Not very impressive. First trial class even charge more than regular class. The teacher’s technique is not as good as other under the table reviews. The class room is very messy and dark and clam.

Sheng Wang is an outstanding artist and a local treasure from a land far away. We purchased an original piece of work from him(an acrylic piece painted not with a brush but a knife – it’s AMAZING and everyone comments on it when they see it) three years ago that is the center-piece in our living room and admire the artistry daily. And he is skilled in so many areas: acrylic, water color, and ceramics to name a few. As if that weren’t enough, he’s a patient and kind teacher for children. It is rare for an artist to have both exquisite art skills as well as the ability to pass them on to his students.

We first knew of Sheng Wang as an artist(we have a beautiful sculpture he made), but recently became aware of Wang’s art studio for ages 4 and up. There are 18 classes, typically no more than 8 students per class. The art students of Sheng Wang, artist and teacher at Wang’s Art Studio, achieve a remarkable number of gold and silver medals in the annual World School Children’s Art Exhibition in Republic of China and are the only ones from the USA to be awarded gold or silver medals. In last year’s competition(the 39th annual), 60 countries participated and submitted about 30,000 works of art. Wang’s students won 2 gold medals and 1 silver medal — pretty impressive that Wang’s humble studio does so well in such a large and global competition. Wang teaches mixed media: — water color — oil paint — ink — acrylic — oil pastel — clay — day flower collage — drawing(pencil, charcoal) — paper art We visited the class today and they had a Thanksgiving theme(drawing turkeys and such). Sheng has an easy, fun teaching style with the kids. When my son is old enough, I might enroll him in his art class(the only deterrent is it’s not close to our house — it is close to the Grandparents, so that may be good enough). Weekend classes are busy, weekday classes generally have more openings. Classes are taught in English and Mandarin. The studio is located in a little strip mall near Halal Meats, just across Duckett Way from Sogo Bakery and Sogo Tofu.
