Very disappointed in their costumer service. Left 2 messages, and after hearing back from Vince, he told me he was busy so he would call me the next day. He said they were available for my event, but we would talk the next day. Next day came and went, never heard back. So I called me AGAIN, and he says to send him an EMAIL and he would answer all my questions. So I do. I heard back several hours later saying there might be a conflict but he would get back to me the next day. So, not surprisingly, he never does! until I send me ANOTHER email. The responds I got: sorry but we have a conflict and we can’t do your event. REALLY??? takes a WEEK of back and forward emails and phone calls to tell me they can’t!!! I sure hope their food is better than their costumer service! Not a good way to do business

Two weeks ago, I was at Human Society Silicon Valley’s Walk N Wag event. After noticing that 1 food truck was leaving the property, I rushed over to No Way Jose. I ordered a Tamale Pie, and it was pretty good. The bowl looked small but it was decently filled. I wish it was spicier but thank God there was an array of «condiments» on ice; onion, cilantro, jalapeño, salsa, etc. I shared a table with 2 people who ordered the Chicken Mango Quesadilla. They really liked it, so that’s something I shall try in the future. I’m excited to try other things on their menu. Hopefully my s/o will enjoy No Way Jose’s food. When we eat Mexican food from a food truck, it’s usually burritos filled majority with beans and the truck is commonly located in a secluded back parking lot.

They came by my work so I gave them a try. I got an order of carne asada tacos. They charge $ 5 for two. The corn tortilla was fresh and the meat was juicy. They had a salad bar where I topped mine with lots of red onions, cilantro, pico de gallo and lime. I loved that they had the avocado salsa! Mmm.

They had a sign for a special not on their standard menu at Moveable Feast last Friday. It was the first menu item I saw at Moveable Feast, at all, and I knew as soon as I saw it that I was going to order it. Lobster Tacos. $ 7. And it wasn’t just lobster. It had tilapia, shrimp, and scallops, too, plus pico de gallo and lettuce and a chipotle crema on it. We squeezed lime on it, sprinkled it with cilantro, added some salsa verde. Hooooh my Poseidon. My seafood-skeptical fiancé was equally speechless, and not just because our mouths were full. Just because there are no words to describe the oceanic party in a corn tortilla that we experienced that night. When I was young, I thought lobsters had evolved to be dipped in melted butter. How naïve I was. They evolved to find their way onto the No Way Jose truck and into some tacos. And eventually into my digestive system. That’s pretty obvious now.

Excellent! Margaritas are super powerful and tasty. Food is great and unique(kind of fusion, not super ethnic), and the team is fun and friendly.

I recently got to try No Way Jose by accident, it was suppose to be their other truck, the Louisiana Territory(which I was looking forward to), but the company had a scheduling issue and sent the wrong truck, so No Way Jose it was. A friend of mine had them before and said that their Taco Salads where really good so I was going to try that, but unfortunately, not only did they send us the wrong truck, the truck came WITHOUT Taco Shells, WTF! So, after I stared at their menu for a few minutes, I decided to go with their Carne Asada Taco’s($ 5.00÷2) I love«street taco’s» at least that’s what I call them, but these Carne Asada taco’s where unrememberable. They literally came out with just the soft taco shell and Carne Asada on it, that’s it! nothing else! and the Carne Asada didn’t really have any flavoring to it, I’ve marinated better at home. So I walked over to their Salsa/Condiment Bar and they have 2 types of Salsa, a Guacamole that was probably out of a bag or can, sorry that’s what it tasted like, some limes, cilantro, onion, and that’s about it. I tried to «spice» up my Taco’s but unfortunately I wasn’t very successful. It’s too bad, I was really looking forward to trying this truck. Maybe next time they will actually have Taco Shells and I can try these Taco Salads that are suppose to be so great! Until than, No Way Jose, is Now Way Jose for me.

I’ve eaten from this truck more times than I can remember but just last week I had ordered three fish tacos from this place for $ 9. A bit expensive… yes. The fish was sub-par and I probably shouldn’t have ordered it. However, I needed to try something different from the usual items. Sad thing was that I was still hungry afterwards. I should say that I’ve has some good quesadillas and burritos from what I can remember. I think I might have just given them 2 stars if I tried nothing else besides the fish tacos last week. I’ll note that I like their Louisiana Territory truck a lot more.

Mango chicken quesadilla = really good. Lots of mango. Carne Asada Tacos = not so good. Pretty boring. Service was a little slow but they were friendly.

I had two of NOWAYJOSE’S fish tacos and shared their chicken burrito recently at Moveable Feast: Garden City. The food was ready quickly, and the service was great. I was looking forward to trying several trucks that day, but it was packed and I was limited in time. NWJ had a very short line, and I thought — What The Heck? The burrito was good, but not unbelievable(3 stars). The fish tacos were surprisingly delicious(4 stars). I would grab a fish taco next time I saw them around. But I find Mexican food trucks a bit on the common and boring side. Part of being a food truck junkie is to try new and original items. This is basically a roving taqueria, and there is a taqueria on every corner in the Jo. Food was decent though… 3.25 stars.

My lovely friend decided to invite me to a Louisiana Territory food truck lunch. We showed up, and guess who’s not there? Yes, that’s right, No Way Jose took its place. Anyways, that’s my friend’s fault and a totally different story. We ordered fish and carnitas tacos. Food was good, but definitely catered towards the American gourmet taste. Not my cup of tea though … I was expecting authentic Mexican food from a taco truck, not some hyped up gourmet take on Mexican eats. I get the feeling that is what you get when you combine a Top Chef contestant with a taco truck. Other misc observations: The people out front are friendly! Canned 12oz sodas cost $ 2 a pop!

Tried out the fish tacos again last weekend. I dunno if they were reading my mind(or my previous review?) but this time my fish tacos came with absolutely NO spicy cream sauce at all, in contrast to the hefty squirts of it that were on my tacos the last time(hush!). The fish was still a little dry and definitely oversalted, but like last time, it was nothing that hefty dollops of fresh lime, pico, and cilantro couldn’t fix. Still a great deal at two for $ 5. However the main reason I’m upgrading my rating this time is because of the service: They were super nice about letting my friend special order a pair of «gringa tacos»(i.e. super Americanized meat/cheese/onion tacos). My friend said her Very Special Tacos were very good, and she too appreciated the super-thick, chewy tortillas; in many respects they’re the reason why these tacos are satisfying to eat. Just like you can’t have a good sarnie without fresh, proper bread, never underestimate the power of a good-quality tortilla!

SJ Eats was last Saturday– I ate my Alameda burrito yesterday and it was still very, very good! The chicken, the rice, the beans, the tortilla. everything held well in the fridge(it was foiled tightly up) and even when I threw the thing in the microwave, it held its form! Kudos for the salsa. I packed a small container and it had a spicy kick to it! I liked how the salsa, onions, cilantro, lemons were readily available and the products appeared to be fresh and clean as well. I mentioned my customer experience in my SJ Eats review so I won’t continue to babble on and on but would I go back to No Way Jose? Definitely, «Yes Way Jose!»

ok… I don’t know if it was just today or something but… TAMALEPIE… complete fail… FTW = For the Worst It was my first trying it and I am sure that’s not how it was supposed to taste like… It was mushy, watery, and had no flavor to it. My friend, who happens to be mexican, definitely agreed and couldn’t finish it either since it was so bad!!! I am so sad I spent $ 5 on that… At least my one fish taco $ 2.50 makes up for it… I should of ended my meal with my taco… sigh

Had a delicious lunch today from No Way Jose! I got a veggie taco, a fish taco, the crab chowder and some bread pudding. Everything was very tasty! The fish taco was a little salty for my taste but it was all great — I can’t wait to try them again.

Unilocal took the words right out of my mouth — «Yay! I’m a fan.» The No Way Jose food truck was in the neighborhood today at lunch time for nearby businesses and I’m so glad I tried it. I read the reviews ahead of time so I had an idea about the menu and ordered the taco salad. What I loved: fresh guac, roasted corn, tasty chicken(and I’m extremely picky about my chicken), amazingly fresh flaky shell. What I didn’t like: I was pretty hungry so it could have been bigger, but it was a basic lunch size salad so skinny people would probably think it was perfect. Describing it as a ‘gourmet’ food truck might be a bit of a stretch since it was about the price point and deliciousness-level of Una Mas or similar quick service restaurants. The word gourmet also threw me off on my expectation of the truck as a whole. It was still just a food truck. It has to roll down the freeway. But was it 5 – 10 notches above the average food truck? For sure. The only bummer about a truck is you can’t simply go back when you want to eat there again. Which I will.

First time customer and on recommendation of Michael I tried the Tamale Pie and it was excellent! Soft corn masa, chile colorado and sour cream. with the just right amount of heat. The service was quick and friendly and they have a wonderful condiment bar with a wide variety of condiments and sauces. Great food, great people with attractive prices… I will definitely become a regular!

I’m kinda getting over the whole Food Truck hype, but still had to check this one out since I love their other truck. I tried their taco salad and it was actually really really good! It was filled with all the good stuff, beans, chicken, sweet sweet corn, sour cream sauce that was so yummy, cheese, salsa. lettuce, tomatoes. Everything tasted very fresh and the taco shell was so light and flaky. Would definitely get it again! I also orderd one chicken taco since I always have to at least check out the tacos. It was just your ordinary taco. It only comes with chicken and then you have to put all the fixings on your self which was fantabulous! They have a whole condiment bar with everything you need. I thought that was a great touch. The other great thing they had besides their customer service(which was great as always!) was their home made ginger ale. Wholly Molly! She gave me a sample which was actually a whole cup and was able to enjoy it with my meal. So much better than store bought. When they are around town again, I will definitely check them out again!

I think when hitting up this truck you have to go for the things you can’t get on other trucks. Tamale pie, chile verde quesadilla, whitefish tacos. The asada tacos were only ok and for $ 2 they can be 2x some others without being in the same league. I didn’t look at the burritos closely enough to comment on the variety of the selection but that maybe another avenue for alt-Tacotruck Mexican. The guy working the front is super friendly and it looks like they’re trying real hard to get it off the ground. They’re related to the Louisiana Territory guys which I do like, so I’m expecting them to gear up for good things to come.

You know, I really wanted to like No Way Jose. With a name like that? So clever! And it is by the same nice people that brought us the Lousiana Territory Truck(see previous review… I gave it 3 stars and also thought it was pretty meh). I went to the Microsoft parking lot with my truck-loving friend, hungry and excited at the prospect of having a Friday taco truck so close! My friend ordered a burrito($ 6) and I ordered the carne asada taco and the chicken quesadilla($ 5 for both), on recommendation from the people who were working the truck. My carne asada taco came out with just meat on a corn tortilla. You add everything yourself at the condiment bar. I would have liked them to have put in the perfect blend of ingredients instead of having do to it all myself. Onions, cilantro, everything. The meat was tender, but I thought the taco itself was just ok. Really nothing special. I understand that the $ 2 or $ 3 I paid for the taco wasn’t expensive, but the amazing taco trucks that I’ve been to in Oakland do a much better job putting together delicious tacos for the same price(or cheaper). The quesadilla was the same. Just ok. Very plain. It came with sour cream and a weird, creamy guacamole that showed no signs of containing avocados. I was not really a big fan. I can actually make the exact same quesadilla at home very easily. My friend said that his burrito was also just ok. I did not think anything tasted bad, persay, I just don’t think it was good. It was just ok. Totally meh and not worth going back to. In the future, I will say no way to No Way Jose.

Came here for lunch today. Lo and behold it’s the same guy as the one who greeted me at the Louisiana Territory(although same parent company so no surprise). What was surprising was that he remembered my name, even though I’d only been to their other establishment once and that was a month ago. Took my order and delivered me my food when it was done. Granted, I was five steps away but yay. He also mentioned that one of the items I ordered may be a liitle over salted, gave me his business card so that if it was, he would credit me next time. Also replaced the salsa when it emptied without any customers asking him to. A+++ customer service. I ordered The LA — white fish tacos — and the El Nino — cheese and fresh tomato quesadilla with guacamole and sour cream. Tacos come plain, but there’s a whole assortment of condiments off to the side. Pickled peppers, onions, cilantro, 2 salsas, limes, and regular and chipotle tobasco. A+ on condiments. Guacamole is more of a creamy sauce than chunky bits so be forewanred. Also, quesadilla is only one tortilla(so three pieces when folded over). I had just eaten a pepper and also put on lots of condiments so maybe the slightly oversalted tasted was covered up, but the fish taco tasted delicious to me. Quesadilla — cheese wasn’t oozy-gooey melted as I’d like it to be. Nothing special, but it tasted good so I can’t complain. I can’t decide if the creamy guac bothers me or not, but creamy guac is better than brown avoado bits or too much lime. They also have burritos for $ 6, and a cajun chimichanga special, which I’m skeptical about since it sounds like leftovers from their cajun truck wrapped into a flour tortilla and deepfried… Can’t be certain since I haven’t tried it though! I should probably return to try the chicken/carne asada products(for a fairer comparison to other Mexican joints I’ve been to). I’d been to the cajun truck before so I figured there wouldn’t be crazy lines(i.e. Chowdermobile). Only a couple people in line before me when I got there at 12ish and a continuing stream of people steadily arriving after I ordered. Very, very fast(and friendly service), which it should be since it’s essentially a taco truck. Less than 30 min to leave work and get back, including driving through Castro(always heinous). Tables set up if you want to eat there and is also useful for having somewhere to put condiments while you wait for your food. Nice that this location has some shade too if you do want to eat on the curb or grass. Prices are comparable to authentic trucks, i.e. very affordable, if not cheap. $ 4 for a taco, quesadilla, and unlimited condiments. Will definitely come back when they’re in the neighborhood.
