Me and my friends decided we wanted to go to a nice relaxing restaurant before we went out. Just some place we could chat, relax, and be ourselves. I think we found just the place with this restaurant. We got table in a room all to ourselves and the décor made it seem like we were eating at a friends house. Very cozy indeed. We decided to try the special of the day with a bottle of Tempranillo, which is a spanish wine. The special was Arroz Con Pollo, a traditional Spanish and Latin American Dish. Its basically chicken with rice. It also had bell peppers, tomatoes, garlic, and cheese. It really was delicious and spicy but not too spicy. It also came with a side of salad. Everything was really good and we really felt like we were in a good coma but we just couldn’t resist getting dessert. I had Tropical Sorbet, which was nice and cool, and my friend had cheesecake. The chef even came and talked to us to make sure we enjoyed everything. It seemed like he was worried if we were going to like the food, but we assured him everything was good. Since it was a brand new restaurant he just wanted to make sure we were happy. The service was excellent and it was like eating at a family dinner. We even got offered seconds! Where else are you gonna find that!!! There were a few weird moments, like the Chef walking around barefoot and the waitress had her dog. It even seemed like the chef and the waitress were grappling in the back. I was going to give this restaurant 5 stars but then an «incident» happened that made me bring it back to four. I guess it all adds to the image the restaurant was trying to project. Okay that last paragraph was kinda an inside joke, It really was the perfect start to our evening.

Upon entering this restaurant, I was warmly welcomed by the hostess. I was directed to the«waiting area» while the table was being prepped for us. This waiting area seemed more like a living room(comfy couch, huge plasma television, large coffee table with glass coasters that contained little photos of the restaurant’s staff). Waiting there felt more like I was hanging out in someone’s living. I was impressed with the laid back feel of this restaurant. I always ask what is the special of the day. One can never go wrong with the special of the day. But, at this place, it was Arroz con Pollo. I was quite hesitant to order this since every time I ordered this anywhere, I have been disappointed. The chef David came out to even assure me that I wouldn’t be making a mistake if I ordered this dish. So, I said, fine, if the chef came out to tell me it’s GOOD… it better be beyond good, but orgasmic! The dish arrives and it doesn’t appear to be the arroz con pollo I’ve had served to me in other places. This one actually didn’t look soupy. And, upon first bite, I was in love. This is the BEST Arroz con Pollo my taste buds have ever encountered. I cleaned up my plate and was even tempted to get seconds(chef surprised me by offering a little more if I wanted… where the hell can you find service and treatment like that… nowhere but at Marie’s Bella Cucina). After the main course, I got a cheesecake sampler which is comprised of four mini cheesecake slices w/a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream. Although I was full at this point, I made myself make room for dessert… yes, the glutton I am! =) Service and attention at Marie’s Bella Cucina is top-notch. I’d definitely be returning. I know this restaurant will be a success. I just wish this restaurant was closer to me… but maybe it’s a good thing, it’s not that close, or else I’d be looking like a hiefer in no time. Thank you, David & Marie for a fine dinner. See you again soon. I can’t wait to try your next special of the evening.
