felt a relief, a break from the constant pain. And, it didn’t end. The relief truly lasted me about two weeks, and then it returned but significantly less — I would have tolerated it except this time I knew I had support. I knew there was something I could do to help myself and continue to feel better. I went for about a month and half, and at the end of it I was feeling truly significantly immeasurably better. The only reason at all that I return is because I currently have a 20lb one year old son who I need to pick up and carry, and after many weeks of doing this, plus sitting in a bad nursery chair holding him at night that I need to replace, my back just kinks out and gets achy again. I know without a doubt, that if I was in a situation in my life where I was just keeping fully healthy and doing normal every day things I wouldn’t need to return again — but I am a super super happy client now. Everything is covered except my copay, and for a small amount of adjustments + the massage… its definitely a «mama’s treat» for me to get away once a month to get«adjusted» *wink* :) Tip about the massaging: Dr. Hirose has a big variety of massage folks who help her out and they range from being super gentle to more firm. If you let Dr. Hirose know BEFORE your appointment what kind of range your level of touch is, you are more likely to get paired with the right massage buddy. We did more of a testing in person, before I was able to find the right mix in one of the staff — but I think it would save time if you knew what your tolerance was before going. There are also mixed gender massage folks, so if that is important to you please specify in advance. Another thing, she is right next door to the karate studio and the kids can get pretty loud during their practicing. They do play music to drown it out, but just know that’s part of the environment package when you go. :) Dr.Hirose is knowledgeable, kind, easy to talk to and a great chiropractor.

I was never a big believer in chiropractors. I got in an accident in 2000 and literally could not move my head. I was desprate and that is where my story begins. After my first apptmt I was so happy I could have cried. I could actually turn my head; however, the rest of my shoulders and spine still needed more work. I was worried because so many people told me «they get you hooked and they you can never stop going!». That has never been the case with Dr, Hirose. After I finished my program of treatments, I wa done. A year and a day after my 1st accident, you guessed it, I was rear ended again. Needless to say, my shoulders and back we right back to pain central. Once again Dr. H helped me and all has been well ever since. As you can imagine, I have spent quite a bit of time with this lady. I like her persoanlly and her professionalism. She runs a clean establishment. There has never been any billing issues with getting my insurance through, etc. I do on occassion need to come in to get my back or neck realigned, but that is due to the joys of life — carrying my lovely daughter and zumba class. Thanks Dr. Hirose — I think you are great!
