5 stars for me, mainly because of the hospitality. I’ve been buying water and lunch here for years now. The owners speak very little english, but every time I’m in there they always strike up a conversation with me. I love it bakery or not.

I’m not sure this place is actually a bakery… at least not in the traditional sense. I wandered in here one day around lunchtime while strolling through the neighboorhood where I work. I had already eaten, but i saw the sign that said bakery and thought that i might stop in and get some after-lunch goodness. To my surprise, and disappointment, it wasn’t really a bakery in the traditional sense. They didn’t have bread or pastries or anything like that… they had bun beo, which are like deviled eggs but instead of eggs, they are made with rice noodle and mung bean. So as not to be rude, i went ahead and ordered a package, i actually do quite like the dish. but they weren’t that good… tasted like they had been sitting for quite some time because they were pretty hard and had a pungent aroma. I don’t think i’ll be ordering that again. They do have a bunch of other stuff here that is made out of rice noodle, i’m not sure what all of the names are, but i have tried most of them at other places before. I’m kinda wondering if the rice based stuff is BAKED hence the bakery claim… They also sell candy, international phone cards, filtered water and various other stuff, kinda like an ice cream truck would have… I don’t want to give this palce a negative review because they have so much different stuff here and it’s quite convenient… but as far as a bakery, if you’re looking for baked goods, this isn’t your place.
