It’s somewhat cleaner than any other liquor store I’ve visited. Plus, it’s close by work… I kind of just swing by and grab myself a bottle of wine after work. haha … yeah. And I don’t even like wine, but I enjoy the varieties here compared to my usual trip to safeway or target. There’s also some deals for beer here sometimes, you just gotta come at the right time, or be like me and just ask :) haha. I actually started coming here because of the name. :) Okay, it’s the sign, I love the ye’ olde get up. haha. But I’m glad I started coming.

One of the only places that I know of that sells Jack Daniels Green Label. That alone earns them 4 stars. Have only been there once, definitely intend on going back!

This place is down the street from my home, so stop by regularly. Despite being like every liquor store on the planet(perhaps), it’s actually really well stocked and has an impressive selection. They occasionally offer great deals on Domestic and Mexican beers, as well as some wines. They also have an impressive selection of Port, which is hard to find– even with BevMo nearby. TIP: when you leave the shop and are driving out of the parking lot, go around the back of the building and exit the south driveway, then you can make a left back onto Pearl instead of making a U-turn at Branham/Pearl. Because of being able to turn left out of the lot, I end up going here more than 7 – 11(which is next door).

When I lived down the street from this store I would go there all the time to buy my party«supplies» everyone that worked there was always nice and had good humor. They have good prices and good deals on some liquor not to mention a big wine selection.

I have no kind words for this place! My wallet was stolen on Christmas Day a couple of years ago in San Jose; the thief was able to use my credit cards at this store to purchase over a $ 100 worth of merchandise, with NO check for ID. As a matter of fact, this person tried to use one card first, but it didn’t work, then he or she pulled out the other with no resistance and bought a multitude of items in the store. Upon me finding out what transpired, I drove back down to San Jose to ask a management person how this happened. I was met with rudeness, disrespect, and a bunch of excuses. Later, this SMARMY woman had the audacity to try to turn the tables and say that I was trying to extort money from them because I lived in the East Bay and had no business being in San Jose. After being so infuriated by all this unprofessionalism, I made sure I called the SJ police and the BBB. Under different circumstances I may have presented a more favorable review for the store in question. However, customer service is a very important aspect of running a business, therefore, I give them a BIGFATZERO!!!

I’m not a conoisseur of liquor stores, however of the few I’ve been in, this seems to be a good one. The store is large, with a separate wine cellar. Given the size, I’m guessing they have a wider range of alcohol than most liquor stores. While it still had some porn mags(censored on the stand) the place was clean, and didn’t feel nearly as grungy as what I typically expect from a liquor store. The man who runs the place is nice and will stand and chat for a while. My fiancé and his brother had befriended him, and have been known to stay and talk for hours, and occasionally get discounts as a result. The only downfall is that if you’re looking for expert advice on your liquor, the owner doesn’t drink, so he can’t really help you in that area. One of the other employees might be able to be of service, though.
