Good taco stand, not the best in the world but satisfactory. Definitely worth the dollar tacos and hotdogs wrapped in bacon. ore clearly, these dollar tacos are served every day, not just on Tuesday’s like some water downed places. The cook only speaks Spanish, but the cashier is bilingual, so it’s solid. I’d go back…

Any NBA fan will tell you that the NBA was at its peak during the ‘80s. It was a highly competitive era filled with great players, teams, and rivalries. This was before underclassmen(and high school) draft entrees, large guaranteed contracts, and most importantly, over aggresive expansion completely diluted the product for nearly 15 years. In the late ‘80s, there were 23NBA franchises. Then NBA added the Charlotte Hornets, Miami Heat, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Orlando Magic in 1988 and 1989. In 1995, they added the Toronto Raptors and the Vancouver Grizzlies. And in 2004, the NBA introduced the Charlotte Bobcats as their 30th franchise. So if you do the math, in a 16 year span the NBA grew from 23 teams to 30 teams. And all this ended up doing was diluting the NBA product for several years, notably from 1990 to 2005. Just like the NBA, Tacos El Pichirilo has expanded so fast that the quality of their product has gone down. They added a small stand to 6th and William Street. More importantly for the sake of this review, the original 4th and Reed stand has changed drastically. And certainly, not for the better. Originally, they barbecued their meat and then proceeded to cook your tacos fresh to order. These days, the barbecue grill is gone and the tiny stand is only used to hang a sign that shows their tacos are $ 1.50. Now they have a larger taco truck where they have meat lying around in vats. And worst of all, the original cook is never around and has been replaced by some cook that can’t get anything right. Not even a simple quesadilla. The other day my quesadilla was awful. It had cold meat inside of it. There was barely any cheese. And the tortilla was super soggy. It was mediocre. Tacos El Pichirilo needs to scale back a bit and make sure the stand at 4th and Reed is top notch and all the logistics are taken care of before they focus on expanding. Currently, they are expanding too fast and too soon just like the NBA did 20 years ago. This was a bad move for the NBA. Clearly, it’s a bad move for Tacos El Pichirilo.
