I loooooove this place! My recommendations are ENCHILADASDECAMARON, chile verde Caldo de Res, ceviche de Camaron… I haven’t tried anything else cause I’m hooked on this. But you really can’t leave without trying their Super Michelada(aka Michelada de Camaron) they are super delicious. The owners are super cool and stop by to be really hands on helping out the customers more on weekends since they have jobs. You won’t regret coming in here really check it out!

My burger was dry. There was no other customers when I went in. The server was watching tv well we ate she did check on us once but we really didn’t need anything so I guess it was o. k service. I wouldn’t come back though only reason was my friends enjoyed her torta.

This location is not as good as the other locations. When I went in on a rainy day to have Cocido they were out! I was so pissed. I ate my Taco while other people were enjoying their Cocido. The Prices are HIGH. I will not be going back.

Trine’s #7 does not make the same chile verde like all of the other Trine’s restaurants. Trine’s #7 chile verde tastes like it was previously frozen or it came out of a can. Does not meet the other Trine’s standards.

Came here with my sis on our lunch breaks and she was craving Mexican food at the time. We were initially supposed to go to TK but we were like what the heck. Might as well try something new. Ordered the carne asada plate… It was I believe $ 11.80 and as the lady brought my food I was thinking why is the carne asada on top of French fries ?? Thought that was weird since I thought I was going to an authentic Mexican place. Anyways I tried the meat and it was kind of on the hard side and it was so think and lacked a lot of flavor. I though my sisters dish would taste better. She had the chicken enchilada plate. As I put the enchilada in my mouth I almost puked a lil inside. The chicken looked pink and it had a weird funny flavor kinda like detergent. The bill came out to almost $ 30 including the tamarindo and horchata drink. Should’ve just ate At TK. Waste of money .oh and btw they only accept cash! Never coming back again.

How can businesses get away with over charging every costumer! I went in to have a few beers. My total before taxes was $ 19.75, after i handed my card and got a receipt back my card was charged $ 24.93. WOW! Really! over $ 5 dollars of taxes on a $ 19.75 bill. Ridiculous. Conducting bad business. I will NOT be returning.

Cruising the area for late night eats when I run into Trine’s. It just so happens that I walk in on karaōke night and there are two people there singing Mexican karaōke in a whole deserted strip mall aside from Nha Em. It was a bizarre sight. I thought the nativity scene they had was cute. The lady must have noticed that I was a gringa bc she gave me hard shell tacos stuffed with a bland ground beef mixture, which I’m pretty sure aren’t what they eat in Mexico. If I was in the area, I would give it another shot for the cocido, but I would be wary of them tacos.

Trine’s is unique. Excellent homemade salsa’s. Breakfast hours seem to be packed. They are known for their ‘cocido’,(beef and veg soup) that comes with a side of corn or flour tortillas. Rice and beans. The food is fresh and good for the most part. Only had one indifferent day ordering the shrimp diabla which think will stick to the non seafood dishes in the future. For the location it’s not quite a huge restaurant but definitely not a hole in the wall either. Family owned and run, staff is VERY nice. Think Friday eves they have karaōke if you want to get your banda voice groove on or listen to it over dinner. It’s fun honestly to listen. Chavela’s are huge and made yummy fresh. The pricing on some items seem a bit high but overall would say fair. Cash only establishment hence if you forget that fact, there is an ATM in the restaurant. or the BofA next to the Marina grocery store in the plaza. Nice place. Friendly, family jaunt, good for kids,. cant go wrong!!!

I’ve only been here twice but both times I left satisfied. On my first visit I got two tacos, one with carnitas and one with lengua. They were good, but after a while all tacos start to taste the same wherever you go. I did like how crispy the carnitas were though and if there’s little chunks of fat included and that’s what I look for. On my most recent visit which was yesterday, I was a little hungover so I decided to order the Cocido de Res. It’s a nice warm beef soup with generous amounts of short ribs and you get rice, beans, and tortillas on the side. So if you want to change it up and not always have to eat Phở or TK Noodle for your hangover(or even on a cold, rainy day) I highly recommend ordering the Cocido. I also appreciate the nice service and how the old lady always goes from table to table asking if everything is okay. I will definitely be returning to try more of their menu items.

My wife and I come here often, tonight in fact. The service is very good, family owned and operated. The chef came out to greet us and asked if we needed anything. That is not vey common in a Mexican restaurant. The soups are excellent and the chicken machaca was very good.

Ahh another place I’ve forgotten to review since it’s been a while since I’ve been back to here. I used to drop by here for the occasional burrito during lunch. the other day i came here for a breakfast menu. I did appreciate that it wasn’t on the menu yet they just made it for me anyways. The taste was fine, even the refried beans inside didn’t bother me. What i thought was killer was for a whole breakfast burrito i was able to spend less than 5 bucks. Service here is pretty friendly, seems like a lil mom and pop type of shop and they are really patient with me. Which to me means a lot since i know i can be such a pain in the ass :)

OK so I haven’t actually been here… but! Before you disregard my review I have had their Cosido soup, which(thanks to my very wonderful mom) has been brought home for me on more then one occasion. I LOVETHESOUP! I don’t eat a lot of meat(could be a vegetarian if it wasn’t for this soup) and on most days would rather rather have something like pasta. But this soup is soo good I totally crave it thus this is where the ever talented and knowing mom comes in. She actually discovered this place on her lunch break with a co-worker and have since made it a staple in place to choose from on the cooperate 1 hour lunch break… if ya get my drift. So being the most wonderful person that she is, she has on many a time brought some home for me. Thus my loving review of the SOUP! I have yet to try anything else there but if I never do thats fine by me as long as they continue to serve me soup.

This place is good! The burritos were great! The meat wasn’t cooked until I ordered it. Great horchata and great service! Free refills on horchata! I felt like I was catered too at Trines. I would recommend this place to everyone who enjoys good mexican food!

I was looking for a place to eat and cure my hangover before helping a friend out with a music video shoot at a hotel on Monterey Road. This place was right by the hotel so I sauntered in. This place is tucked away in one of the weirdest strip malls I’ve ever encountered. As I walked in, I noticed a very depressing look on a lot of the fellow customers’ faces. Hmm. Not a good sign. I sat myself and was served some chips and salsa. The green salsa was pretty good, but the red, not so much. I ordered the two tacos plate which came with rice and beans. While waiting for my food, i saw that some lady ordered tacos, too, and saw that it was the crunchy pre-formed tacos. This was not a good sign either as I’m a huge fan of the traditional tacos. I got my food. It was sub-par at best. The tacos were filled with shredded chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese and sloppily placed on top of the beans and cheese so the beans just stuck to the taco shells. The rice, beans and cheese and tacos were bland. Whatever. It’s not like I cruise the Monterey Highway for kicks anyways.

They serve the best cocido. Perfect for that cold, winter day.
