Kim has been taking care of my hair for almost a decade. And now she manages the hair of my entire family. She is a solid performer and I know that when I get up out of her chair, my hair will look fabulous. Kim is a hidden gem!

I have been going to Star Image Studio for several years to get my hair cut. The owner and staff are very friendly and helpful. I always have my hair cut by Le, who does an excellent job. The interior is very nice with a movie screen and lots of pictures of actors above the various hairdresser’s stations.

I love this salon! I’ve been coming here for many years, even now that I no longer live in the area. I’ve gotten my hair cut by at least three different stylists here, but they are all great and very consistent in their methods. I have really thick hair that can be unmanageable without a good haircut, as it tends to curl in random places and become frizzy. These stylists really know how to handle my hair — they don’t just cut it once, they cut it multiple times from many different directions both while wet and dry. They also always straighten for you and do some last touch ups after. My hair never feels short when I leave, just much lighter and prettier. The prices aren’t too bad, I usually spend $ 40 – 50. The salon is also really cute inside. Definitely not just for kids though!

I have been going to this salon for about 5 years. I also get my hair cut about 3 times a year. Yeah the outside doesn’t look like anything special, but once you walk in it’s very cute! It’s themed & there is a huge movie screen for the kiddies. It’s definitely not a place where they pamper you. But they def get the job done. I ALWAYS make a appt. with Le. She is my absolute favorite. She’s really quiet & kind(if you like those really talkative hair dressers, she… is the opposite.) She speaks chinese, english, & vietnamese I believe. She excels in asian hair & really listens to what you want. I usually take a picture in & she can imitate it extremely well. But now a days, I walk in, tell her to do whatever she wants to do with my hair & I always walk out happy. I have weird trust issues with my hair, but when she’s the one cutting it, I have no problem with leaving it all up to her.(: Note: She specializes in the asian style of layering, so if you don’t want that make sure you specify that she doesn’t thin out your hair too much!(: A typical cut includes a head wash & she prices on length. When i went to her, I had short hair, but she helped me transition into growing it out nice & long.(: Short/med hair — $ 30 – 35 Long hair — $ 40 – 45 I’m at the length where I pay $ 45& it’s worth every penny. I’ve paid up to $ 60 bucks for a haircut & I ALWAYS go back to Le.

My kids are older, but I thought the stylists were personable. We usually just walk in and take whoever is available, but I’ve noticed that some of the stylists are really good, while some are just average. Both my son and daughter lucked out one day and got excellent cuts, while mine was just okay, as was my mom’s.

Three stars for being fairly kid friendly. They had DVD players, and gave my kids great cuts. Just three stars as the stylists were not particularly warm and fuzzy, nor patient with my figitey four year old. We will be back though — bottom line, it’s about the haircut. They did a nice clean bob on my four year old and long layers on my six year old. Overall, good service and good price.

This salon gave both my girls great haircuts. I have 8yr and 9yr old girls. One with long hair and one with medium. We booked an appt with Le Hong and she was great. She is shy and don’t chit-chat a lot, but she gave the girls a great cut. She is, however, a little slow at her work, since she is so precise. The shop has little DVD players in front of the kids and they can pick a movie from the shelf and are entertained while getting their haircut. It was $ 18 each for the girls. Great price, great cut.

My son is 2 yrs old and Lynn cut his hair. She was very gentle and very smart about cutting his hair. She even told me that the nape at the back of his neck made cutting his hair there somewhat uneven so she would leave it a little thicker so it wouldn’t create an indentation. That led me to believe she knew what she was doing. I decided to try Lynn today to cut my hair. We talked through it and I was very happy in the end. She helped me learn how to blow dry my hair and clip it to keep the bangs from falling in my eyes. She’s going to cut my daughter’s(4yrs old) hair next week.

This is a GREAT place to take your kids… and yourself too! I started taking my kids here several years ago. They have DVD players so the kids can watch videos while they get their hair cut. Now the problem is getting my kids to LEAVE not to go! The haircuts are good, we can make reservations with our favorite stylists who remembers how we like the kids hair cut. My wife and I now get our hair done there as well, so I can get my hair cut while my son gets his done. Efficient reasonably priced, convenient and my kids LIKE to go… What’s not to like???

WOW I cannot say enough good things about this place. I’ve told all my friends about you guys for 5 years, of which I have been a loyal fan! Lynn is amazing, she takes her time and makes the cut look PERFECT before letting you go! I don’t know the names of the other women there but they are truly amazing as well :) The first time I came here I thought. okay, maybe this place is just for kids. I was definitely wrong. I gave her a picture of Ashlee Simpson and when I left, although I didn’t look identical to Ashlee, I looked pretty darn good! I got endless compliments for that. Star Image also gave me bangs and my friends bugged me about where I got my hair cut for days! After a $ 40 cut, I went without cutting my hair for a YEAR and it still looked amazing! I love you guys!

My kids got their first haircuts at Star Image Studios and we have been going back ever since. Both my wife and I even get our haircuts done there now. We have been going there for about six years and it is always clean and we get great consistent service from Kim each time. This is a great family salon and is right on the border between Cupertino and San Jose. Walk ins are welcome, but you are usually best off if you call and make an appointment.

I took my daughters here for a hair cut with an appointment. I walked in and the place smelled strongly of food and it was hot and stuffy inside. I looked at the sign for $ 18 for haircuts and sat my girls down to begin. As the haircuts were coming to an end I saw that no one was in the salon so I asked if they would just clean up the boch job I did on my baby’s hair. She said it would be ok and I thought to myself«how nice of her I will give her a big tip» I thought this thinking she wasn’t going to charge me because it was literally just 3 snips of her scissors and a 1 second buzz of the razor. The whole thing took less than 2 minutes. I was happy and went to pay for the services. I was told that the 2 older girls were $ 25 dollar each.(Whatever happened to the $ 18 dollar haircut?) So when I asked she said it was because they had a lot of hair. This was not mentioned as she was cutting. It was a trim. but ok i guess thats what is it. I was fine until she said it was going to be $ 18 for the 3 snips and a 1 second buzz of the razor!!! I looked at her and asked you’re kidding right? she just looked at me straight in the face and said $ 68. It was ridiculous!!! was I wrong in getting angry? I couldn’t believe it!!! I would not recommend this place to anyone I know. If you do go there ask exact price before you begin!!!

You’ve heard of dinner and a movie, but how about haircut and a movie? This is my 8-year-old son’s first choice in hair salons in the area. They charge $ 18 for a kid’s cut and that price includes a movie. They have a huge screen and a big selection of kid’s movies to choose from, so the kids can watch a movie while they get a haircut. The chairs are perfect for kids who consider themselves too old for those little vehicles you see in places for younger children, because they are mini versions of the grown-up chairs. The theme here is Hollywood and they treat their young clients like stars. I’ve seen them offer girls the glitter hairspray to finish off their new do’s and everyone gets a lollipop. We have actually sat around here after haircuts to watch the rest of the movie. They take appointments, but we’ve always walked in and never had to wait long. The cuts are good by the way. Our favorite stylist is Jenny, but they are all good.

i love this salon! lynn, my hairstylist is great with cutting women’s hair(especially young women’s asian hair)! the interior design is really fun and they are family friendly and generally nice people. when they cut children’s hair, they take them to the back of the salon where they have a projector with movies playing so that the kids can be distracted while they get their hair cut. while prices vary and can get very steep over time, i can say that they are very reliable and attentive every single time.
