I needed a part for my fridge that I thought was broken and the person who helped me not only fixed it but also tested to see if it worked which saved me any need to buy a new one. I had another part to buy which came in a couple days and was easy to pick up and priced very reasonably. The guys who work here are very knowledgable and helpful. I was referred here from someone at Home Depot and I’m glad I came!

The staff here are knowledgeable and helpful. The prices are fair. I have fixed my Kenmore washer and dryer relatively inexpensively using the parts compared to hiring someone.

What a pleasure to deal with a reputable company they responded to my need for a magnetron for my microwave and it was sent out almost immediately it was there before I hung up the phone I’m so impressed I will continue to do business with this company thank you for your service

Since it’s getting to that time of the year again to finally start warming up the house I finally broke down my dad to get our wall heater fixed in time for the season this year. We called APD and a young man helped us over the phone and told us we needed to bring in our generator and explained how to take it out. We brought it in the same day and had it tested by him. He helped us with finding a new one and was very patient with me because I have a tendency to ask a bunch of questions when purchasing new appliances. So thanks for being patient and helping us save money Anthony. Keep up the good work :)

Coming here was an experience to say the least. Definitely a small business. The guys behind the counter are a bit unorthodoxed but have done wonders helping me with my projects over the years.
For newer customers remember your model number and give them a call to verify stock before wasting your time driving down.

As the reviews indicate customer service varies greatly at APD. It all depends on the person serving the customer. I was very lucky to have Eddie provide the outstanding service last week. Eddie gave the time and his full attention in getting the correct parts and in instructing me on how to replace the electric cooktop element. He took me over to a floor model of a cooktop and explained patiently and clearly on how to also replace the burned out block. This kind of customer service is extraordinary! Eddie deserves some special recognition for being a model employee.

I have gone into the store several times in the past few months. The men behind the counter need some customer service classes. First it takes them forever to address that you are at the counter then when they do it is not courteous at all. I brought the part in that needed to be replaced, and they always want the model, make, year of what you want the part for. So you have to make multiple trips. Last time I gave them all the required information they sold me the wrong part and because I had to try it to see if it worked, they would not return the part. Very bad business practice.

Went by here to pick up a part. The guy behind the counter had ZERO personality & customer service. So sad. It used to be such a great place, but I’m talking like 30 yrs ago. Good to hear the same guy owns it, my grandpa used to be friends with him when he was alive. I remember going with him to apd as a little girl and Sil used to give me a quarter from the cash drawer so I could go get a soda out of the machine that used to be in the front of the shop. I have fond memories of that. However this trip totally soured the experience for me. Customer service at zero. I had to give it 1 star just to post the review. We ended up going to the fremont apd where we were greeted right away, even with a smile! Unfortunately for the San Leandro location, despite them being close to home, we will go to Fremont store from now on. I’m really disappointed and saddened by this.

Visited the store in Dublin, they sent me to the San Leandro location for a oven hood that I needed. Nice guys, great price and very helpful. I will be using them in the future.

The guy that helped me sold me the wrong replacement part and was obviously not knowledgable in relays & contactors. I believe he consulted other guys in the shop as well. It would make me question their knowledge in other areas as well. I ended up with the wrong part since he said he didn’t have anything like the old heater relay I needed to replace. He sold me an A/​C contactor he had was the closest to it.
I ended up at the APD in Fremont the next day. The guy there knew the exact part I needed instantly. It turns out the part is not obsolete and very common.

Eric is insanely helpful. He made my life much easier by saving me the time I would have otherwise wasted trying to figure out how to fix my dryer. As if that’s not enough, their prices are very reasonable.

These guys are great! Amazing how they have always had what we need. We have been going here for years and will continue to do so! And thanks for being open till 4 on Saturdays.

This is the place to go for all those «post warranty» parts you need. Their stock selection is incredible. I walked in the door on a Friday morning, and was greeted with a smile by two of the guys behind the counter. I showed them what I needed, and one ran to the back, came out within two minutes with the parts I needed.. . That simple. Nice exchange of small chit chat and away I went.

If there was an option to rank them ⁰⁄₅ I would, but unfortunately I would have to settle for a one star (THEY DO NOT DESERVE IT AT ALL). I came into the store with a great attitude asking very politely if I was able to return something I had bought earlier the day (it was an item that was not needed). However, immediately I received attitude from the workers there (do not know his name). I may be an asian girl, but I am still a customer and should receive the same respect as any one else. He told me I could not return it because there were signs that I used it (OF COURSE I WOULD, it was the part i thought i had to replace, come to show i was wrong so therefore returning it!!) instead of politely telling me, I got the cold shoulder of getting tossed back the item and saying we cannot do anything about it and that was it, no sorry, no bye either. RUDE. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. THEY ONLY WANT YOUR MONEY AND AFTER THAT THEY DONT CARE ABOUT YOU. I would recommend anywhere else but here.
I agree with the comment below that i would no longer give them my business and will also let anyone know they should not shop here.

I don’t understand the negative reviews! Somebody below me said they are slow to deliver… NOT the case at all! I went in yesterday picked out a stove and it was delivered and installed this morning with a VERY reasonable time frame I more than likely will be doing business with them again. Two thumbs up to these guys!

APD is a great 1 stop shop for all the parts you’ll need for your appliances.

Yeah for excellent and knowledgeable customer service. Both my husband and I called for our 1946 model heater! I called about a transformer and he called about the ignition control and gas valve. They allowed us to ask numerous questions, since I have no idea what any of this is, and when we got there they had the parts set aside and remembered speaking to us!

So I called this place last week bc my motor coupling broke on my washer and was greeted by Erik who was very helpful. He said they had 610 in stock to be exact. was there in minutes and the part was waiting for me! First thing he said was, «don’t over load ur Washer!!!» I started laughing bc it maybe have been true.17 bucks later I was happy and out the door. Thx erik!!!

In a little more detail:
Got a new-​ER hand down fridge. So excited, but, two days later, wondering why it’s not as cold as it should be. I’m no repair gal, so, of course I start calling around. Our popsicles are melting. I need to figure this out FAST! So I open the Yellow Pages and start calling. Called Azer and got a quote for a diagnostic that could be applied to the repair.
Called a few other people and got some ideas as to what could be the problem, Freon issue, fan – all around $ 200+ to fix. Then I called Colyer’s and the man I spoke with told me it would be easy for me to figure out if it was the fan. He even said that I could easily remove the back inside panel of the freezer which is likely held on by a couple of screws and I’ll be able to see the fan. I quickly empitied the freezer and, though I was lacking the best tool for the job, I removed the panel and the fan was not moving. The guy at Colyer’s suggested I give the fan a nudge and it that might start it working if it just got stuck after being stored. I tried… nothing. But he said that I could remove the piece containing the fan and bring it to him and he can put it on for me for less than half of the cost of a repair at my house. That was great news, but he was too busy that day and could only do it the next day. I thanked him and told him if I couldn’t find someone that day, I’d be in the next day.
Well, here’s where Appliance Parts Distributor comes in. They had the part in stock ($ 100) and said they could put it onto the assembly at no additional charge. YAY! I brought it in and the guy who helped me got the factory part and realized the fan had been replaced once before with a generic part, but it had been re-​rigged so the factory fan could not be used. This turned out to be great news because the generic fan was less than $ 30. The guy (Eddie, I think) told me the fan had a wire that had not been ‘grounded’ which is what probably caused it to short out. He installed the fan, grounded the wire and helped me find the right tool to help me re-​install the panel with the fan. I got it home, put it in and HALLELUJAH! The wonderful sound of the fan had me ready to bake these guys brownies!

I would always pass by this store and never stop by. Well, my bf and I just recently moved in together and guess what the stove is broken. So, our neighbor suggested that we come here and get the part from here. The price for the range was about $ 45.00, damn that’s expensive! Well, we needed it in order for me to cook. The customer service that we got was great and the staff have knowledge about what their selling to the customers. Isn’t that something… All the stuff that they were selling is very expensive and non-​returnable if the product was special ordered and/​or is electrical part. Doesn’t that suck!!!
