What a show!
My bride & I date-​nighted for «Gemini: Her Majesty» this past Saturday.
When the Stage4 fellows step on stage, they have almost no idea what they’re going to say or do or even who their character is or what the production is about. Neither does the audience!
The Black Cat Licorice Theatre was fit to burst, and the energy was palpable. For me the big allure of watching improv is watching people make it up on the spot. You will see something that has never been seen before!
We will indeed return-​a fantastic couples activity!

These guys are hilarious! Generally, I’m not a big fan of comedy shows, but these guys are refreshingly unique and creative. Go see a show — you’ll be glad you did!

Decided to give this a try, came with little expectations, price was right ($ 15) and didn’t stop laughing for the entire show — the simplicity yet the sophistication of these 4 very brilliant guys in this simple yet warm place, turned to be a great Sat night — coming back for sure

Went here for a Saturday evening show. These guys cracked us up. It’s not just improv but a musical improv that didn’t fail to impress. If it was a little closer to where we live we’d go there more often!

These pro comedic veterans will give you the laughter of your lifetime. It was great working with Chris and Stage 4 Improv. They were cordially professional, receptive and responsive, and a delight to watch!
I’ve been a lifelong fan of comedy of all kinds — stand up, roasts, improv, etc. Previously, I’ve seen ComedySportz Sacramento and stand up shows like Dat Phan. I was craving for something new and local in San Jose. What do you do then? You Unilocal it!
Thank heavens for Stage 4 Improv! Their marketing/​social media is on fleek. If I see a legit, well-​kept Facebook, Twitter, and Unilocal page, it peaks my interest and really gives me confidence to check out the business. I do love marketing after all! These guys are the real deal. Combined, they’ve had years and years of comedy and improv experience. EACH SHOW is a NEW SHOW! as they state and it is definitely true. It was splendiferous watching them perform a Unilocaly show, and there were moments when they almost broke the wall and were out of sync. It’s odd, but it’s almost funnier that it’s improvised and you can see them giggling at their own jokes. They also do excellent impressions and really create characters that you can relate to. Comedians who can laugh at themselves are the best kind. And Stage 4 Improv is definitely one of the best out there.
So check them out at the American Improv Theater in downtown San Jose! They all have full-​time jobs or other life duties but come together for the sake of theater performance and comedy to bring entertainment to the masses– an admirable noble gesture. Thanks Stage 4 Improv! I will be back again and recommend everyone to come out and watch :)

I went here with my wife for a Unilocal elite event (I’m not elite, she is) — the group was talented, on rhythm, and overall hilarious. Loved their ability to riff and rhyme — highly recommended.

Got a chance to enjoy their show thanks to the Unilocal team! We were here for a Unilocal elite event over the weekend and my husband and I had a great time here. These guys are so talented. They come up with a story line, and hilarious lyrics just based on a few ideas from the audience — real time! If you want something different than just typical improv shows or broadway musical show, definitely give this a try!
Note the venue is small, but they have a parking lot right next door.

Hilarious! I was laughing so hard and loudly that I felt a little embarrassed afterwards… but no shame!
I was able to watch one of their performances thanks to a Unilocal Elite event. The venue is definitely a little smaller than I expected, but the quality of the actors is exceptional! They are truly talented and truly hilarious! I had no idea what to expect from a comedy improv musical, but these guys blew whatever expectations I had, clear out the water!
We provided them with some random topics and they managed to create hilarious plots and catchy songs right on the spot! These gentlemen must be really intelligent and experienced to think so quickly on their feet.
If you are thinking of having a date night, but are looking for something a little unconventional, I would HIGHLY recommend giving Stage 4 Improv a shot! I’m sure you won’t regret it.

Because I’ve studied Theatre and been a writer/​critic my whole life, it’s really hard to surprise me or impress me with a performance — improv or otherwise. I set the bar really high…
When Stage Four came on stage and started delivering some tuneful songs and dropping some hilarious lines, it was a Whoa — aha! experience. And they just got better and better. This was an exceptional night of entertainment.
My inner critic was silenced and put to bed early. That’s how I know what I saw that night was super. I highly recommend these guys.

These guys were contracted to entertain a company event. They were fantastic. Engaging. Entertaining. They had us all captivated. And, we laughed our selves right out of our seats. We are still talking about how very funny they were.

I call these talented 4 the Beatles of Improv. Individually they are great but combined you truly get a show that is exponentially incredible. I have been doing Improv for over 20 years and truly feel they are the touchstone for Improv in the Bay Area. The show is far better than any movie you will see and the concessions are so much cheaper too. Kudos to Jeff R (the owner) to showcasing such a talented group. Stage 4 is incredible and it’s a different, original story and songs every time. Improv is live and well in the Bay Area

I have been wanting to see Stage 4 improv for a while and I finally go the chance to go. I must say that this team of 4 men put on a great show. I studied comedy script writing in college so I am a bit of a critic when it comes to comedy. To my pleasant surprise these guys were amazing. Comedy is not that easy, especially Improv, and they had me entertained the entire time. From singing, to character development, to out right «funny», it was great!
So if you want to have a fun evening full of clean light hearted humor and good laughter I would highly recommend Stage 4 Improv. The venue is small and intimate so you really feel connected with the performance. It was easy to find and there was plenty of parking. They get two thumbs up from me! Go see them.

A must see group! They performed at Made Up Theatre in Fremont, and they rocked the house. They showcased «Inside the Writer’s Room» format, where they performed a fully improvised musical inspired by several audience suggestions. The format jumps back and forth between the actual musical and the behind-​the-​scenes creation of the musical. It’s a very unique format, and they are truly mastering the very difficult art of musical improv comedy (It ain’t easy, folks!) They perform frequently at the American Improv Theatre in San Jose. Check them out!

I went to watch a Saturday show a few weeks ago and all I can say is that IT WAS AWESOME!
I saw a lot of couples and groups of friends in the audience so come one and come all~
I was laughing the whole time and they are very engaging. The day I went they were doing a writers block (?) format and it was hilarious to see them build a story. By the way, if anybody is interested, they apparently have workshops so that’d be a cool group/​date activity.
I do also recommend coming earlier to grab a good seat. About 10 minutes before the start of the show I peeked in while waiting for some friends and it was already full.

When my group of friends went to watch Stage 4 Improv’s performance we didn’t know what to expect but let me tell you… it was AH-​MAY-​ZINGGGGG! I’ve never been so amazed by how talented a group of people can be and how they were able to think on the spot to produce such a wonderful show still amazes me. I couldn’t stop laughing throughout the whole show and even afterwards, kept replaying scenes with all my friends that went. Because of Stage 4 Improv’s performance, we even created a new handshake between the group of us!
I would definitely recommend going to see one of their shows!
Tip: Go early to get a good seat since it fills up quickly.

Come on over to the Black Cat Theater, a former brothel just west of downtown. They’ve got a parking lot, so leave The Club™ and quarters at home. Saturday nights host Stage 4 Improv: four talented guys making up a musical on the spot. The space is decent, they sell some concessions at intermission (non-​alcoholic beverages and candy).
The show itself is great! It’s a different type of improv show, centered around musical improv, which seems really hard sitting from the audience. It is impressive. Definitely try it out, you’ll come home with inside jokes that make you smile when you think back.
