I’ve used them three times now, and every time they did a good job. The latest job was a fence parallel to a water district chain link fence. There is a large laurel tree in the middle of the boundary line that needed to be worked around. Vladimir and crew did an excellent job and it looks great. I’ve never had any of the problems that others mentioned. My estimator was William who was terrific as well. Start to finish took about four weeks due to their backlog, but that gave me time to clean out the ivy that had destroyed the old fence. Their estimate was in line with what others gave me, and they were very responsive, more than I can say about other contractors. Some competitors never returned my call for an estimate. The new fence is even better than the last two!

I worked on my fence project with Bill M and I would highly recommend Sierra Lumber and Fence to anyone who is looking for professional service, commitment, and outstanding product. My new fence is well done from the craftsmanship point of view and beautiful to look at. If you have any questions or concerns just call Kimberly and she will gladly answer your questions. One recommendation for those who are planning to work with the Sierra Lumber team. Plan you project ahead of time and understand that you may have to wait couple weeks to get Sierra crew on your premises. They are busy and they are booked. However, it is worth it to wait and get a fence installed by these guys. I’m happy that I did!

I worked with Sierra Lumber and Fence for a while to replace our back fence. Vic was easy to work with and came out more than once to measure and estimate. He was very responsive and the price was good.
I was all set to hire them and just had to sign the contract. Wait — what’s this?
«12. Customer shall defend, indemnify, and save contractor… against any and all claims, demands, actions, causes of action, and damages, including expenses, costs, and attorneys’ fees, or injury to any person or property arising out of or occurring in connection with (I) the performance of this agreement or (ii) any other work performed by any parties on property or site, save and expect for any claims… arising out of sole negligence of the contractor.»
«17. Contractor does not guaranty (sic) or warrant the completion quality of its performance by other contractors or subcontractors or third parties, nor is he responsible for their acts or omissions.»
«18. Contractor has made no and makes no warranty, either express or implied, as to his findings… or professional advice or the work performed except that the work was performed pursuant to the generally accepted standards of practice in effect at the time of performance.»
I emailed back to get the terms adjusted and clarified, but never heard back.
I went with Delamore instead — they cost a little more, but have a good warranty, no indemnification, and did great work too.

This is my fourth job from Sierra (over 15+ years).
They replaced the picket fence they built for us over 15 years ago! Mauro (our original salesperson) helped us again. The posts were still in great shape, so we only needed pickets and rails (talk about cost effective). Miguel and Isaah did an amazing job (even dealing with landscape issues which cropped up). It’s great to know a company has such high quality standards and maintains them over the years!

Mauro met me at the house for an estimate. He was very professional and quickly understood the project. He delivered a quote to us within 1 business day. His team was great and worked quickly. Jesus was the lead on our job and worked to solve all the small issues that came up once the project started. I would definitely recommend them again!

Our landscape contractor hired Sierra Lumber and Fence to replace a retaining wall with associated decking and construct a raised bed for vegetables. In the interim we also needed to replace the back fence.
Sierra fence did an absolutely beautiful job on all parts. The joints on the deck and raised bed are perfect executed. We got a first class job.

I am so happy with my new fence. They put it up in one day.
The neighbors liked the fence.
Rodrigo was very friendly and nice.

I recently had a hogwire fence installed and 2 gates rebuilt with horizontal redwood boards along with a removal wall to conceal 2 rain barrels. The 3 jobs were complex and the crew pulled it off. I worked with Bill Moore and he walked me through the whole process. I am totally satisfied with the workmanship. I would be glad to provide pictures.

I really like the experience we had dealing with Sierra. From the courteous salesman Todd to the very professional, friendly and hardworking install crew– Jose and Telesforo, the whole experience was what you hope for with a contractor
The final price equaled the quote. The job started and finished exactly when they said it would. The crew cleaned up every day before they left. And they handled a few special requests like it was no big deal. Jose and Telesforo were very enjoyable to work with over the course of the week.

This was my second fence job with Sierra and this time, all I can say is WOW. Great job!
Do yourself a favor and avoid the salesperson Randy. He did the first job out and there were lots of issues. This second time I called him directly, and he messed it all up. Called back into Sierra, and they sent out Mindy, and she was GREAT! She listened to every request, understood it fully, and there were NO CHANGES or ISSUES! That’s right, she NAILED IT! (yep, I went there!)
Every neighbor loves the fence, and I stained it myself. We really appreciate the work done here, and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Sierra Lumber and Fence co for your fencing needs.

I see a lot of strange 5 stars reviews on the Unilocal for this company, especially for the people only buying gates and short panel. I called them, and Sierra doesn’t accept order with driveway gates and Fence shorter then 60′. I don’t understand why, but whatever.

Sierra is the best and your waiting is really worth their quality and service!
In project of replacing my 140′ fence, I happened to be one of these guys was not sure about Sierra after making an appointment initially — it took ten days for them coming out on site and another six days for me to get quote, only after calling back and spoke to the big boss Steven Poor there.
After getting more than five quotes from others, I still decided to give them a shot based on their rating pattern — almost all the customers who have actually used their service gave five stars while all the low rating comes from the other who made initial contact but without pursuing with them due to slow response.
Anyways, I am really satisfied with their service and quality, they are very professional and detailed even for the little item. I am glad that I waited for them and did not go with the ones who can show up the next day after calling. The slow responding time but still maintaining high rating has their reasons — they apparently have so many businesses. Few names to be mentioned: Steven is great boss who understand business well and address customer’s concern, Todd (estimator) and Jose (construction team header) are both very professional and done with good job. Kimberly is absolutely the best one works in the office — she is nice and professional, provides with very good follow ups. Without her persistent help, I would not end up with going with Sierra.

Randy was great. He was fast and efficient and had great communication through the process. Went above and beyond our expectations. The completed work was excellent. We would highly recommend their services.

I contacted them over their online form for over 70 feet of fence replacement. I had an email exchange with Cynthia Bradley where she asked a lot of good questions. After I answered them all, she told me she is referring me one of their salespeople, Mindy Sereno, who would be contacting me within 2 days to schedule an appointment. Well, over two weeks later, I’ve not heard a thing. I emailed Cynthia Bradley back, notifying her that I have not heard from anyone in two weeks. No reply.
I guess they don’t want my business, only really big jobs. Look for your fencing needs elsewhere.

I called ‘em to get an estimate on a 4′ wide gate with adjoining 4′ + 2′ wide pieces of fencing.
Santiago tried to upsell me on the «custom» gate, which is framed-​out with an arch and sturdier-​looking (see my photos) at $ 150 additional. At first, I thought that I’d rather spend the extra money to have key-​lockable latches instead ($ 100 additional).
I really wasn’t confident that the upsells were really custom, or if they were just better gates mass-​produced, however, Santiago said he’d do the lockable latch — and throw it in with the custom gate upgrade — all at $ 150 additional). So, all-​in-​all, this first gate/​fence combo cost me $ 900)
When I asked about getting the same key/​lock for latches on all three of my gates, he inspected my other gates and it turns out that the other similar size fence/​gate was fairly wobbly and also needed to be rebuilt ($ 800 total); and they also made a third gate stronger by reinforcing it ($ 100 including locking gate latch).
I didn’t really have the free cycles to get other estimates, but in my minimal research on the price of the locking latches, I think that Santiago cut me a fair deal; they also stained-​and-​protected everything.
They got it all done in a day’s work, and I was fairly impressed with the job.
Here is one pain point, though —
Later I had discovered that some of the extra dirt that they dug up for the post holes was just plopped on top of a bed of ferns — enough for some of the ferns to get ‘buried’ — though too much for me to want to clear it out myself. There was also some that ended up hidden behind the bush close by.
I would’ve preferred that they either mention this ahead of time; ask me where I wanted it; or haul it away like they do with the used fence boards.

I got an impression while talking to them over the phone that they were very professional.
They asked my contact info (email, phone and address) and asked relevant questions about fence location and so on.
After that I talk to Randy and scheduled an appointment to be at noon time.
Drove home from work 16 miles to wait for Randy at noon time. Spent whole hour at home waiting.
No one showed up. Called to the office to find out what is wrong.
They promised to find out and call me back… They didn’t.
I got an impression that they clearly didn’t need my business.
Wasted my time on those guys…

I was working (or trying to) with Randy Lowe. First try, he was supposed to call my tenants Monday to arrange a visit. They never heard from him. I called him three times, left him a message once, and sent him an email. I never heard from him.
I called the main office and Kimberly, the residential coordinator, said «that doesn’t sound like Randy». She had him call me back finally. He said he would drop by a week from then, and I said I’d check with my tenants if that worked. It didn’t, and when I tried to reach him again he actually picked up but said he wasn’t near his schedule and to try him again that afternoon. I called him that afternoon and left a message. Again, no response.
I called Kimberly again to cancel the visit on Thursday and got the same «that doesn’t sound like Randy». Well, you know what, it does to me! I didn’t want to give them another chance but she said she’d have someone else call me soon. It’s been a couple hours already. If they wow me I might change this review but so far I’m unimpressed.
EDIT: They called me back, I missed the call and called back right away, and before I could get a word in they transferred me back to Randy. Randy made some excuses about why he never got back to me and said he couldn’t coordinate with the tenants, that if they did that (work directly with tenants to schedule an appointment) they’d never get anything done. HE TOLD ME HE WOULD CALL THEM! HE TOOK DOWN THEIR NUMBER!
Save yourself some time! THEY DON’T WANT YOUR BUSINESS.

They came highly recommended by our friend, and I have seen the work they have done for my friend’s place, it looks nice.
So I left my email on their website on a Tue to request for quote for my 80ft fence, website says a rep will contact me in 48hrs, by Friday nobody called, so I called them, the lady found my email/​number in their system, and said all sales are busy, but I am on the list for them to call me early next week. Next Friday comes, nobody called. I called them again, the lady said Randy will be the sales to contact me, she said she has left a note on his desk, and he will call me that evening or Monday… now it has been another week and half… nobody called… so… maybe they are truly busy, but 3 misses makes me wonder what else would they have missed if they build my fence.

Well I Called Them To Replace A Section Of My Of My Back Yard Fence All I Needed Was One Section Replace And The Person On The a Phone Said We Won’t Help You Unless You Have 60 Ft Or More…
I guess They Changed Cause I Always Call Them In The Past And They Always Help Me

Called last week to request for someone to come and do an estimate on my fence that needs to be replaced. The lady was a bit rude asking how much was the length of the job would be. I said I am not sure, but 5 panels worth. She replied and said they only will do it if it’s at least 60 ft.
I let her know aside from that portion of the fence I initially called for I would also need to get an estimate on a new fence on a side of my house that faces the street which is well over 100ft, a lateral gate, etc.
She said someone would call me by Monday. It is Tuesday. Seems they are lacking on customer service. Please treat your customers kindly on the phone and be more punctual.
