Del Taco

This location, next to the freeway, is where I go to grab lunch when I’m near Mission San Juan Capistrano. Haven’t had a bad experience here yet. My fish tacos were cooked nicely wrapped nicely the table are clean

Got food poisoning at Del Taco yesterday Jan.25^th, 2016! Bad! Don’t eat those «steak» tacos!

Worst service ever from the manager wouldn’t honor my $ 1 coupon said it was to many numbers! My sister said she would pay him$ 1 to clean the dirty place up! Rude and there were no beans in my burrito and I paid extra for the big one! Dirty and needs a good cleaning! The reason for one star is the nice lady manager who was very helpful every time!

I grew up eating Del Taco. Back in high school and college when you could eat anything and it didn’t effect your body. Slowly, however, we weeded ourselves off it as we got older. While we still have great late night memories from back in the day, trips to Del Taco only occur after 10 pm now, when better quality food isn’t available.
This was the case as we drove back to LA from the Chargers game (yes, you guessed it, they lost). Other than even worse fast food options (McDonalds, BK, Jack N The Box, etc) Del Taco was open. We parked, walked in, ordered and struggled to find a clean table to eat at (it wasn’t busy, someone could have wiped them down). In fact, the restroom was disgusting, too.
Meanwhile, after about five minutes of the staff chatting, they walked up the counter and took our order. There’s nothing wrong with food served. It’s the low quality, average tasting Del Taco you’d expect. However, when it comes to value it’s a good buy, even if you have a stomach ache a day later. If it’s price you’re attracted to — this is your spot. Otherwise, unless nothing else is open, keep on driving.

This used to be a real good Dell taco I don’t know what happened I must’ve change the staff or maybe they’re mad about the construction next to them! The food I received this morning was terrible double Dell bun very hard, cheese quesadilla burnt to a crisp with no cheese…“just terrible here don’t bother getting off the freeway!!!

Food is fine but the service is done by a few high schoolers passing their time. What does «no lettuce mean» lettuce please? We are not able to perform simple directions. The food that is thrown out by people that can’t do it right, we could feed a small country.

Thank you for tearing down that gas station and putting the focus on this row of fast food places!!!
I love this section of restaurants, all of them, having driven through this stretch of Ortega 1000’s of times, these places have been great.

This place is fast, fast fast. This definitely looks like a newer location (not sure if it has been here a while and was remodeled or just looks more modern because it was built that way).
The drunk girls in the drive through in mini-​skirts wandering around? You probably won’t have that experience, but once they got back into their convertible, the line moved fast, and the staff seems very friendly here. I can only imagine how many drunks they have to deal with on a busy weekend night.

So the wife reminded me that this Del Taco was the location that we stopped at after I had proposed. I am a romantic, what can I say.
This Del Taco location does it just right though. The number 4 is the only way to go — two chicken soft tacos with french fries and a drink. The chicken soft tacos actually have quite a large variation between locations. Del Taco 966 definitely does them right. The chicken is not overly dry (showing that it hasn’t been sitting for a very long time) and they put in just the right amount of cheese. The fries are crispy and done just right. Don’t forget to pick up some Del Scorcho sauce to finish it off.
If you like Del Taco this is a good location to stop at.

Crispy fish taco is really crunchy and delicious, chicken soft taco great and cheesecake bites creamy and dreamy.

At first sight most will notice that this Del Taco looks nicer than most. I love the wall sconces on the exterior of the building.
I originally visited this location via the drive thru. Out of all the Del Tacos that I have been to, this one makes the BEST tacos (Check out the .39 taco deal!). They stack neatly just the right amount of Cheese, meat, and lettuce. This is what makes me come back!
I prefer to support local shops (I won’t Unilocal them though :) .
4 Stars because I like the way the prep/​cook works. Clean and takes pride in her work.
