Both my husband and I have seen Dr K for almost 15 years! Excellent Dr with a wonderful personality! Patty, the front desk receptionist has been there a long time and has always been pleasant and accomodating with appointments. Yumi, theirHygienist is a bit rough but you leave there knowing your teeth are sparkling clean! 1 small negative: closed on Fridays. Would definetely recommend!

I love Dr. Kawashima and his entire staff. I’ve been going to him for almost 5 years and it’s just been great. Even though I now live up in SF, I still drive down to his office 3x year to see him. That’s how awesome he is. Patty has been great at rescheduling my appointments too.

Dr. Kawashima is a decent dentist, we have been going to him for about 2 years now. He refers you out if he doesn’t know which is a good thing. However, his office manager, Patty, drives me insane! There were a few times that I had to cancel or change my appointment, each time I changed my appointment or cancelled she would yell me. I would get a scoff and then she would question me on why I was changing my appointment. I had to cancel my daughter’s appointment because she had strep throat, Patty didn’t bother saying«oh I help she feels better», instead she said«oh, well I can’t reschedule you right now because we are busy». I totally understand that it’s hard to keep track of people’s appointment and it’s hard when people cancel on you but seriously, Patty, you don’t need to be rude about it. I cancelled my appointment the day of the appointment because I tried calling in on a Friday to cancel, my appointment was on a Monday. They aren’t open on Fridays and you can’t leave messages so if you need to cancel you’re screwed. She charged me $ 70 for a cancellation fee. Is it my fault that I can’t leave messages? She told me she left me a «reminder» call but I NEVER received a call from her. I’ve told her many times that she needs to call my cell phone but I found that she calls my old work #. Crazy and rude is the best way to describe Patty. Dr. Kawashima isn’t that good for me to stick around, with staff like Patty, why bother staying open? You might as well close your office because she will run your business to the ground. Good riddance to the crazy and rude lady! I’m not coming back and for goodness sake I hope you don’t have to deal with her.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Kawashima for almost 10 years … my husband even longer. He is an excellent dentist, very thourough, encourages and answers your questions. And his clinic is in the Metlife insurance networks!!!

I’ve been seeing Dr. Kawashima for years and have always been very happy with him. What I like most is that he always takes time to make sure all my questions are answered. In addition, when I mentioned his name to my family doctor some years ago, the doctor knew him and said he was excellent. I don’t understand the other review saying that Dr. Kawashima was not in the MetLife network. MetLife handles my dental insurance and I’ve never had a problem with their paying. But insurance is complicated and there are a lot of different plans so who knows what the situation was with the other reviewer.

Think twice before you go to see this clinic. I called to make a appointment and asked if they accepted Metlife insurance patient, the lady said«no problem». The truth is, Dr. Kawashima didn’t belong to any dentist network. which means he is out of network to any insurance company. The lady should have told me first, and instead she said no problem. In the end, as anyone could imagine, a lot of out-of-network charges to my bill… I called them again when I got the bill, the lady said to me, «you should have known about this before you call us.» — yes, it’s all my fault. That’s fine, I take that. and I’ll never visit this clinic again.
