Don’t waste your time coming here, if you want fish tacos or don’t have cash. They are not like their sister location on Alum Rock. The flavor was underwhelming, but edible. It looked busy when we drove up. I should have read the overall reviews before we ordered our food. We ordered 3 Carne Asad tacos, 4 Pollo tacos and bean and Cheese burrito. The flavors were blah. I won’t be coming back to this location. Go to the Alum Rock location. It is worth your time and money! Order the fish tacos!!!

Affordable and tasty. Recommend the shrimp ceviche! Great place to grab a bite.

This little Mexican kiosk in the most random strip mall center will fulfill all of your wildest Mexican food dreams at a cheap cost! I’d say the food here is solid and consistent. I usually order carne Asada tacos, carne Asada burrito, or ceviche de Cameron with tostada. The burritos are filled with rice, beans, and protein of choice. My arteries are clogging up just thinking about it! The tacos are street style with protein, cilantro and onions. And ceviche is also delicious! Everything I’ve had here is tasty. They are also very fast and efficient and the vibes here make me feel like I’m in Mexico myself. You can’t beat these prices! I always leave super full. Minus one start for the cash only policy. I would eat here more often if it weren’t cash only and it wasn’t such a mission to get in and out of.

Leaving another review because I don’t know what the big deal is about this place. Food is ok it not the best. Everything really has no taste. The meats, rice and beans. What really sucks about this place is that they charge you for extra salsa! I’ve never been to a Mexican food place where they charge for salsa. This place sucks!

Really quick service exceptional food. One star off for no credit card. Convenience would have pushed it over to 5 stars. Loved the food and service. 4.5 stars.

We came to this spot a little after 8pm. Stood in line and a young man behind the window said they were closed. We asked if they always close at 8pm, he said no. Their hours say 9pm on the window and on Unilocal and we drove from Tully. He said they’re closed and slid the window shut. TERRIBLECUSTOMERSERVICE… El Pollo Ricco is in the same plaza and Im SOHAPPY we gave our money to them instead. My chicken super burrito was superb and I ordered one to go. THATGOOD. I’ll be sure never to come here ever again…

I remembered seeing this place as a tiny little kiosk in the random strip mall parking lot years ago, and I finally got a chance to try it. especially since it’s practically a full on restaurant now. Thy have other locations too. I got a chicken quesilla with all the fixings. 2 Carnes ado tacos, some ceviche, And some horchata. Chicken quesilla had lots of filling but it tasted a bit bland to me. Lots of sour cream and guacamole, almost soggy because of all the cold toppings. Carne asada tacos were good, I’d get it again. Ceviche you can pass on, nothing special, and horchata was a but watered down. Not as rich as I’d like it to be. Service was good, but they seemed to cater to the Spanish speaking folks more :/my espanol is conversational but it seemed they offered the Latino patrons sauces and veggies prior to being asked and etc… nothing drastic, just small stuff like that Cash only. There’s a BofA in the same Plaza so you can always get cash. Parking is plentiful. Seating gets a bit windy, but okay. If come again for the tacos, but I’ve had better roach coach tacos.

This is the place to go if you want legit Mexican food! It’s independent own and I think it’s ca$h only. But mannn, their food is really good… spice or no spice it’s all great. Outdoor seating, with shade and it’s quite clean too. The only bad thing is the location but whatever… you’re not gonna get stabbed in the morning(I think) lol nah try it out! I’m glad I did & will need to go back soon!

Alot of my friends have told me to try this place and i finally did today. The food is excellent the environment is very clean. The bathroom was super clean. I got the ceviche shrimp cocktail with some fresh raw oysters. Everything was fresh and excellent. Price was very reasonable as well. I just wish they would enclose the patio area because there was a lot of wind that blew our paper plates away. Other than that I will be back for sure.

Lately, since the summer began, I’ve been looking for some really good tacos. Someone introduced me some wonderful tacos in Redwood City, but I’m always in San Jose and I ain’t down for the drive. So, I ended up finding another one in the area. This restaurant is in the opened environment. You order at the window, and there are seating under the roof. I can only imagine how cold it would be during the winter. The pricing was fairly cheap, but I do wish they had a little bit more meat to it. We bought four street tacos and one burrito. The street tacos had a pretty good flavor, again I just wished that it had more meat to it. The burrito I didn’t east but I must have imagined it was good because my boyfriend enjoyed it a lot lol.

I did like the food, but the outdoor seating was just not workable. I had a homeless guy bug me for change and took many times for him to get that I wasn’t going to give him cash for disturbing my meal. Also, when the wind changed directions, you had the strong smell of the dumpsters very close by the seating. The burrito I got was good. not your typical burrito. I really liked the tortilla is was wrapped in… if I was to ever eat here again, I would have to get it to go.

After many years of this place being one of my favorites, it still continues to be! The quality has not changed much over the years, they still have delicious tacos, burritos, and ceviche. I love getting the carne asada, al pastor, and lengua tacos! Any taco is delicious though, you can’t go wrong! If you’re ever in the area and want something nice and refreshing as the summer is ending, do try their ceviche. They have improved the quality of their oysters; they’re sometimes huge and oh so satisfying-the only downside is that they don’t always have oysters. A few cons though is their burritos can sometimes be dry which I think is due to the rice; their sizes can be inconsistent as well. They also don’t have fish tacos like the Alum Rock location and no guacamole either! Overall though, this is one of my top go to places for some Mexican food! It’s still cash only! Enjoy!

Mmmm! Growing up in San Jose, La Costa has always been one of my go-to spots for Mexican food. Every time I go here, there is always a line and it is always so lively. I always order the tacos, burritos and/or cocktails here. I never order anything else, maybe because I ordered the quesadilla once and I didn’t like it. However, I’ve noticed that their cocktail isn’t consistent. One time I ordered it, they had raw shrimp. Another time, they will have cooked shrimp. Whatever, they’re both good to me. Also, I’m not a burrito person. But, I really like their burritos! In their super burritos, I like how they use pieces of avocado. Mmmmm. They do also have their own hot sauce, but I prefer the tapatio. You can never go wrong with tapatio… Their service is quick! Their food is good and inexpensive! There is only outside seating, but it is pretty open and spacious. I usually always take my food togo anyways.

Quick summary: 1 — Cheap tacos 2 — Yummy tacos(love the corn tortilla) 3 — They NEVER have lengua(and by never — I mean I went 0⁄2), so you’ve been warned 4 — Al pastor is a good choice 5 — You have to request radish and jalapenos 6 — Their ceviche is a good amount for the price you pay(although I think the shrimp one is the winner) 7 — Nice to place to eat during a warm day 8 — They don’t have chips and guac(–1 point… sorry) My to-go-to for taco cravings in the south of the South Bay

Not the best of I’ve been visiting around the neighborhood, to be honest. «It is OKAY» I would not visit again if it is far from my place. Since it is only 3mi next to my cozy home, I would go for their Tacos con pollos– MAYBE. Pro –nice outdoor dining area –Very upbeat hispanic music to hype taco mood –Friendly customer service –Not so pricy(but not so cheap either) –Put out Tapatio & hot sauce on the tables Con –hot sauce is too watery.(Better than nothing though, so I put lots of Tapatio in my tacos instead) –People are smoking way too freely.(I was not sure whether I was eating cigarette or my tacos)

Came by for a light dinner the other day and the experience left much to be desired. Started off with a carnitas soft taco and it was very oily and came out all gooey… eek. Moved on to the carne asada quesadilla that was way too salty, didn’t have enough cheese and wasn’t too tasty… …the quesadilla was huge… Cash only

What a fantastic find!!! I’ve been living literally 10 min from this place and it is a shame I haven’t visited this restaurant so far. On a Saturday afternoon, my husband and I came here to get some tacos. It is a small hole in the wall restaurant with plenty of outdoor seating area. Cash only, luckily there is bank of America in the same complex. I bought a plate of soft tacos with rice and beans and my husband’s choice was a chicken burrito. I also got a glass of ice cold horchata. The tacos plate is generous, with two tacos, avacado, shredded lettuce and a couple of slices of tomatoes. They were delicious! The rice was good and I loved the pinto beans with cheese. Thank god, I got a to-go order and ate it at home. I was licking away the plate to glory. The chicken burrito was fabulous too! The burrito fillings perfectly complemented one another. Utterly enjoyable meal. Can’t wait to return and try more from their plate. The next time I visit, I will check off Chile Verde from my to-try list.

Yummmmmmy! Came here with a gf after getting our hair did cus we were craving TACOS! After living in California for almost all of my life, legit Mexican food is definitely the ONE thing I missed when i moved to portland. I had carne asada and al pastor. Both were seasoned sooo perfectly. So juicy and tender :) they’re topped with your usual onions, cilantro, and their special salsa. The salsa is whatever and they don’t have a salsa bar which sucks, but it tastes just as good with the tapatio they provide :) The fish ceviche is REFRESHING! It was delicious on top of the tostada and it’s a pretty generous amount of fish. It even has cucumbers, which made it so refreshing. Perfect for a hot summa day! CASHONLY

Lets taco bout it! First time hitting this place up for lunch and it was the best decision of the week. Quality + quantity! I got 4 tacos for $ 6, each taco was $ 1.50 each, is it my birthday or what? I got 2 carne asada, 1 al pastor and 1 carnitas since they didn’t have lengua for the day. But it’s ok, I know I’ll be back! The Al Pastor was my favorite, meat was tender and marinated deliciously. The first bite was heavenly and so was every other bite after that! Carne Asada and Carnitas were good too, but tasted ordinary for me. Would definitely be back for more Al Pastor and I want to try the lengua. I didn’t get the burrito but was really close to trying it. At $ 4.95 for one it was a little hard to pass up. Maybe next time!
