Mistakes happen, I get it. Just fix it. Not a big deal. This was not the case today. I stopped in today to purchase a Smoked Turkey Breast. It didn’t look smoked, so I asked the clerk if it was smoked, she assured me that it was. When I got to my car, I tasted a piece. It was not smoked. I walked back into the store and explained that it was not smoked, but roasted. She again told me it was smoked. I explained that I had tried it and that it WASNOTSMOKED. She insisted that it was. Rather than continue arguing with the original clerk, plus now an additional girl, I left. I tried it again and immediately called the store. NOW she says she can exchange it – after I am halfway home. No thanks. I am already irritated. I am a fan of Honey Baked Ham and Turkey. Arguing with a customer when you are in the wrong, not cool. Boooooo

HoneyBaked Headquarters, I had an extremely unpleasant experience today with your company. I called the Winchester Blvd store in San Jose, CA today — Nov 10, 2015 — to order«The HoneyBaked Glazed Oven Roasted Whole Turkey». My confirmation #230T A woman answered the phone(my understanding is her name is «Eileen» and her supervisors name is Mauricio.(call was made at 1:22pm). This woman was extremely rude and unprofessional. She had a snappy attitude, was eating while talking to me on the phone, and was overall very unpleasant. She acted like a spoiled teenager or young adult who is not happy with her job. I stopped my order and asked her, if this was a bad time for her and why she was speaking to me that way. She cut me off and didn’t let me finish, and adjusted her attitude immediately(while continuing to chew food or something else). At this point, I continued to order. Whoever this girl is at the Winchester location, she needs to be trained properly. My family and I have been shopping at HoneyBaked for years! And to date, she has been the worst representative of your brand and company. So much that it’s making me rethinking ordering from you again and simply choosing an alternative. There is really no excuse for an experience like this. I would like someone to review this and respond to me directly with how you plan to address this complaint. Thank you for your time, Lisa ps. I am also seeing a second person who just posted a poor experience with her on Unilocal.Same day, around the same time. I sure hope you will be addressing this immediately. 750-A Winchester Blvd, San Jose, CA95128 11.3 miles away (408) 247‑1501

I purchased the sampler combination for 4 people which included ham slices, turkey slices and beef ribs in sauce with 2 sides. If you have big eaters, this is not the one to choose. The meat was good however the 2 sides were terrible. I chose stuffing and mashed sweet potatoes which had mini marsh mellows. The stuffing was watery and the sweet potato was not tasty and had chunks of sweet potato mixed in. I also purchased cranberry cornbread mix and the cornbread fell apart when you took it out of the pan. The service was fine. Next time I would just get meat but no sides.

I have purchased many delicious and overpriced items throughout the years at this store and I have had good experiences with the employees despite waiting in long lines at times. I preordered a 10-pound ham and picked up the day before Easter Sunday. A slightly overweight female with a crappy attitude is at the counter and hands me a plastic bag to hold so that she can place the ham in it. She yells, «Don’t let it touch the counter!». I said, «What? Don’t let what touch the counter?». She did not answer. I have no idea what she meant by that and that is the very first time I was asked to hold the bag. I continue wondering what she meant to this day… Yep, franchised-owned. Let’s see if the owners respond because the customer service is getting worse. I bet they don’t respond, they don’t care as long as they make a profit. I can hear them laughing all the way to the bank.

Just got off the phone after calling in to reserve a ham for easter. The woman I spoke to had no customer service skills. They only had a limited amount of sizes to choose from already. She gave my reservation number without explaining what it was(it was 2 numbers and one letter, I was a bit thrown off) when I asked what that was she said«that’s your reservation number sweetheart! «In a very condescending tone. Excuse me? So rude. Honestly I’d prefer to make the ham myself but my grandma really likes it. I think they are overpriced considering you can get a much larger ham for a fraction of the price at the grocery store and make it taste almost just as good. In the past I’ve ordered in advance and when I go to pick it up its a mad house and they are totally unorganized. Last time I had my reservation number ready and they said they don’t even need it which I thought was pretty strange.

Just got off the phone with this place these people have no customer service skills whatsoever! I asked the lady if I should write down the confirmation number and she said that would be smart(in a very rude tone) then she hung up on me!!! My family has been ordering hams and turkeys from this place for years and they lost long loyal customers today. What a joke!!!

The ham and turkey were great. But they fail to tell you that in order to get the small ham and turkey you need to preorder it, even though online it tells you that you can buy it at the store at that price stated online. So after waiting in line I make it to the front only to be told that the small sizes are only available if I had preordered it. WTF… That my only issue with this company… The food is great.

I write many reviews good and bad. This story had to be told. I’ve eaten Honey Baked ham at many parties. It always varied, the one time it was good it had a crunchy sweet coating of sugar stuck to the ham. I’m sure this is what made them famous because without it, it’s just a ham. This was my first in store experience. I arrived 20 minutes after opening. The first thing I noticed was how dirty the front door was, then I stepped inside and my shoes stuck to the floor. The brown floor was actually black. I’ve worked in the restaurant business and this kind of sticky mess would take weeks to build up. Then I glanced over at the glass that would cover food from coughing and it was smeared with a very dirty cloth. When I got to the counter it too was sticky. I gave the cashier my order number and she pointed out to me that they were out of one of the side dishes. They had only just opened how could they be out already? They grabbed all our food from the refrigerator bagged it and handed it to me. Good thing I asked for the reheating instructions otherwise I would not have received them. I drove straight home and put it all in the refrigerator. Christmas day I did the easy prep work. As I carefully removed the ham from the foil package 100% of the sugar coating was stuck to the foil, really stuck. The ham had no coating at all! Now, I love salt but could barely swallow the creamed spinach it was so salty. The pie we received for desert tasted like a refrigerator not like a pumpkin cheese cake. I was picking this up for someone. If it would have been for me, I would have left when my shoes stuck to the floor. I’d be scared to see what the kitchen looked like! Why anyone would return a second time after seeing that sticky mess is beyond me!

I went to this location twice in a two week span. First time, I waited in a long line with only two employees helping customers. I wanted a ham but was told I had to preorder at least a day in advance unless I buy the 15 pound ham. She told me they only do preorders on the hams. So, I bought a turkey instead because I had no interest to come back the next day to stand in line again. Second visit was about a week later with similar experiences of waiting in line. 3 employees and probably about 10 customers deep. It took awhile. I get up to the counter with preordering my Christmas meal in mind. The employee told me I DIDNOT need to preorder my ham and that he had a ham for me now. The hams can sit in the refrigerator for 7 – 10 days. But I wanted a slightly smaller ham. He kept pushing the bigger ham. He also did not honor the Internet prices. His reasoning was that they were franchised so the Internet prices do not apply. After my recent experiences here, I can definitely tell you I will think twice before getting a ham for a big meal. If I am ever in the need of a precooked meal again, I will either go somewhere else or try a different location.

Great ham, and turkey! My family loves this ham for the holidays. It is really sweet, and is perfectly cut to make serving so much easier. I did have to wait in a long line, that went outside of the store and into the parking lot. I was just thinking, it is worth the time and I will do this for my family. Everyone in line is patiently waiting too. I was able to order by phone, and just picked it up.

Honeybaked Ham is an odd lunchtime experience but their sandwiches are awesome, and inexpensive too. I pulled up to the store and there was a palette of cardboard boxes labeled«smoked turkey breast» on the sidewalk in front of the store. That’s quirk #1. I guess everywhere gets deliveries, but you don’t usually see them left out so prominently. They were gone when I left so I’m guessing I arrived at just the right time to see them. When I walked inside the store… nothing happened. There were three people standing behind the counter, but they didn’t flinch. Quirk #2. One guy was working hard wrapping up meat and after a few awkward moments he said someone would be right with me. The two ladies just ignored me. I tried to break the ice by asking for a sandwich menu — that’s quirk #3 — there’s no menu board and there were no menus stacked or otherwise available to customers. I didn’t know what or how to order. After they handed me a paper menu, I asked for my sandwich on a croissant, but they were out of sandwich-sized croissants. Quirk #4. Not a problem — sliced sandwich bread was fine. I went with a classic ham sandwich, with lettuce, tomato, mayo and Honeybaked’s awesome honey mustard. My sandwich was great. I love those thick juicy pieces of ham. So good. Try finding another offering in the area even half as good for $ 4.99. You can’t. Great deal, nice people, a little quirky but so simple and so good. Adding to the regular rotation.

I pre-ordered for thanksgiving because no one wanted to cook in my family this year and I decided to order to reserve it. The ham was FANTASTIC(as always) but the turkey tasted like ham? It did not taste any different from each other which was disappointing. The line to pick it up the day before thanksgiving wasn’t so bad. It was about a 1 hour wait total. I did notice a lot of people getting upset because they couldn’t come and just get a ham that was under 10 pounds THEDAYBEFORETHANKSGIVING. Come on people. They have those reserved for people who pre-ordered. If you wanted one that was small, just pre-order next year. I felt bad for the workers who were getting yelled at because people couldn’t understand the concept of pre-ordering. Anyway. Good ham. Don’t get the turkey.

Website has quarter pound hams for $ 27 but once you have stood in line for 45 minutes, you find out your only option is to buy a ten pound ham thats $ 77 because you have to have a reservation for the quarter pound ham. You can’t do this online or in store, you have to call the main office. Best part? There’s no information about this«reservation» on the website. Shady shady business practices… Honeybaked has lost another customer.

Horrible phone experience. I started calling at about 11am, and I kept getting a busy tone. So I gave I some time and then again busy tone. Finally I got someone to answer and I was on hold for 12 minutes before I had to hang up. Called back 15 minutes later and still was asked to be place on hold… Waiting another 10 minutes! At this point I was furious. Third try with a human answering and I asked politely to receive a call back once they had time and she replied we don’t do call backs so you’ll need to continue to hold??? Who has time for all that I’ve been holding for hours!

Just for lunch: The meat is great, especially the ham and turkey, and the meal combo for lunch is a great value. However, the sandwiches and salads are a little more basic than a true sandwich place. Also, they always seem to be understaffed or not used to people coming in for lunch. They are always happy to personalize your order, but don’t expect to run in and out.

Just picked up a mini gourmet combo from the HBH store. I came in during my lunch break, so there weren’t that many customers in the store. I was greeted right away by Jose who was very friendly and helpful. PROs: — The meats and sides here are tasty! My favorite is the oven baked turkey with the crusty glaze, but also notable are the infamous honey baked ham and the prime rib. Sides I’ve tried were all good, but I recommend the cheesy potatoes and creamed corn. — Service was great, and they were generous about giving samples to try. I was able to try the prime rib, both kinds of turkey(smoked and oven baked), and 4 of the sides; I didn’t even have to ask to try any of this. As soon as I hesitated about what I wanted to buy, Jose just grabbed a bunch of samples left and right for me to try. CONs: — I think they just need to package the ham a little better so the juices don’t get all over the place. — Would be nice if they had smaller combos available for sale; I’d recommend only buying stuff from here if you’re getting a sandwich for yourself or if you’re eating with at least 7 other people. I balked a little bit at the pricing at first, but when I think about how they pretty much sold me 15 lbs of food for $ 4.2/lb, it doesn’t seem so bad. If you buy the ham, you’ll be left with the hambone when you’re done eating it. They sell kits here so that you can make soups or chili with your hambone afterwards! :)

The assistant manager Rose needs to be fired right this second.(if only Rose is her real name). She doesn’t even deserve this one star to be honest! The story began when my husband tried to place an order for the upcoming thx giving. The combination of the accent of the employee(not blaming her for that) and his phone breaking up caused my husband to doubt the order was placed correctly, so I call the next day to verify the order. The assistant manager«ROSE» picked up the phone and I told her my confirmation no, she said my husband ordered 4 whole turkeys… which is of course not true… unless you have Sumo coming for dinner. So I told her I want the«gourmet combo» that I saw online. She didn’t say ok or not and went ahead gave me a new confirmation no. She said it so quickly that I didn’t catch the no at all so I asked her to repeat it… and she grew so impatient that I can hear she *sigh* *sigh* on the other side of the phone(bear in mind at that time our conversation has not even exceeded 1 min) After I got the confirmation no, I proceed to ask her how much is the total order and she said the«retail price». «So how much is the retail price» I asked, and Rose replied so impatiently«I don’t know» really? You are the so called assistant manager and you don’t know the price of the product u are selling? At that point I just don’t wanna bother and asked to cancel all the order and just order online. I told her«you guys don’t know how to take order» and she was so mad and told me «you don’t know how to place order» heck yeah I don’t! That’s why I was asking all the question that you don’t have the patient and knowledge to answer. Anyway the most ridiculous thing is when I asked what her name is, she just hung up the phone on me! What kind of customer service is this? Do yourself a favor! DONOT order from this store unless you expect to finish placing your order in 1 min!!!
