Real Escape Room San Jose

Enjoyed the Time Machine! We were so close! The staff were super fun and the puzzles, confusing but they do make since after you go through it the first time. I really enjoyed my time here with my sisters. Great team building and problem solving stuff. I thought the room was very simple when I walked in, but realized very quickly– that if it had more too it, it might be too difficult to solve.

this was a mass game where the max of ea party is 6, and there were about 9 – 10 teams. its a mass game like their att park one except they rented out a womens club
some of the puzzles were fun but wished they were able to utilize the space more instead of posting puzzles on the walls. as you do more scrap games you start to see how their way of thinking is and the way how the games are supposed to be played. unfortunately it was our 3^rd scrap game loss. as much as we hate the scrap escape company the most of our all the ones we have done, we continue to do them because we have yet to win one of their games. we were pretty close to finishing, we just need an additional 20 – 30 min

What a fun, team-​building, challenging activity for groups! Our engineering crew invited me to join them in experiencing this problem-​solving, critical-​thinking activity where only the smartest survive. We were a little lost at first but our nice host gave us complete instructions without actually telling us how to solve the multiple puzzles scattered throughout the room (s). You are given a specific amount of time to escape so be sure to have your mind and wits sharp. Examine EVERYTHING. All the way down to the details, nooks and crannies for clues. Work together as a team and it will all fall into place as long as everyone contributes. We as a team escaped the room and gained a sense of pride and accomplishment as we were only the 30^th-​something team of hundreds to solve it. :) All in all it was a fun experience, as long as your team is smart, detail-​oriented, and can work together without fuss!

So fun!!! Totally unique experience. I wish I had more time to plan this get together and actually gather 11 people who I knew and would work well together, but working with strangers turned out just fine. It was intense. I found myself sweating trying to get the puzzles complete. I guess it was all the adrenaline that rushes through you when you do something like this. I am a puzzle fanatic and have done all the escape room apps, but nothing really prepares you for the real thing. Super challenging and totally memorable. LOVE LOVE LOVE!

This is a fun activity for a group of friends! I had a great experience. I haven’t been to the new location yet but was very satisfied, going to try the SF location in a few weeks.
The staff was very helpful. I had called a week earlier to ask questions and then was having some technical difficulties on the website and the guy stayed on the phone with me the entire time until everything was booked.
Overall, a great experience, friendly staff, and everything was very well organized.

The lobby area has an assortment of games and entertainment to keep you busy if you’re early for your time slot. All the staff are very approachable and very friendly. You can tell they all enjoy what they do.
Everything was very clean, organized, and nicely done.
The room itself was a great challenge for our group of 6. We didn’t make it out (so close!!!) but everyone agrees that it was a blast. Would make for a great team building event, no doubt.
We had such a good time, we’re booked for the time travel lab next week.

I was afraid that the game would be too hard, but it was just the perfect difficulty. :) A great activity to do with friends!
We were also confused and didn’t realize one of my friends had already done the game we chose (since she did it at another location). At the end of the session one of the employees said they would give her a free credit for their other game, since she was a good sport about it. This type of service was really unexpected since it was our fault. So great great customer service obviously. You can tell the workers want you to enjoy yourself, and the free credit offer really cemented that fact for us.

Had a team building event here for work. We had a big group and I was somewhat skeptical about the event but one of our team members said it would be fun. In the end everyone had fun trying to get out of the room. Very interesting and frustrating puzzles. So close to getting out… Ran out of time, was short about 2 minutes from getting out of the room.

If you’re looking for a new activity to do with your friends, say no more. Real Escape Rooms are such an awesome way to solve some puzzles and have a blast working together with your friends. Basically, for most of the scenarios (they change out the scenarios occasionally to keep things fresh) you’re placed in a room where you’re left a mission to solve. They’re really interactive and hands on. It really gets your mind going, and makes you think and work with your team.
To come here you basically book a room game and a time. Rooms typically hold a large number of people so if you want to be with just your friends, be sure to buy out the entire room as someone may book the remaining slots, but hey that’s also a great way to meet new people. The people here are also very friendly and super helpful. They really make the room entertaining for everyone. They may also give you a couple hints if you’re struggling so don’t be daunted by how challenging their puzzles can be, but don’t expect to finish unless you’ve earned it either!
But whatever the occasion, Real Escape Rooms offers a fantastic experience. The puzzles are great for everyone, and working with your friends makes the game that much more fun! I can’t wait to come back.

Came to this Real Escape Game for the second time this past weekend. My very first experience here was a couple years ago at the Escape from the Mysterious Room. That room was a lot of fun, but since it was most of our first times doing escape rooms, we didn’t know quite what to expect so we weren’t even close to escaping. This time, on the other hand, I had 3 room escapes under my belt and was ready to OWN the Escape from the Time Travel Lab.
Some things that set this business apart from the others I’ve been to. They are very organized and professional, but also super friendly. There’s a bin of clipboards and pens and paper for you to use, and you’ll always have a «chaperone» in the room to watch over what you’re doing and give hints if needed.
I won’t spoil anything but will just highly recommend the Time Travel Lab for the fun theme that is unlike any of the other rooms I’ve done. My team was able to escape with less than 2 minutes to spare. According to their records, we were the 11^th team to escape out of 121 attempts. It’s definitely challenging but by no means impossible!
A few tips to help your chances, based on my experiences:
— It helps more than you expect to go with a group of all people you know and can communicate with well.
— Designate basic roles. We had several people who focused on searching and another group focused on solving puzzles. Of course this will change as the game progresses but have people play to their strengths.
— Divide and conquer. Every so often, make sure that every task you know about is being worked on. Split the group up so there’s at least someone working on each part.
— Stay organized! We tried to keep track of all the items we had already gone through/​clues that were already used/​puzzles that were already solved so no time was wasted doing repeat work.

This place is awesome! Went to their old location to try out their mysterious room and came back here courtesy of Unilocal for their time traveler one. Both rooms presents different puzzles and require for you to think! The staff here are awesome and sometimes a little quirky but it definitely adds to the experience. Just remember to have fun and work together as team! Great place for team building and friendship ending (lol) experiences!

The Real Escape Game is located at an unmarked office building on the corner of N First St. and Taylor. It’s the one with the large parking lot. If you’re directionally challenged like me, use a GPS. Anyway, I came here during a Unilocal Elite event, and I tried to escape the Time Travel Lab with my fellow Unilocalers. As of yesterday, 30 teams have failed. You get an hour to escape the Time Travel Lab, but we weren’t even close. We felt deep shame after losing and scattered to the four winds. You don’t get a second try, because you theoretically get sucked into a time vortex where you float aimlessly for eternity.

This was my first experience of its kind and I had so much fun with it! I’ve played Escape Games on iPad apps before (pretty amateur, I know), so having the opportunity to participate in a real-​live one got me excited! I signed up with a friend group of five, but unfortunately only four of us showed up. We were then joined by another group of five (2 of which came halfway through the initial instructions). One of my immediate worries was: uh oh, we don’t know each other — we gotta work on communication!
Sure enough, I found that communication is super important for this game and teamwork is necessary! But, I still think we did a great job together, despite not having a longer than 10 minute foundation to our game-​day relationship. I had a great time for that full hour, and yes, my brain hurt at the end of that unwinning, inability-​to-​get-​out-​of-​the-​room game.
Would I do it again? Totally! Looking forward to signing up with friends for the Time Travel Lab that just opened in San Jose! Thanks for a great experience!

Great for a team bonding event. If you and your squad likes to solve hard puzzles and tear apart a room looking for clues to try to escape a room? This is the game.

This was actually my first escape room game that I’ve ever played. I was invited by Warner Bros to promote their new movie called the Gallows and I decided to go with a couple of my friends.
The whole game was really fun! You really have to think as you try to solve the puzzles and you have to communicate with your team and coordinate to solve it. We almost finished it but we ran out of time. We were team #554 and only 23 teams have completed the whole game!
If you love solving puzzles, this is a perfect opportunity for you! It helps being analytical and observant and yes it may get frustrating but it’s enjoyable.
At the end, the lady walked us through with what we missed and the simplest clue was literally right in front of us! We also received 4 free movie tickets, a poster, and a bottle opener courtesy of Warner Bros. This is also a great game to bond with total strangers. I know our group was fun and we were all cooperative!

If you’re looking for a challenge & something fun to do with friends, I highly recommend doing this!
I came here with a group of 7 friends & we were joined with 4 others. We were told teams who escape finish in approximately 47 minutes, but only a very small fraction of those who’ve tried had actually escaped. So be sure you bring your thinking cap! We were very motivated… unfortunately, we did not escape. I love how it was a team effort & it really helped if members of the team were designated to do specific tasks such as finding clues or taking notes. After our hour was up, they guided us in solving the rest of the puzzles. Definitely tricky, but not impossible!
The only downfall was I thought it was a little pricey. I paid $ 30 & it was only an hour long.

I love these kind of thrilling challenges!
The game itself is so much fun, it gets your blood pumping once you begin your escape. Teamwork and having an open mind is key to doing well in this challenge. The game is very much team-​based, and those who work together will honestly do well. Our team was actually on point and collaborated incredibly well!
Everything was incredibly thought out and structured well. No leaking anything, but you definitely need to think way beyond the box. The more people on your team, the higher the chance you’ll end up escaping! And who wouldn’t cherish the idea of working together to escape from a suddenly mysterious room, only to have so many clues and sudden problems arise? I went in with a focused mind and out with blown mind. It was that good. Perhaps one of the best team-​bonding and friendship game ever. I have never felt so pumped (besides shooting a game winner and winning blackjack, but that’s another story…) and wanted to do another one! It’s that amazing.
If only… we were literally 98% of the way done when the time ran out. While we didn’t escape with our bodies, my soul literally left the building and I’m heading back there again to retrieve. Ain’t no way I’m losing again! This place is so much fun! Don’t even bother those video games or Candy Crush or Tsum Tsums. Get off your phones and computer and utilize your brainpower and knowledge! Who knows, you might get out alive!

Oh my goodness! What a fun night with my friends! I love how it’s so different to what we usual do and I am so glad we did this altogether as a group. Definitely a team effort here!
The game room itself is located within a business building. The staff basically come down to the lobby 10 minutes before the designated game time where you will sign some waviers and they will lead you all up to the game room. Starting then, everything is already so mysterious and it’s so awesome. The staff will go through the rules and everything with you in a separate room before you guys start.
The game itself was definitely a lot of fun with so much thinking. I love how the game is based upon a team building experience because everyone needs to work together. Props to those who actually created the game so we could have an awesome time in playing and figuring everything out!
Too bad we weren’t able to escape, but I am definitely down to come back when they have a new one set up! I highly recommend this place or this type of escape game in general. Don’t worry about escaping the room too much, just have fun!

If you love challenges, solving puzzles, and participating in strategic games that will push you to «think outside the box», I highly recommend grabbing a group of friends (who preferably share the same interests), and partake in The Real Escape Game.
I’ve heard about these challenges prior to participating in this cerebrally stimulating experience. As a matter of fact, I know of someone who enjoys these type of mind-​boggling games on her own time. To lock one’s self in a room and find a way (and the only way) out, just for fun, would sound silly (or mentally insane, rather) wouldn’t it? Not for everyone, actually! Trust me– you’d be surprised. And I’ll have you know that these are the type of individuals with whom you’d, without a sliver of a doubt, want to befriend if you want to survive in a time of crisis.
Let’s keep this brief. The main goal — Strategically find your way out of a locked room; don’t forget to bring your teammates with you!
I had the opportunity to partake in this challenge with a fascinating and very intelligent group of Unilocal Elites. Without spoiling the surprise — I want to emphasize that every aspect of this challenge was brilliantly plotted and perfectly staged. You’re in for a real-​time experience. It may make or break you. Huge tip: make sure to utilize you and your teammates unique talents and interests as it will be highly beneficial to completing the game.
