I usually just order the Pad Thai and Tom Yum soup. Delicious! My boyfriend’s credit card was charged twice. He called the restaurant and we were told to bring the receipt the next day. The owner took care of it immediately. The only downer, no parking. Not their fault.

The drunken noodle is so good. I almost couldn’t drive after. Don’t sit outside… first of all its small and the sidewalk is slanted.

My 2nd time here last night and had a great experience. I ordered the Spicy Pork & beef soup… hella flavorful, had it medium spicy and added some of the ingredients they give you on the table. Forgot what the beer was, but it was $ 3 and was tasty! My friend got the coconut milk soup(i think thats what its called) I did not like it, but he is a huge fan. Can’t wait to go back and try something else!

Great food and excellent service. Went Saturday night and had a wonderful experience. Our waitress was friendly, helpful and attentive without being around too often. We had the vegan spring rolls which were obviously freshly made and very good. Then I had the Pad Kee Mao Basil noodles with seafood and my wife had the pepper garlic pad thai with chicken. We both loved our dishes and I thought the sweet basil sauce for my dish was wonderful. The seafood in the noodles was good and the mussles were very good. We ordered our dishes medim spicy and there was some spice, but I’ll ask for spicy next time. I actually found myself thinking back fondly to dinner several times on Sunday, so it was more enjoyably memoroable than most of my recent dining experiences. We had a flight of sakes with dinner and all of them complimented the dinner in different ways. We had their special black bottle imported sake which was best as a before dinner sake. I loved it then, but it’s subtle nature was lost with the food. Their house sake was a little but harsh and slightly bitter without food, but complimented the food better than the black bottle sake. The third was an Asian pear flavored sake that was quite enjoyable both before and during dinner. It has a slightly tart component that worked will with the sake. The most unusual sake was a coconut lemon grass flavored sake. It was like a nigori sake with the coconut milk and was interesting before the dinner. With dinner this sake really brought out and enhanced the spice in our dishes. The menu has a lot of variety and I have been told that they will make most of their dishes vegan or vegetarian on request. They have vegan broth for their soups, so I’ll probably check those out next. I would give them five stars for value, service and food quality. They’re only four stars for ambiance(there was a Sharks game on TV when we were there.) I might upgrade them to five stars if future visits are as good as this one.

For a late night food option in downtown, it’s nice to see that there is something else besides fast food and Mexican food. I’m always down to eat Thai food, so when we saw this place, we had to come in. The atmosphere is pretty cool overall. It was like a restaurant combined with a lounge. However, there were some strobe-like lights that were slightly a little distracting. I ordered the drunken noodles with chicken. I’m a big fan of spicy food so I had to get it spicy. Good for me, there was a good spicy kick with every bite of noodles. There basil, along with the other flavors were very flavorful and blended pretty well together. The spring rolls weren’t so great however. The peanut sauce was pretty warm and fresh, but the spring rolls were really lacking shrimp. The service was okay on the most part. Our waitress would come by here and there to check up on how we were doing. I do like how there’s also a bar in here and even like that they have Shock Top on tap. If I’m ever hungry downtown during night hours and don’t want to have a burrito from Iguana’s, I’d definitely would consider coming here.

Like C M. said below, I was definitely not«WOWed». I came here with my bf and ordered regular pad thai with chicken, tom yum, calamari, and bbq pork spring rolls. I mentioned the Unilocal promotion for free thai iced tea but was told they ran out. Hmph. We also initially wanted the pad thai with duck but they ran out of that too. Our waiter apologized but it was still a bit disappointing. The pad thai was very mushy and didn’t have much flavor. The tom yum was actually pretty good. Generous portions of each ingredient. Definitely the best dish out of everything we ordered. The spring rolls were mainly noodles and not much meat. They were also very loosely wrapped. The calamari was just okay. I felt like there was more batter than calamari though. I’ve had much better thai food elsewhere, so I don’t plan on coming back.

I was craving noodle soup the other day after a failed wonton noodle soup experience from China Palace in milpitas the night before. My boyfriend frequents this place and has always had good things to say, so I dragged him in here for lunch. I agree with previous reviews that the décor is a little strange, but the service is excellent. They seemed under staffed, but our waitress was still very sweet and attentive. R and I shared bbq spring rolls for appetizers. I ordered the house special noodle soup while R ordered the pad thai. Since they were understaffed, it took a while till we got our food. I think the waitress could tell I was starving and anxiously waiting for our food because I would sit up whenever she came out with plates of food and sink back down when I realized it wasn’t for us. haha. She finally came by and told us when our food was just about ready, so I sat back and relaxed a little. The spring rolls I thought were good. I don’t really eat much spring rolls, so I can’t really compare. I prefer the heart clogging fried version(ie. egg rolls). When the noodles finally came, I took one sip of the broth and«MmMMm!» I was a happy girl! It had a Lemony taste and aroma. I think they put lemongrass in it. The soup contained rice noodles, chicken, beef, shrimp, fish ball, veggies, and that delicious broth. It reminded me of phở, but better! Minus one star because the beef in the soup was low quality, tough and chewy. I ate everything else and left the beef in the bowl. I was so into the noodle soup that I didn’t even get to try my boyfriends pad thai. I’ll have to come back and try more.

I have to give this place 4 stars. 2 stars for service: the lady who plays hostess/waitress is sooo sweet. I’ve seen this place during the busiest time: Lunch Hour. She is absolutely fantastic at her job. Very sweet and helpful. She really is very attentive to the patrons. 1 star for décor and location: quirky, asian and sci-fi? lol. Oh, and it’s near SJSU. Cheap food+great location=Happy kids. 1.5 star for food: Cheap. Quality is a hit or miss. Stick to what you read on Unilocal

This place drew me in because of the free thai iced tea. I should have known better to trust that. The place itself isn’t bad looking. Not much seating though, maybe 25 at most. The server was friendly, but was pretty apprehensive in giving me my free drink. C’mon. I decided to order the pork pad see ew. They got the ew right. It did not taste awesome at all. The pork was funky, and the noodles were just not right. The spiciness was off. Obviously I did not finish my dish. WOW is right. Wow this place sucks.

In for the free thai tea with Unilocal promo: D. Thai food is just too damn good to really screw up. That being said, their roasted duck curry was still mighty tasty. I’m not sure why they had a bunch of coffee tables with no seats in the middle of the restaurant? Maybe they want to give the diners more individual space? I dunno, I feel like a divider or even some plants might’ve seemed more natural. It looked like a day care. If you found the Darth Vader helmet say Aye!

I haven’t written a one star review in a long time. I don’t like doing it, particularly to small businesses, but either I came on an exceptionally off night, or this place needs to make some major changes, and I feel like people who see the undeserved 3 and ½ stars need to be warned off. The incomparable Brooks H. and I were very excited to try a place that – at least according to their window signage proclaiming«Phở Thai” – combines two of our favorite cuisines AND is open late. We came in wanting to like this place and incorporate it into our dining out rotation, and were massively disappointed. We ordered the roti with Panang Curry and two beef soups. My sister and her fella met up with us and ordered the roti, the yellow curry, and Pad See Ew. Despite the fact that they had the booze-induced munchies and we were famished, cold, and practically fist-pumping and singing Bön Jovi at the idea of a big bowl of soup, no one finished their meals. As other Unilocalers noted, the roti was unpleasantly greasy but otherwise edible. The Panang curry was appropriately spicy, but otherwise unpalatable. My sister said the noodles had a sock-like aftertaste. The soup was NOT phở, nor a creative, fusion-inspired reinterpretation of phở. It wasn’t even decent soup. The pieces of beef were thick, chewy, and leathery, like cheap cuts of meat boiled in water. The broth lacked the delicacy of your average bowl of phở, with a cloudy, bouillion cube appearance. Ugh. Just don’t do it. So bummed we wasted our money and our time when a can of reheated Campbell’s would have been more economical and satisfying. Sad face.

WOW! This bums! And I am using exclamation marks to hide my disappointment!!! After reading all the good Unilocal reviews, a few coworkers and I decided to try out this place and… blargh. I… just… blargh. Granted, I ordered probably the ickiest thing on the menu — vegan tofu noodle soup. Just the sound of that was unappealing. I don’t know what I was expecting but it just seemed like the only healthy-ish thing. The soup was very, very hot. It came with vermicelli and vegetables, though a bit sparse… It had celery, cabbage, carrots, and some pickled vegetable(maybe mustard green?). The soup base was slightly sour, and mildly spicy. There wasn’t that many pieces of tofu chunks in it. The texture of the tofu was not all that great, either. What was I thinking, ordering this item? Friends ordered their roti dishes with curry. The roti was VERY greasy, and they definitely did not give enough roti for that bowl of curry. It would be nice if it came with a little bit of rice. Twenty minutes after I had my noodle soup, I felt like all the water was being sucked out of my body. I was so thirsty that I could potentially shrivel up and become a mummy!

My brother was borrowing my car for the day so public transportation was my only option. I was on my way to the VTA/Light Rail stop when a neon«Phở» sign caught my eye. It was cold that day, and I’m a major phở-natic,(ba-bum-cchhhh… crickets & silence). I figured I’d reward myself for an awesome day at work so i dropped in. Clean, nicely decorated interior. I sat at a booth, went straight for their soup selection, and ordered the beef noodle. Kinda disappointed because it didn’t have the distinct phở taste that I was used to. Plus, it had huge chunks of beef that were a bit tougher to chew rather than the thinly cut rare beef that i liked. It was pretty good soup nonetheless. Service was prompt and polite. I’d definitely come back, but I’d probably go with something else from the menu.

Saw all the great reviews on Unilocal about this place, the 4 stars, along with the raving reviews about their Pad See Ew. Called ahead and was greeted by a friendly phone operator! The Pad See Ew duck was $ 12 and the Thai Iced Tea was free since I mentioned Unilocal and my order was over $ 10! The dish itself left much to be desired. The noodles were dry and tasted like they hadn’t been drenched in water long enough for them to «grow.» The duck wasn’t super fresh and tasted like yesterday or two-day-old duck from 99 Ranch market w/the bone included! …oh and the broccoli was yellow in the leafy area… which I assume meant that the broccoli wasn’t too fresh?!? …plus…who uses the stem only of the broccoli when cooking? I requested the dish to be medium spicy and it came out as such… I must admit that it’s the first time I’ve had Pad See Ew with spice… isn’t that Pad Kee Mao or drunken noodles?

3 stars says A-OK which is exactly what I thought. I trust alot in Unilocalers reviews since I am down to trying different places, and sick of the usual. I read alot about the roti and yellow curry, pad see ew and fried banana ice cream. I was sold on the roti since I love that stuff and was having a sweet tooth craving for the fried banana dessert. Before actually having the first chance of dining at the WOW Noodle House, we actually came 3 times prior, all different days and times and they were closed. They should have their business hours on the door or atleast put a note on when to come back. Unilocal hours for this business is totally false information. I tried calling everytime after but no one answers and there’s no message recorder with any business info. I figured a business can’t be closed everytime we came but yes, they actually were. So the day we actually got to eat here, I did wait till someone answered the phone before making another round. So yay, we get to come, finally. The restaurant has a cozy, urban Asian feeling but we opted to sit outside so he can smoke. Ordered the above and also calamari and Thai ice tea. Our waiter was friendly and service is good. BUT I really didn’t like the fried calamari, it was just too much batter and oil and unpleasant. The roti and yellow curry was good but I’ve had better else where. The pad see ew was very garlic-y and overwhelmed the whole dish to me. The fried banana ice cream was one word, delicious! The presentation was nice for a little noodle house and juice bar, price is reasonable. They validated our parking also. Overall, I had a nice experience but I think my expectations was a bit higher or I may have been frustrated with the calamari and previous times of trying to dine here. I was told they open late on weekends so if I’m hungry in the late nights after downtown SJ clubbing, I would def. give this place another try… Just wouldn’t try go in the daytime again since their hours seems to be up and down.

WOW! Self-explanatory. Came here for a private dinner/birthday party so the restaurant was closed to the public but it was a packed house with friends. Fun night! Don’t sleep on this — it’s a MUSTTRY! * authentic & delish dishes * beyond reasonable prices * very warm & friendly staff * fast service * cozy & cute restaurant

I don’t know if it was just an off-day for them, but when I went, I was not WOW-ed. I ordered a large house special soup and it was tasty, yes, but it was lacking in substance. My bowl was large, yes, but there were definitely not as much noodles as I expected(from reading other reviews) We also ordered the calamari, and it had weird breading. I don’t remember if we finished it, but we probably did because we didn’t want to waste food. At least the staff was nice. I asked for hoisin and she didn’t know what it was, but she brought out what she thought it was, and it was hoisin. at least they got the sauce. Their thai tea was pretty good too. and they always refilled our water. 1 star: soup is good/they have a good amount of things you can add to your soup/good thai tea 1 star: nice staff — star: not enough in large order — star: calamari — star: not in my price range

I’ve been to WOW three times now. The first time I was definitely«wowed» — my pad see ew with beef was delicious. I ordered it medium spicy and I was mopping my face within minutes(which isn’t a bad thing, if you like spicy, like I do). I wasn’t able to finish the dish myself that first time, so took the remainder home and had it for breakfast the next day. YUM-O! This week, my 7 coworkers and I walked over and I got to see a lot of different dishes. But I was craving the pad see ew again, so ordered it again. This time, it was full of egg, not many noodles and not nearly as much beef as the previous time, and had way too much black pepper. And, the portion was noticibaly smaller; I easily finished the whole thing. Today, I got some takeout. I got the BBQ Pork Noodle soup. It was okay, but not something I’d get again. The pork was 50⁄50 lean and incredibly fatty/gristly, so it was difficult to eat. I wasn’t keen on the broth — I can’t identify the flavor but it was stronger than I prefer. Ordered medium spicy and again, I had to redo my makeup after sweating so much. So… I am still wanting to go back and try something else. And I’ll still order it medium spicy. Do note that«medium» at WOW Noodle House is like«spicy» at most other places. I’m just sayin’…don’t be surprised. Service here is excellent, and the interior design is colorful and fun. I would like to see them even out the food and portion issues though.

After spending all morning in Mountain View and Santa Clara, my son and I were hungry with a capital«H». We decided to drive back to San Jose, park downtown and find something for lunch. When the original place we choose didn’t sound so hot after we read the menu posted on the outside of their establishment, I peaked around the corner and saw the word«noodle» down the street and thought any place that serves noodles can’t be all that bad. We walked down the street to find WOW Noodle next door to an Asian fusion place and a sushi restaurant. We were happily greeted as we entered found out you seat yourself. Everyone was very casual which was nice since we were while on vacation. I ordered the BBQ pork and rice which came with a side of soup made from chicken broth, bacon bits and chopped cilantro. I ate the soup and put the leftover cilantro on top of my pork. It was basic, fresh and good. I had an iced tea to drink. My son ordered an egg noodle soup with beef and he asked for it to be medium heat, but with yellow curry, he was sweating all the way through the meal. He drank one iced water and two Mexican cokes before he gave up and said he was full. The bill was $ 24 and some change which I was perfectly fine with considering the three drinks as well. Thank you WOW Noodles — you saved lunch!

Great Service Delicious Noodle Soups! I LOVENOODLES! I’ve tried Duck Noodle Soup and Combination noodle soup which were delish. Chicken noodle soup was good too but not as good as the duck and combo soups. Gotta go back and try everything on the menu! They validate also, so you can get free parking in dtsj.
