For entrees, I’ve ordered the yellow chicken curry(take-out) and shrimp pad thai. The yellow chicken curry was good, but I wish the soup/broth itself was a little thicker… it was a little too thin/soupy for me in my opinion. The pad thai here is pretty good… the noodles were cooked just right, BUT, the flavor was just good to me, not great… my rule of thumb for pad thai is, the more red-orange it looks/the more red-orange the noodles look, the better the taste of the pad thai. Lol, the pad thai here just didn’t quite meet that criteria lol… The main reason for the four stars are the desserts! This place serves the best bananna fried ice cream thus far… yummy fried banana with pineapple coconut ice cream… never had that before and it was amazing… to top that, I’ve also tried their coconut pineapple fried ice cream… think of it as… ice cream wrapped around a delicious malasada=fireworks going on in my mouth lol… I want to give this place five stars so bad, but it doesn’t beat Red Chili in Hayward lol.

Literally the best Thai food you’ve ever had. And really decent portions. A lot of places skimp on shrimp or prawns and they dont, you get what you pay for. This place is always busy so you know it’s good. But if you order for pickup they are always fast and consistent. Super delicious thai and good service!

I enjoyed that Chicken Rama tonight. I had an enjoyable experience talking to Nika, the waitress, who more than others is pleasant and outgoing and friendly. It really is nice for the atmosphere when your server has a personality like Nika. The food is particularly good at Thai Grata.

The food: as spicy as you want it, served family style so big portions, decent price. Service was excellent, quick and cordial. Overall value: I’ve been to «authentic» Thai restaurants before, and have paid more for less in terms of quality and quantity. Also, the bathroom had super comfy toilet paper, like, way better than what I use at home, which pushed it from a 4-star to a 5-star

Absolutely fantastic! Came in on Thursday night, wasn’t too busy. Food came out pretty quickly. Got the Pad Keeh Mao(medium heat with beef) and the Chicken Rama Thai, as well as a side of rice. It was the perfect combination of sweet and spicy! Portions were great, service was great! Food was to die for! Nice and fresh! You won’t want to go anywhere else for Thai!

Love this family run business! One of my favorite Thai restaurants in San Jose. You know it’s going to be good when it’s full of Asian people. Everything is freshly prepared and full of flavor, not greasy at all. Gets really busy for dinner but the service is great and food comes out quickly so the wait might be just 15 – 30 minutes. I love that they ask«how spicy» when ordering because sometimes I forget to tell them mild. Some of my favorites: Golden Bag, Tom Kha soup, Pad Thai, Thai Honey BBQ Beef, the curries! Will be back to try the rest of the menu. YUM!

The food is good! Friendly staff and clean and nice ambiance! The spice level of food is little higher than some other places so be careful when you order spicy food :) Been there couple of times and overall had a good experience!

The spice levels in this restaurant is higher than many other thai restaurants. Be careful when you say Thai hot. Visited this place 3 times in 2 weeks. Food is good, and so is service.

Fair value, but great service. I’m a frequenter to this restaurant and have always had great service here. They are always friendly and accommodating to my requests for spice only on the side, extra spice on the side, or extra utensils. The wait for dIne-in on busy nights(Friday dinner) might be about 15 – 30 minutes. That said, Thai Grata is also good for take out orders. You can use your Five-Stars(one of the many online frequency/return visit rewards program) for any purchase($ 10 minimum) for carry-out or dine-in. I have never had any issues with the food as it always looks good and tastes great. Their Thai iced tea looks fresh(it’s a separate, layered color until you mix it). I always order their large(hotpot size) Tom Kha Kai and one of their curries. I agree with some Unilocalers here saying the portions are only medium-sized and you probably won’t have any leftovers if you’re really hungry. But I would still call the value«fair”-good. More Tom Kha, please!

Was here again in Friday for dinner with two of my sistas and I must say, it did not disappoint! We had the roti appetizer, spicy chicken pad Thai, yellow curry and seafood tom kha hot pot. ALLWEREDELISH& the service here is wonderful. I just wished they stayed open later especially on weekends. My husband and I have been going here for a few years now and I’m glad I’m passing on the good word to my friends and family who all agree that this place is legit!

Great place to eat for lunch and dinner! The ambiance of the place is perfect. Seems like it get pretty busy during dinner time, so I only come here for lunch. Great place for vegans and vegetarians as they have tons of tasty options for us. Service is friendly and fast. New favorite place to eat!

South San Jose doesn’t have many Thai restaurant’s in the area. I’ve seen this one but never came around to trying it. We sarted off w the roti and they make it different from what i’m used too but still good. Pineapple fried rice and it was worth getting again — 4 stars Pad Thai w crab meat and requested medium spice. Another I’d order again — 4 stars Chicken yellow curry was not that great so we definitely will not order it next time. Thin slices of meat and not a lot of flavor. The staff was friendly even though we got there a little after 8pm. Out bill came out to $ 50.

Do not eat here if you are looking for good Thai food. We ordered pad see ew and honey bbq beef with a side of rice and this was hands down the worst Thai food experience I’ve had in the Bay Area thus far. Our expectations going in were pretty low as we were looking for a convenient place to eat dinner before heading out to see a movie but this place challenged our low expectations. The side of rice came jn the shape of a ball wrapped in Saran Wrap and had a hard texture as if it was made the day before and left in the rice maker until being microwaved prior to coming to our table. A good portion of the noodles in the pad see ew were stuck together in 2×2 cubes with no sauce in between them. I think there were a total of four broccoli and«chicken» pieces. The honey Bbq beef was stringy and we didn’t taste the honey bbq which was very confusing. Perhaps if the price was comparable to the quality of the food we wouldn’t have been so confused about the whole experience but this restaurant is not cheap. We first received our check which came out to $ 92 — a calculation error on their part(very strange). Then they gave us a revised receipt and with tip came close to $ 40 — for two very bad dishes and a side of rice. :/ Maybe they are better with other dishes but I won’t be coming back to try.

I’m unsure how this place has such low reviews. My husband and I ate here for lunch this past Sunday, and we thought that everything was wonderful. We started with the crispy shrimp rolls, which came out crunchy and hot. I had the Pad Thai, my husband had the Pad See Ew, and we split a Basil Fried Rice. The noodles were full of flavor, and the fried rice was the best fried rice I’ve ever had at a Thai restaurant. As for service, it was fairly busy for lunch, but our waitress was really attentive. She was always refilling our waters when our glasses were getting low, and she was always checking on us to see if we needed anything. The restaurant itself was clean and nicely decorated. We will definitely be back!

update Review, the food and service here is still A-OK. When I walked in my eyes were greeted with Thailand inspired décor and colors. I ordered the lunch special yellow curry, with side of roti. The Spiciness is inconsistent everytime I come. Sometime too spicy to eat, and sometimes I have to add the whole container of Chilli. Over all the food is A-OK! The service is OK as well, when I needed something I would raise my hand in the direction of the waitress and nod, and she would come bouncing over.literally. She was the only waitress that seemed enthusiastic about her job which made it a more pleasant experience. So once again, try it you might like it.

What a nice find on Blossom Hill Road. Lunch specials: $ 7.99 or $ 8.99 your choice of tofu, chicken, pork, beef or shrimp. You start out with Thai Coconut soap; which was good tasting and an upgrade over regular soup. Kudo’s to Thai Grata for this little treat. I could have enjoyed the Thai BBQ chicken more, if it had not looked like it was cooked a few days ago; comes with choice of white or brown rice. Décor: clean, nice and upscale. Good A/C. Customer service: very good. Bathrooms: clean. Parking: easy. Will give 3 stars for benefit of doubt. will return.

it’s a 3.5. Golden bags seemed to be a big deal there so we ordered a portion to share. I found them way too dry(the filling). I then had a lunch special Pad Ka Prao, «hot». Well«hot» is really hot ! Watch out before ordering«Thai hot»!! It was nice. Slightly too salty but tasty. It’s the closest to the real Thai taste I had since I live in the south bay. Plik Nam Plah(fish sauce with chili) is available on demand. I think I’ll go back there for lunches.

I came here for my first time for dinner with my dad. Upon seeing the menu, my first thought was«wow, this is kind of expensive, but I’m craving Thai food, so hopefully it’s good.» We ordered the pineapple fried rice, pad thai, and red curry(mild). The dishes were rather large which was great since we were both starving. The food was alright; I definitely left feeling full. It was good but I’ve had better elsewhere. The fried rice was served in half a pineapple, so the rice at the bottom was definitely very pineapple-y. Yum. There was also a few pieces of shrimp but I personally thought the shrimp was not very fresh and slightly over cooked. However, the amount of pineapple taste in the dish was just right. The pad thai was pretty good. When first served, it doesn’t look like a whole lot, but the noodles are hidden underneath each other and it’s actually a very generous sized serving. Finally, the red curry with a side of steamed rice was delicious. My dad ordered it mild spicy which I thought wasn’t spicy at all. Next time, I’ll probably get medium. But the curry was really tasty. It had some bamboo shoots in it which was definitely a plus. One bowl of curry could probably be eaten with two or three bowls of steamed rice depending on how much curry you eat with the rice. The service was decent. We were checked on every now and then and they even offered to box and bag up our leftover food for us. I wish that the view out the window was a little better than watching people park for the grocery store next door.

We came here on a whim after checking out Westfield mall nearby. It looked like it could be good and thai sounded nice. First impressions when we walked in weren’t that great though. They had a sign-in sheet and no hostess so we assumed we’d just have to wait a few minutes. Then three others walked in and the hostess came and sat them first. Like, are we invisible? So we flagged her down after she sat them and she gave us a table too. I ordered the spicy crab noodle dish(medium spicy), and my boyfriend ordered the yellow curry and pad kee mow. For an appetizer we ordered the roti. The roti was served in small slices and a little thicker than we were used to. The curry sauce they used for dipping was delicious, but not quite enough for us when we were finishing the plate. The spicy crab noodles were delicious, although I found out medium is still a bit too spicy for me. I love how they use very thin noodles, and it was cooked perfectly. I have never had a thai crab noodle dish before, and this was an excellent new dish for me. I saved half for lunch a couple days later. Like most restaurants, the servings are huge. My boyfriend scarfed down his yellow curry which he loved. He saved his pad kee mow for another day, and loved it as well. The bill came out to a little over $ 50. That’s probably average for 3 dishes and an appetizer. They filled our waters pretty frequently, which was good. It was a pretty good place, we’ll be back if we’re in the area.
