The service here sucks… it took 20 min for my waitress to take my order… another 20 mins for napkins… and the waitress keeps disappearing!

Terrible terrible service. Not even ¼ full and the service was still slow and rude.

Too bad Unilocal doesn’t allow no star because this Chevy’s establishment deserve none what so ever. I came here with friends for happy hour after our wonderful hike. Since we came from hiking, we were all quite famish. But I kid you not that no one came to serve us after nearly sitting there for 10 minutes. The waiter even had the audacity to ask if we had service already? Umm obviously not! Trust me the service didn’t get any better, it took them nearly 30 minutes to get our order out and its suppose to be happy hour.(No, it wasn’t packed at all it was freaking 5 p.m. on Sunday). It gets even worse from there because my friends both needed refill for their iced tea and strawberry lemonade but they were completely unattentive that I had to get up and go to the bar to get my friend’s drink while my other friend gave up on her getting her refilled iced tea. It was just awful. Just when you think it couldn’t get any worse, they messed up on charging us. I ordered the least and got charged the most despite informing the waiter of how much to charge on each card. Overall horrible experience to the point that everything sucked from the service to the food.

Food is what we thought it would be Chevy’ not too bad on the food front. They have to get it together on service. seems like its always a mess and i am always begging for another beer.

I had a better experienced with other«mexican» restaurants. The food is not that authentic but I guess it’s because it’s like a mixture of mexican/american. The people for some reason don’t look like they are supposed to be working there. I did not get greeted like most restaurants do, they just popped up and started to attend me. The food portions are great by the way and it is hot inside on a hot day, just saying probably because there is a huge gap to the inside of the mall.

Such mediocre ratings and reviews??? Went here for happy hour last week and it was great! We had 3 appetizers 4 beers and a cocktail and the bill was $ 28. You cant beat that! If you know me i ordered a hennessy & coke and got that but better… she ended up giving me hennessy privilege & coke at the same price! =)))) The staff was friendly, restaurant was big and organized and the restrooms were very clean.

FRESHMEXVISIT: On a Thursday just around 5pm. Parking lot pretty narrow for SUV parking plus crowded closest to mall entrances, so I parked in the back closest to E.14th St… plenty parking & less likely ppl accidentally hitting ur car. SEATING: 4−5stars w/service & food in their Catina-Bar & Dinning Area. On this visit, my 1st time sitting in their would be outdoor patio to the hallways of Bayfair Mall. Unfortunately w/this visit, I will prob not request to sit out there again & wouldn’t recommend it. SERVICE: Hostess, awesome. Waitress was doing good ’till we finished our apps & realized we were chatting a bit long amongst each other because our entrees hadn’t arrived yet. Being the only table in their Patio Area, we had to flag any waiter/waitress down to find out how’s our food coming along. Finally arrives, & whadda know…2 Fajita Orders come out NOT sizzling & serving dishes not only«touchable», but«holdable» because it just wasn’t hot =(Next 2 orders for the table, food & plating was just slightly warm & not hot @ all =(My party & I quickly asked to return the food, which was done & corrected promptly w/the mgr bringing out our food w/sincere apologies. Definitely appreciate the quick correction to our food order & mgr’s personal visit, but needless to say the rest of the dinning experience had already been soured. FINALLYTIP: Best service for THIS location I say is the Catina-Bar Area(Happy Hour only in this area also), then Dinning Area. Avoid Patio Area or even Dinning Area IF you’re the only patrons in that section else you might be forgotten & your food gets done in the kitchen, but may not necessarily make it to your table while it’s still hot. NOPICS: I’ve been here numerous times, but sadly enuf this being my FIRSTTIMEEVER to return food, I have no photos for my Unilocaler Peeps on this dinning trip. Sending food back threw me for a serious loop! I thought I’d only experience it on Food Network’s Restaurant Impossible shows w/Chef Robert. FYI: Maybe it was just this location, but liquid hand soap bottle in ladies bthrm were ALL watered out(SMH). Glad I keep hand sanitizer in my purse. I went to Chevy’s Union City just 4days(previous wkend) & was informed by waiter they’d be changing the menu for healthier options. Now 4days later, I did notice a change in menu options, but also in price… price increase various items $ 0.40-$ 1.00

Less than 3 stars WTF? Well I wouldn’t be surprised if it is but my experience here was great. I never cared for Chevy’s food but their chips are freaking amazing! I love that I can sit inside a mall too(ok I’m just weird). Food: Uh…did I not mention I don’t care for this food??? I come here for the chips. They have happy hour come here for that if anything. Service: Amazing service. Though I found it weird that the manager patrolled around to see if everything is okay, but skipped my table(and only my table). That left a bitter taste to my water… Ok I’m over it the waitress was nice 5 it is! Environment: It’s Chevy’s they all look alike Price: Pretty expensive Mexican food considering all the joints around but it’s not outrageous. Food: 3 Service: 5 Environment: 4 Price: 3

I’m giving this place 2 stars only because they have a pretty good happy hour drink menu, and that’s it. I ordered the blended seasonal cranberry margarita, and followed that with a blended strawberry margarita, both totally yum. But the yum stopped there. The chips and salsa that they brought out were good, completely fresh and tasty as usual. Service was pretty speedy as well. I ordered the Nachos Grande. Big mistake. Huge. The chips were stale. Super stale. Surprising, especially because the chips that they brought with the salsa were pretty damn good. Sigh. Being as though this place is pretty close to work and is an ideal after-hours hang out spot for my co-workers and I, I will probably come back here again. For the happy hour drinks. Just might consider a different appetizer next time. Or ask for fresher chips.

For a chain, this place is a little above average on my rate-o-meter. For food, their chips and salsa are very tasty! The salsa isn’t too hot, it’s a good mild and I love it. Honestly, I have to say of the 4 times I’ve been here, it’s only been for happy hour. Why is that? Because it’s amazing here! Their margaritas are HUGE and SODELICIOUS. I’ve tried the strawberry, pomegranate and watermelon. All full of flavor, and totally worth the $ 3. I also ordered the nachos here for happy hour which were a good deal because you get a giant plate loaded with chips and toppings for $ 5. As for their usual menu food, I haven’t had any since I was a young kid, so it’s hard to rate things other than their happy hour. This location is right in the Bayfair shopping center with lots of parking. Chevy’s is right on the outside so you can eat and then go walk around the mall to kill some time(and avoid a DUI).

Server was friendly, and food came out quickly, but no silverware was on the table. Had to wait 10 minutes for silverware and tortillas. By the time I was able to eat it, my food was cold. AND I was sitting there with my 18 month old daughter, who was ready to get out of her chair by the time I was able to START eating. No silverware? Come on. That’s like restaurant 101. I’m sorry, I left a $ 1 tip on a $ 20 meal. What a waste of my time and energy.

10 minutes: Wait for hostess while staring at empty booths all over the restaurant. 15 minutes: Waiting at bar to get a drink while waiting for a table without even a «Hello.» When I asked if we could order a drink after 15 minutes, the bartender huffed«give me a sec» and returned to making her line of ticketed drinks. Screw that. We left the bar area. 20+ minutes: Waiting for a table. +1 star for our waitress who was massively over worked but was as on top of things as possible and was doing her very best given the lack of adequate staff to handle the volume of customers. Food was your typica«Meh» but some how addictive Chevy’s food. They were out of a bunch of the drinks we wanted. $ 5 for a bottle corona is highway robbery.

To be honest. I like Chevy’s. When i crave for a Mexican«american» dish, I come here! Do I come here and expect flawless service? No. Do I expect the waiter or waitress to always be super helpful and nice? I HOPE for it. Its a casual joint that everyone will occasionally get a few negatives here and there. BUT I do have to say, my food has always came out the way I wanted. So far. I come here to enjoy a casual dinner with my husband in the bar area. Service seem to move a lot faster than the dining area. The dining area needs to REALLLY hire more servers or get more help because service is almost always super slow. But the bar area moves a lot faster and they’re pretty cool and helpful. I love their salsa with chips and flautas! Thats pretty much what I order every time. Occasionally I’ll order their fajitas, but flautas are my fav! So if you want to try it out, go during their happy hour and sit at the bar!

California meets Mexico… not quite authentic, but not all that bad either. I really only come here for one thing… the chopped salad, but I customize it with steak and use the salsa vinegarette dressing. After reading the calorie count of the other items on the menu, I realize that this is probably the safest! When I feel like splurging, I order a prickly pear margarita… not too tart and not too sweet! This location in the mall gets packed, so I usually opt to sneak past the people waiting for the dining room and sit in the bar area, which usually has no wait! Fresh warm chips and salsa here are free and my favorite! The waitstaff is usually friendly and service is fast, so I will return for my favorite salad!

December 9, 7:00 pm. I met a new friend at this Chevy’s for dinner. It was a little bit of a wait because they were busy. We had a small Caesar salad, a Combo Platter and a Fajitas Steak Taco Dinner. We shared from each others plate. The food’s not all that, but what do you expect when you’re eating a bunch of processed shit? Spent $ 39.00 including tip.

Ugh, really bad experience this time. I was here about 6 months ago with family and friends, and we had an OK experience. Today’s lunch was awful. They were understaffed(and admitted to being so), and their food tasted like it came out of a donkey’s a… nevermind, you know what. They didn’t have place settings at the table until AFTER the food came. As a result I spilled a copious amount of(albeit delicious) salsa on my shirt and lap. We had to go to the front desk for our check — that’s how slow they were. My boss’ pita/tortilla for his fajitas didn’t come until he asked(well after we were served). Even with the coupon, it was a crappy deal. NOT going back.

Omg how bad could a place be? So we were seated almost immediately and handed menu’s. The restaurant is practically empty and there are only 3 tables with people besides ours. After about ten minutes our waiter comes by and briskly asks for our drink choices. We give him the drink choices, plus waters all around. We tell him we’re ready to order. My friend gives hers and is cut off by the waiter who looks as if he’s in a hurry. I give mine. He quickly runs to the table behind my friend. He then comes out with two waters and precedes to give one to my friend and the other to the table behind her. I ask him for a water, he says sure and rushes away. Another waiter then brings us chips a few minutes later, and I ask him for a water. The first waiter comes back and heads to the table behind my friend. He realizes after putting down a drink of theirs that the beer goes to us. He slides it over to my friend and finishes giving the other table their drinks. Including mine. Then he tries to leave. They call him back and they hand him my drink and a couple of theirs and say that they weren’t what they wanted and order the correct drinks. He looks confused then looks at me and sets mine in front of me saying, «they didn’t drink from it.» Ick and *shudder I ask for water again and he says sure before rushing away. I ask him when he comes back where my soup was that I’d ordered. I couldn’t eat the chips because of mouth surgery and needed to eat so I could take my meds. He says yes and again rushes away.(I’m not kidding, you’d of thought the place was full to the brim the way he hustled) Another waiter had a big plate of waters and finally sets one down in front of me. Less than 5 minutes later another waiter brings out our food. And five minutes after that the other waiter brings out my soup. My friend notices that the graduation party of 6 in the corner has red drinks with whip cream delivered to them by our waiter all around. She then notices that the drinks are then all sent back untouched a few minutes later. He comes back after our meal and asks if we need anything. My friend who was not happy at that point with the service, if you can call it that, asks for the check. He brings it out and then we don’t see him for awhile and finally get up to pay at the front. The food was good and it was the only thing he had nothing to do with.
