Michi

I wish I can give this place 0 stars… I was down the street when i saw Michi on Unilocal.They had good ratings which was why I stopped by! Waited and waited to get service… The chef/​waitress saw us, greeted us AFTER I kept staring at her and then proceed to go on doing whatever she wants doing. Took a total of what felt like 30 minutes just to order. I should’ve got up and left… The rolls came out super small and wasn’t tasty! I guess I shouldn’t expect much from a Casio restaurant but food and good service is always key regardless of where you are! Never coming back :(
Pricey foods, slow service, not worth! Avoid

Nice caterpillar and california rolls. Not so good chicken teriyaki and spicy tuna rolls.

I finished practicing for an exam and was scrolling through Unilocal to see if any restaurants were open. Since this place had a high rating and was open until 3:00am, I thought well I should give it a try.
My lack of attention to detail resulted in me finding out that this place is inside the M8trix casino when I got there… hence why it is open until 3:00am. Also, I realized the quantity of reviews was fairly little and hence why it is probably rated a little higher than other sushi places.
That aside, let’s get to the review. So, I tried the orange blossom roll ($ 14) and the cherry blossom roll ($ 18). Both were great. Although pricey, the fish within and on top of the roll were both very thick. Sushi was top-notch.The michi sauce definitely topped it off and I don’t think I could find another place like this one. The food doesn’t come with cups of water since its more like a bar than a restaurant. The chefs are very considerate and friendly.
Cons:
1. You do have to pick up your own order if you are just here for the food
(but come on, who is just here for the food? –ahem-​).
2. Service is a bit slow just because there was only two sushi chefs.
3. Odd to just eat at a sushi bar within the casino if you aren’t going for the casino itself. (so sort of a con?)
I would recommend this place if you want some meaty sushi and a little bit of gambling on the side.

Tasting Michi’s sushi again really took me back. After taking a bite of the M8trix Roll, I remembered all the good foods and good times had at the Campbell restaurant. The consistency of the flavor, texture and technique was amazing. This is the Michi I fell in love with over 10 years ago. Mr. Shin and his family have truly shown me what it is to be «Michi Family.» I feel the love. Thank you, Michi!

I came to Epic Bar to watch the games with my work associates. They allowed us to order sushi from Michi here which is cool.
The Salmon and tuna were OK. The rolls with rice were fallen apart. They put too much sauce, overkilled the rolls.

The sushi is awesome, the owner is a good host and its open till 3. Dope.

Michi the chef extraordinaire was very hospitable and the sushi is amazing! The orange cherry blossom was a-​melt in your mouth-​experience. A great hack for da sushi cravers that don’t have a place to go to after 930pm Sunday nights! thanks michi.

Within hours of posting my review I received a message from the General Manager, Raphael. His extensive message included a sincere apology for my negative experience and some explanations for some of my complaints about the food. While I still do not feel that the crab was up to par, I must admit that the temperature of the sushi may have been altered due to our order sitting near the refrigerated section of the sushi bar waiting to be picked up. This could have been avoided if the café cashier (a M8trix casino staff member) had told us from the beginning that we need to pick up our own orders.
In all honesty, I don’t see myself coming back here. However, Raphael’s professionalism and customer service were so impressive that I felt an update was necessary.

Our family just can’t get enough of Michi. When we found out they were opening in Matrix we had to visit. Their sushi is great as always and so delicious! Thank you Michi, we will be back soon!

So I have to say I was so incredibly sad when I heard the original location closed, so finding out that Michi’s opened up here at casino m8trix was so exciting! The menu is much simpler but I don’t see that as a bad thing, it allows them to perfect the rolls, even though they always have been. I got the climax roll and the caterpillar roll and they were non-​existent after 5 minutes. So good! Mike and his Brother Rafael have always used fresh ingredients and seafood. They have a strong work ethic and love what they do. A lot of the Unilocal reviews from their restaurant complained about the pricing of the items. They definitely have the pricing right now if you ever thought it was too much. Glad to see you back MICHI!
