I’m a lot like a hairy guerilla and with it being summer and all I don’t like to go out like that. Oh did I mention that I could shave my chest and fill my head completely?
Well I called this place and scheduled the consultation and then read the Unilocal reviews. Oh dear god what did I get myself into? So I was meaning to call and cancel my appointment but I never got around to it.
What the heck, I’ll go and just brush them off, I thought. So I walk in and the receptionist was very helpful and kind. When I sat down with the doc I was initial frightened and waiting for the bait and switch. I explained that I could care less about getting this done, but my wife wanted me to do the meeting etc.
She presented me with the prices and it was decent. So I thought went ahead and scheduled the treatment. I immediately went home lamenting my decision, pulled up this Unilocal page and cried in the corner of my room.
The day of the procedure I was like a kid who crashed his dads car and his dad was on his way home. I wet my trousers out of fear in the waiting room and then again in the procedure room (no idea what else to call it). After a little bit we were done.
Fast forward everything turned out fantastic. My wallet wasn’t pillaged and the treatment actually worked.

I have been going to New Look Institute for over 2 years for laser hair therapy. I have gotten great results and everyone is always super friendly.

Thank you Sima for making me look and feel so young. I appreciate all that you do for me and love my new hair style

NO STARS please. This place brings back such awful memories. Read before you end up wasting a couple thousand on absolute trash.
Going back to 2002… I was very ill, went through some treatment and lost about 80−90% of my hair (I’m ok and healthy today). Naturally I was distraught over this. I looked online for some hair replacement places and came across this one. Note that back then Unilocal didn’t exist and I didn’t know anything about wigs, so I was very uninformed and naïve. I believe Sima is the owner because she was the same person who I dealt with.
My experience with Sima will remain with me my entire life. At that time, I was VERY VERY depressed and VERY vulnerable. Sima tried to act caring and soothing as she explained everything. at one point she tugged on my hair (which fell out very easily) to prove that I needed to buy her hairpiece. When I saw my strands of hair in her hands, I almost cried but tried very hard to hold in my tears. It wasn’t until after I left that I did in fact get very emotional. I felt convinced I needed my hair back to feel normal again. So even though it cost a couple thousand, I went ahead and made the purchase.
Later I came back to pick up the hair and to get it styled. I thought I was on my road to looking and feeling decent again… until I came home and my whole family thought it looked fake. It was sooo puffy and the color wayy too light despite us working together to pick a shade. Overall, it was TOTALLY obvious that I was wearing a wig. I even got stares out in public from people. Looking back, I can’t believe I wasted SO much money on a bad hairpiece and worse gave it to an EVIL woman.
Please take your business elsewhere. Back then I didn’t have many options, but now there’s so many wig shops that are VERY affordable, look MUCH more natural, and there’s NO pressure to buy and have your emotions played with.

If you are looking for Laser Hair Treatment, don’t ever think of this place. All they need is money. Once you pay them, they don’t care anything about your hair. All they need is money. They talk very nice. But ultimately their job is making u look better. They totally fail in that.
In short, they want your money. They will please you in all ways to make you accept their treatment. Once you are in, they are least bothered about your hair.
Don’t ever go to this place.

I am giving this place one star for the owner. She was VERY sweet and caring. But mostly, A GREAT sales person.
The reason why I am rating this place so low is because I felt taken forgranted. AND I WAS. This is a business and unfortunately, your on your own to determine which salon will provide you with the best quality. When researching — PLEASE TAKE YOUR time and if possible, ask around, go online, and research the salon before commiting to ANYONE and wasting so much money. I chose this place because I trusted the owner and felt most comfortable with her since I was extremely shy about my condition.
I was hesistant to place my order in because of the price, the owner gave me her discounted price of «1,7000» for a 7 ½ by 9inch upper crown piece. I had been going through some stress which had caused my hair to fall out on the upper crown. And for any woman that can be extremely embarrasing.
The visit was great, she was welcoming and patient. She even showed me a book customers who ordered her hairpieces. The pictures of these customers seemed a bit outdated though… the process involved a private consultation to figure out what I wanted. She examined my scalp and showed me a few swatches that had hair samples. Some included highlights which looked beautiful.
I decided to pick out a chestnut brown and add highlights to it. She took a measurement of my head and told me that the hair piece would be custom made and that it would look very natural since I had most of my hair at the time and blending was easier. I was scared and hesitent at first but decided that it was time to make a decision since I had been so tired of going to different salons for a hair piece. I decided to not pay in full because she was requesting «1,740» unfront which was her discounted price. I had only half of that available so I decided to make a 50% «non-​refundable» down payment instead. I was told that the piece would take about 8 weeks to make and once it was shipped to them — that they would call me for my «installment» appointment.
I came back about 10 weeks later and had the piece installed. The first thing I noticed was that the stylist didn’t give me a chance to look at the piece, she worked very quickly. Washed my scalp and the piece but glue on it and placed it on me. I didn’t have a chance to examine the piece closely but from the looks of it, it was full lace with a poly skin edge that would allow you to glue on the piece.
The stylist cut my hair, left the lenghth on it and set me to go about an hour and a half later. Initially, I loved the new look… the problem was that when I came home. About 3 weeks later I needed service, meaning I needed to have my piece re-​glued on. I decided to go to a another salon that did re-​installements and touch ups and was told that my piece was not custom made.
The piece was a bit loose when she tried fitting it on my head. The lace was very thin — the cheapest material out in the market. The hair was of average quality. The highlights — what highlights? There were NO highlights.
The bad part about this was that you signed a contract that this was non-​refundable. So I couldn’t complain. On average the piece was worth about 500 bucks not 1,740 when evaluated.
The code on the back of the piece indicated that it was not custom either. It was a stock piece.
In short, this was my WORST experience EVER. I say, NEVER let your emotions control you. If I could go back, I would of never chose this place. PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY, these people are sharks.
The piece only lasted 6 months before it began to tear and had too many repairs to even make it wearable anymore. Luckily, my hair grew back and so I just cut it very short.
The only good thing about this place is the stylist, she was real, even told me that she wouldn’t have paid what I paid. But I was vulnerable and the owner knew that. But I didn’t expect to be lied to and sold a stock piece for more then triple the worth.
TOTAL LIARS, please DO NOT come here. YOU’LL be taken forgranted.
