Hadn’t been here in forever! Decided to stop by for a root beer float– big mistake. Sooo gross! I went back and told them I thought maybe they accidentally used diet root beer, nope– their root beer floats are really just that bad. Didn’t know it was even possible to make a bad float! I’ll never go here again.

Got here at 9:30, the door was unlocked and the posted hours(and Unilocal) say they are open until 10pm but they turned me away and told me they already closed the lobby. The drive through was still open but I couldn’t order at the counter or eat inside.

The food is always good here they just have some weird guy at the drive thru giving you this corner look like you put something in your food

If they open at 10, why are they still closed at 10:15? Doors locked, drive thru closed also. Ok. People were trying to get in and go thru the drive thru. So, they just started leaving. Thought I’d wait and see. Nothing. I won’t be going back. Not a good look.

Just bad service, food was okay, my brother’s swirl was half empty when given to us. I don’t like it when the person ringing up my order has a little attitude like she doesn’t want to be there. My brother took a while thinking of what to order and the lady was tapping at the counter as if making him think faster, it’s really rude. You know sometimes people pay for places to get nice service too. So thanks, this will be the last time my family will be going here for such unpleasant experience. Will make sure to let my Unilocal friends know as well.

No wonder I have not gone back here in so long! The worst service ever! I came here on the way to my mom’s place as I was caving a root beer float. I saw they had a cheesy coney hot dog, too. There was no line when we came here. The young lady, I will call her ‘C’ as I know her name but won’t post it; helped us but informed us that the root beer machine was not ready. This young lady gave us no smile and starry look; could perceive this as an attitude to others. Another young lady in back said the machine was ready. So we paid for two large floats as it was $ 2 for any size and two cheesy coney hot dogs. We waited awhile for our order. The guy with dark long hair said the root beer was not ready. Seemed he was the manager but gave us no smile and looked so out of it! He asked us if we wanted a coke float instead. We said ‘fine’. While the so called mgr was checking the soda machine, the cashier ‘C’ told the mgr to take the cashier while she did the shakes for the previous customer. There was another staff member in back helping with the food. They could have helped? She left the cashier while more people were in line to order. WOW! She left the customers hangin’ while she did the shakes and I could see, she took a sneak sip of her drink in the back. She could have called out to the customer with a smile, ‘we’ll be right with you in a bit’ but no, she left the cashier. The mgr didn’t do anything as well and kept working on the soda machine. We had to ask about our cheesy coney hot dog as we didn’t get it yet but I saw they finished prepping it. They got it wrong, too! That cashier is worthless. She didn’t even get our order right and ordered the coney regular hot dog only! At that, it was burnt chili and salty!!! Gross. Convenient location but worthless staff… we will not come back… :-|

Driven past this place many times, so I don’t know why it took me so long to get here. Maybe it’s because it also houses a KFC, which strikes me as an odd combination. Love the root beer. Burgers were ok, just wished they had told me about the raw onions in my burger. Fries were excellent. Thin and crisp. Gotta come back here for the soft serve ice cream and the root beer floats. Easy parking.

This place is terrible! I had to tell l the manager to clean the soda area because it was covered in flies! Then the kid behind the counter came and cleaned the air vent that was at least a couple inches thick of dust above the table next to us. He stopped after a shot him a dirty look! Then to wash my hands in the bathroom topped it off! No paper towels and crap everywhere! Disgusting!

This place is disgusting. Dirty, flies, nats at the drink fountain. I let my son talk me into coming here. Won’t happen again. Needs an inspection.

Back in the day when we lived in the area, we used to always come to this location with my Dad when it was just KFC. A couple months ago, we went back. It now has A&W items included with the KFC brand. The restaurant seems to be bigger than it used to be as well. Definitely cleaner too. On this most recent visit, we did not eat in. We had takeout to bring to my Sister’s home. The service we received on this visit was very good. The staff was quick and efficient. As usual, we ordered original and crispy chicken along with sides of mashed potatoes & gravy, corn, biscuits, and cole slaw. Even a pretty good size lemon bundt cake was included in the deal. The price was reasonable, and our order was ready within several minutes. Our timing was perfect. All the food tasted delicious. The staff even included plates and utensils without us even asking. Even though, I’d still come back to this particular KFC purely for nostalgic memories of the past… based on this most recent visit, I would come back here regardless. Good job KFC in San Leandro!

I use to come here all the time when I first came back from college. And I still occasionally visit. This is my favorite KFC and A&W just because people working there are friendly and the food is good. They would’ve received 5 stars if they hadn’t stopped serving the A&W rootbeer from the lever. It’s still being serve but it’s in the fountain machine. :( The jukebox never worked but I like that they still have it. Gives the place a nice ambiance.

First time ever in an AW outlet and it was a mindblowing: –no menu with items and pricing –just pics with an item solo or combo pricing. –hot dogs hard to find.(stuck this one on top). eats: coney bacon cheese dog(1.99) –onions, cheese(whizz?), bacon bits, etc, –dog had no taste, no wondor so much toppings on it. 2 stars take outs. –bummed out hamburger only made well done –service was quick, cordial, polite. –menu as is prompts impulse buying.

Since when did we buy fried chicken in buckets? I guess KFC started a revolution. If you’re not from here and you’re not in the mood for fried chicken or root beer, you can move right along. I find the facility usually messy with tables that need to be cleaned and fries on the floor. From here on I just go through the drive-through. The chicken is just as good as it is anywhere else, and they’re pretty efficient with their orders. Skip the A&W burgers, you can go elsewhere.

My coworker wanted a hot dog so we came here. I will NOT return. The root beer is just not good enough to make up for the crap service. I asked for a Chili Cheese Coney combo(dog, fries and drink) with onions, no root beer float upgrade, PLUS a side of cheese curds. Yes, I am a fat ass. No onions or fries arrived. I asked about my orders problems, and was presented with rude expressions, and snappy responses. I decided to not even pursue, onions and fries aren’t even worth a loogey. I do like the root beer though.

Takes me back to my childhood when a Root Beer Float was sucha treat! Remember? In elementary school, Pizza Parties or Root Beer Float Parties were the reward for some fundraiser or contest? Root Beer is not something I typically buy at the grocery store, so its a nice thing to have once in while. Not to mention, all American concession food — Hot Dogs, Hamburgers and Chili Fries. Yum! When I feel like eating junky, its here or Sonic to the rescue.

I went here a lot of time when I used to work at Nordstrom Rack. There’s always a parking spot during the lunch crowds and the service is pretty good. You can choose to have KFC or A&W, what a match?! I would always order the A&W menu because it’s cheap and delicious. Oh yeah, do not forget to order the Root beer float… Mmmmmm! =p

The Fantastic-4 took a little rest from shopping and landed at this A&W restaurant for lunch, which is connected to the KFC. The two adults had the special, which is the«Big-Papa» Cheeseburger. For $ 1.99, the cheeseburger comprised of two beef Patties, American cheese and the usual condiments on a typical Burger. The kids each had a single cheeseburger and faired real well. And of course, we can’t leave A & W without having their signatured Root-Beer float. We each split two 20 oz Root-beer float on a stein-like glass mug. The $ 3.99 root-beer float tasted real well with our special cheeseburger-meal. The very nice glass mug is ours to keep. This A & W doesn’t have any merchandise on sale at the actual restaurant. But you can purchase some of the cool items online. Out all the Fast-food places, the A & W franchise is clearly one of our favorites by a landslide.
