The only good thing about this place is that it’s inside the student union. Otherwise the quantity of food that they serve is ridiculous. It gets fewer and fewer day by day.

It’s panda express so there’s not much to expect. My complaint has more to do with the employees. I don’t understand how, when ordering a side, me saying, «i’d like a side of beef and broccoli,» takes three people to figure out what I’m taking about when I’m looking right at it. Also the communication is so poor between there employees I had one of them ask me if five different orders were mine, after I already told her which order was mine. I swear if these are the things you struggle with this life thing is just to difficult for you just give up.

Delicious food. Gone for my usual 2 entrée combo with Kung pao chicken and orange chicken. Needless to say Orange Chicken is at it’s best. Kung Pao is very good. It has all spices blended superbly which made spice levels accurate.

Look, this place is run by college students, I get it. All you have to do is say«Fill the Fucker» and they will get it right away that you are hungry and not messing around. As for the entrees, they get a little dry, it would be nice to see a little more fresh products coming out! It would really make a difference!

worst panda express ever. I’m writing this review while eating their dry and undercooked chow mein. I eat there 3 times and every time their foods were messed up in some way. I’ve been to many other panda express and I usually like their foods. However, this panda sucks!!! How could they even mass up their chow mein??? Too bad there’s not a lot of choice in cafeteria :(

Recently they have been stepping up their game! My usual is the two entrée with half chow mein and steamed rice, ORANGECHICKEN and eggplant tofu! I have to say that the orange chicken here has the most chicken! Not just flower for the crispy breading.

I was desperately hungry for some food before heading to my evening class, and the overpriced sandwiches, wraps, etc. really turned me off. I told myself I would rather starve than pay $ 6+ for a sandwich, until I saw Panda Express and got a small side of chow mein for $ 3.75. The box was full, so I got my $ 3.75 worth that one time and decided I would come here for a small side of chow mein over a $ 6+ sandwich at the food court any day. …until I came here a second time, where my Panda Bowl wasn’t full, and a third time where my side of chow mein was only ¾ full. Way to ass rape us broke college students.

Expensive place. The people here are not very generous when it comes to portion size too. $ 5+ for a bowl and $ 6+ for 2 entrée.

By default, a fast-food joint should only be 2-stars at most. Since this one fails to impress, I’ll leave it as 1 star. How can you mess up on chow-mein? Easy, make it soggy and lack recognizable flavor. I ordered the remnants of a kung-pao chicken platter and some noodles for a Panda bowl, but it felt like chewing through tires. I hope the Bei-jing beef and orange chicken is better. Good thing the service was fast and courteous. Sorry guys, let’s try to get something good going next time.

I recall filling out multiple surveys ever since i was a Freshman at SJSU in how they can improve their food selection and they finally listened. PANDAEXPRESS was one of the food selections i voted on! Well to start off, i think it’s great that this replaced the generic«Oriental Express» fast food. Franchise is the way to go and I’m sure SJSU paid big bucks for it! However, they must be making BANK because it’s been a huge success on campus! The line is always crazy long. Poor Nathan’s hot dogs with no customers.(That seems like a bust.) Overall, i would give 4 stars for the company. I really enjoy the food and I don’t mind waiting in line=] However, there’s just something a little bit off in the SJSU branch. Perhaps it’s the mass production that is responsible for the decreased quality of food? Must be. I ordered a 2 entrée meal which included two dishes and one side. I ordered half fried rice and chow mein and double dishes of orange chicken for $ 5.80.(This seems to be cheaper than most branches. Am i right? I don’t know, but it’s a pretty good deal.) Here is my take on it… I noticed the chow mein noodles were all cooked differently. Some were burnt, some were plain, and some were just right. They need to improve in cooking even batches. Another thing i noticed was the fried egg in my fried rice was very chunky. It seemed like the egg should have been cut smaller. I guess that’s just my preference, but besides that I’m pretty satisfied=] I like the selection. They never seem to run out of food. They’re always cooking in the back! The two mountains each of chow mein and fried rice may be overwhelming AND of corse my favorite the orange chicken≠] OH yumm! The panda workers are friendly, efficient, attentive, and give a generous amount of food. added bonus *the fortune cookies are delicious!!≠]

As someone who’s been involved with Spartan Shops for six semesters, I knew for a while that a Panda Express was in the making.(For those who aren’t in the know, they also plan on taking down Burger King in favor of a Carl’s Jr.) Originally Oriental Express, this on-campus Panda Express has a similar selection. The main difference is that it’s now a bit more expensive(Panda Express isn’t exactly the cheapest Chinese fast food on earth) and they took out three of their very best items — the BBQ pork Asian-style sandwich, the noodle soup(because they took out the Noodle Bowl booth), and my favorite item they had… chow fun. Since the change to Panda Express, fried rice and chow mein taste better than ever, and the signature Orange Chicken is simply to die for. They also have a chef’s special every now and then, so it’s something that definitely adds variety. Panda Express is always a solid choice, but it’s always good to go here at the best times. There’s usually no like during the 1:30 block, so that’s a good time to go since they shouldn’t have run out of anything yet. Also, their mixed vegetables are very bland. Believe me, during this lenten season, I’ve been doing my best to take advantage of all vegetarian dishes, and Panda didn’t really help. You’re really better off just eating their sides. My only real complaint here is that the employees are just as shady as all of us and only fill your bowl up to the top of the bowl, rather than«real» servings that other Panda Express locations are known for.

Not gona lie. i was pretty excited when panda came to SJSU! I usually order the panda bowl which comes with one/combination main entrée(chow mein, fried rice, or steamed rice) and one side for about 4.80. I always choose the chow mein and orange chicken. They kinda skimp on the chicken here. if i were to go to a normal panda at a mall they always pile on the food! One time I chose the firecracker chicken.eh.it didn’t satisfy my tummy. I definitely HATE the fried rice here. it taste super plain and kinda weird in my opinion. The chow mein is so-so.but i always enjoy their orange chicken.

This place finally arrived on campus! As much MSG as this place probably has, they still keep the customers coming. This place is one of the most popular on campus. There’s always a long line during lunch hours. But they work efficiently and the line moves fast. Prices are the same as in the mall i believe. $ 4 – 6 for a plate with entrees and sides. $ 2 — 3 for 1 side or 1 entrée. About $ 2 for hot and sour soup, which is not bad, but has a strange texture. The food smells good, but for some reason, it doesn’t have the same addicting taste as the Panda Expresses in the malls. But I must admit, I fall into the panda bear trap pretty often because it’s one of the best things on campus. The taste is good and give pretty generous portions too. I like their Beijing Beef, Fire Chicken(i think that’s what it’s called) and Orange Chicken(but who doesn’t love their orange chicken??) As much as I enjoy the first half of my Panda Bowl, when I finish I always end up feeling like crap inside, probably because I ate a bowl of heavy preserved food. Nonetheless, I return when I have my occasional Panda Express cravings and fall into the bear trap, aaah!

Just like Diane P. mentioned, I was GIDDY when I found out Panda Express was opening up on campus. Ever since I’ve been going to SJSU, we’ve always had that nasty, un-edible, Orient Express joint in the Student Union cafeteria. And for as long as I can remember, I always mentioned that I wished we had Panda on campus for my Chinese food cravings at school. I still remember the first day of school, seeing a Panda poster outside the student union, and I was like O.M.G. I mean, not that Panda is the best stuff on earth, but after wanting it on campus for so long, it was like my prayers were answered(as dumb as that sounds, but hey, campus food options really aren’t that great). Anyhow, Spartan Shops did a great job deciding to add Panda Express to their collection of food outlets. Before Panda, hardly anyone ate at that gross Chinese fast food place. I’ve noticed that ever since they opened, you will always see a line at Panda, and if you look around the dining area, it seems as if at least 50% of the students are eating Panda. Definitely a good move — they’re making more money, and the students are happy.

SJSU open their own Panda Express on campus. I have to say, it taste like any other Panda Express that I’d tried anywhere else. The only time I come to Panda is to accompany my friend who only eats Panda or In-N-Out. Now that there is one on campus, we don’t have to venture out in my automobile. The only thing I dislike about this Panda is the workers that portion your food. I like to get my money worth and they are so stingy with the portioning that it disgusts me. I like how other Panda Express employees stuff your box and your food is kind of dangling out of your box.

Alright, not on par with the other Panda Express. Yes no gonna lie, I got a little wet when I found out Panda Express was coming to SJSU, but after dealing with a longggggg line, I come to find they’ve run out of Orange Chicken! It’s like they know it’s the most popular dish so they should always have em ready! Ahh so I was in a rush so I settled for Mushroom chicken, which is one of my favs anyways, and sweet n sour pork, which was gross. There was no meat, it was just the soggy outsides? Not a great experience, maybe cause it’s kinda new. But oh well, I’ll probably be back, there’s not much to pick frmo at school.

FINALLY, a line as long as Jamba Juice inside the SJSU Student Union Food Court! Preceding to the Americanized-Chinese Fast Food Chain was the«Oriental Express.» Its menu had almost everything similar to Panda, yet it didn’t really seem draw the crowds. But now, with the addition to the very bright and colorful Panda Express at the Student Union Food Court, hopefully it keeps the crowds coming and staying. Good job to whoever decided to bring another chain restaurant to SJSU!
