Off the Grid

I thought the concept of food trucks was restaurant food at food truck prices. But from what I have experienced is higher prices and inferior to restaurant quality. The business model is upside down for the consumer. Buyer beware.

I can’t I live about a 5 min walk away from this plaza and I only just today tried the food trucks!
Great area for picnics and family outings. If you want boba or coffee there are the coffee shop and boba places nearby.
I tried the beef flatbread tacos from Babakabob today. Tasty, but a little dry and the fries were suoer salty. I will definitely come back next weekend to try what the other trucks have to offer!

Great location for food trucks! Nice little park, with lots of benches, grass and nice local shops surrounding… I’m surprised there aren’t many people here enjoying it!

I visited on ⁶⁄₆. 90% of the trucks did not have a line, which was really nice. And all but 2 of the trucks had canopy to cover people standing in line which was nice because it was hotttttt…
Some of the customers need to chill out while waiting if I could give the customers stars it would be ZERO.

A beautiful day to be outdoors, there was a total of 8 to 10 food trucks at this location. After checking out the selection of foods to eat, I ordered the chicken tikka masala with rice, and my dad ordered the cheese naan. It was a hot day so I got bottled water and my dad got mango lassi.
We arrived at this event around 11am and stayed for about an hour with no lines, loud music, and plenty of people with their dogs.
This is only my second time food trucking aside from Edgewood Eats in Palo Alto years ago.
I would advise that you go with an open heart, cash, and sunscreen.

Shrimp Ban Mi Wrap: 3 stars, would have like more cilantro & seasoned veggies
Me So Hungry:
KTM short rib sliders: 4 star; huge chunk of meat & great flavors
Hongry Kong:
Flaky custard tarts: 4 star: super flaky crust
seaweed sui mai: 3.5 stars: enjoyed the seaweed flavor
original sui mai: 3 stars: could use a bit more seasoning. as a bit more fat
curry fish balls: 3 stars: the fish balls were ok, the curry sauce is killer
i wanted to try the grilled cheese truck, but had to make a decision. too many choices…
maybe next time.
i would love to have Sam’s chowder come… oh yes!!! Lobster Roll: P

Woo hoo! Off the Grid in San Jose!!! What a lovely Saturday to spend quality time with my family and friends! Evergreen Village has a nice grass area to eat, play, chat and relax. The live music was a nice touch!
There were only 6 food trucks but after eating a massive grilled Black Forest ham & sharp cheddar cheese sandwich (The Jesse James) from The Grilled Cheese Bandits I didn’t need to eat any more. I did, however, try the caramel & bacon waffle from the The Waffle Rooster. That was sweet and delightful! I also had to try Party of Four gelato (chocolate, pistachio, almond, vanilla) from Hela Gela and it was hella good! That was all my belly could handle, but since the food trucks are here every Saturday I will definitely come back to eat some more!
