Horrible customer service. Came with my husband and 9 month old son on a pretty chilly night and the door is locked. That’s funny because on Unilocal it says they close at 11pm, on the door is a hand written sign that says they close at 10pm but at the moment(I’m sitting here at the place writing this) it’s only 9pm. The waitress comes to the door and sticks her head out as she looks me over like I’m going to rob her and says«Oh it’s take out only!» Ok that’s also funny because I see many Asian patrons still eating inside?(Mind you I am also part Asian). Hesitantly, I ask for a menu. Feeling alienated but also starving we order here anyway since we have no energy to find another place to eat at 9pm at night. I get to the register and order honey walnut prawns and shrimp fried rice which comes to $ 26 bucks! Whatever I hand over my credit card. Luckily, I checked in with Unilocal and quickly showed her my 10% discount and guess what? «Oh we don’t accept that anymore!» I couldn’t believe it!!! Wrong hours, rude service, and false advertising! Needless to say we will NEVER come back here again!

I wanted to give a good review even went to Unilocal to check other reviews before I placed an order. Me and my partner ordered salt and pepper prawns, salt and pepper pork chop, sweet and sour pork, and noodle soup via eat 24. The salt and pepper prawn tasted like someone dumped salt on it it was so salty how could anyone eat this, the sweet and sour pork was disgusting the pork didn’t taste fully cooked and the salt and pepper pork chop was salty too, but not as salty as the shrimp. I didn’t even try the soup because everything else was inedible I figured soup was going to be an issue too. I was disappointed that I spent $ 40.00 on this and we didn’t eat anything and went to bed irritated and hungry. I passed this place so many times, read the Unilocal reviews and waited till we had money to go there. Me and my partner are broke college students we would have been better off going to the grocery store… To her a weeks worth of food. That’s what we get for trying to not eat healthy, lesson learned ! I really would like our money back.

I’m so happy I’ve found a Chinese restaurant close by me with decent food. Given, their items can be a dollar or so more expensive than it should. Their deep fried pork chops were awesome. I would come back for that. The combination fried rice was so good, we ate the whole thing(and was super carb wasted afterwards), the general tso’s chicken was also good(but the chicken was a bit skimp). My complaints: — the mushroom and pea leaves had virtually no mushrooms. Almost all leaves. The picture was deceitful. The plate was too expensive for no mushrooms. — the salt and pepper fish fillet was good, but man, can you say msg? So much msg that it was too salty and we had to dip it in vinegar to wash it away. We could visibly see the msg and how much was used. I will return to this restaurant for Chinese food, but I will need to figure which items are good and which items need to be flushed out.

Wow, this placed increased their prices 20−30% in a one time jump! Won ton soup used to be $ 6.50, now $ 8.50… Their 3 plate dinner used to be $ 22 with soup, now $ 27 and 90% of the time they stated«oh no soup today» My reply, «but you’re still charging the same price?» Waiter laughs then replies, «Yeah, i will give you more rice instead»…Booooo

Saddens me that I have to lower my rating on our local and go to Chinese restaurant. Since the ownership change: 1. Our favorite host, John, no longer works there. He always took care of us and never got our to-go or dine-in order wrong. 2. Current staff seemed perplexed with their own menu as they are not sure if they serve an item we’ve been ordering for years. Also, we have showed up several times to pick up our to-go order to discover that it was never put into the kitchen, or it was wrong. 3. They claim that the kitchen cooks & staff are the same, but judging by the quality of food over the last several months, my acute palate tells me otherwise. Most recently, their staple salt & pepper pork chops was neither salty or peppery. It tasted like battered pork chops with fried garlic slices. Also, the congee, jook, is neither smooth or tasty and watch out for MSG overload. Sorry to say, but time to find a new local, go-to Chinese restaurant.

This spot is one as Nelly would refer to as, «Half black and Asian!» Lordamercy Jesus – these fried p chops taste like I made em. Everything I ordered with special instructions/request for extra garlic, extra onion and extra garlic on erthang was exactly what I got and they did just that with an order of perfection galore. Tasty and fresh; I’m happy that Unilocal and EAT24 got married, because the product of their love satisfies my love of food in my most comfortable and most favorite place in the world to savor: my house! Another thing: an order of hot mustard does NOT come in a package, it’s the real deal in a container – love is in the details, folks. Now, not everyone would be willing to shell out $ 46 plus tip for lunch, but given its good, hot fresh and delivered from their kitchen to my door guarantees that I won’t have to leave the house for at least three days! For a foodie-homebody like me? That alone is worth time plus food plus delivery charge plus tip plus gratitude. I’ve learnt one thing today: Daimo means DAMNMO to me here in Tha Dro because that’s exactly what I wanted after eating this great meal in the comfort of my home, on my couch with my dogs charming and the DVR on blast: some Damn Mo. Thanks D; nice service and gentility displayed by the delivery guy. Old school service(came 30 minutes earlier than estimate) and order was precise(and I have a lot of extras) and the experience was worth every penny. Nice cloudy day to be alone, full, and unbothered by choice! A surplus of my favorite foods makes the weekend baby!

This was an immediate need for dinner, so I was the one to go do the pick up run here at Daimo. We got the Salt and Pepper Pork, and the Chinese brocoli. The food is okay. I usually have to wait about 15 minutes or so but that is fine. Dinner for about $ 24, not bad. The food is consistent and the service is fine too. The place is nice looking and never has that many people so always quiet. Sometimes we do go in and eat but usually this is our take-out spot since there really are no great options in SL for Chinese food which is too bad. We will be back.

Good basic Cantonese/Americanized Chinese. I think I prefer the branch in Richmond, but this place is satisfying without having to make the drive for only slightly better food. Crowded and noisy(as all good Chinese places should be), I generally get food to go. They have a pretty broad menu, but stick to their strong suit(Cantonese).

I can’t review the food since we never received our food. So, I guess I can tell you about their service –_– My family and I came in on Saturday night at around 8:00PM. We were immediately seated and had our order taken. Our server stopped by a few time to refill our teapot as we waited for our food. And waited. And waited. We honestly didn’t think too much of it until we saw a server placing food down at an empty table. Thinking it was our food, we made eye contact with him. He noticed us and he asked, «Has anyone taken your order yet?» =O We told him we had placed an order about 20 minutes prior. Then, the following exchange occurred between him and our server in Cantonese: «Did you take their order?» «Yes! I gave it to you!» «Oh…I guess I didn’t put it in.» We had to pick up my brother from the airport, so we cancelled our order and left hungry as the servers went back to eating the food that was set on that empty table. Such a waste of our time.

OMG the Wor Won Ton soup and the Potstickers are out of this world AMAZING!!! We were in town with some friends who were craving some Daimo so we stopped in for dinner. At their recommendation we all shared the Wor Won Ton soup and 2 orders of Potstickers. Let me just say that I am now obsessed with their potstickers! They were the best potstickers that I have ever had. They were a little puffy vs the deflated noodle of typical potstickers and the pork filling was juicy and flavorful. I need more!!! The Wor Won Ton soup was equally as tasty. Service was great and we all left full and happy. I cannot wait to return!

November 21, 2015 Saturday — 9PM for dinner 4 adults Atmosphere — 4 star Food — 5 stars Service — 4 stars Background — Our friend has been craving this place. Had to make sure he got some before we left the bay area. Atmosphere — Looks like place has been remodeled recently. I love the fish tanks in the back. There is a horizontal line of pictures at eye level when sitting with each menu item. Food — Drinks — Hot green tea, served family style in a pot for all. Meal — We all shared two orders of pot stickers. I could have ate those all night. I also had some Mongolian beef, a solid choice. I want some more of those pot stickers Service — Good. Simple, polite and good. Future — I know if we are in the area again we will be a good chance.

My in-laws were looking for a place that had Beef Chow Fun as a takeout request from Grandma. Short of Delight Garden which is a madhouse on the weekend, our options that I know of were a bit limited. So when we found out Daimo had it, we came here for lunch with them first. We ordered 4 items to share family style and unintentionally, we ended up with dishes that were more vegetable based so I admit I ended up being hungry an hour later. We started with preserved egg congee with what we thought was fish but ended up tasting more like chicken which was pretty good. Then we had the salted fish and tofu claypot(which is one of my favorites at Chinese restaurants) spooned over some white rice and apparently everyone else’s as well as that was polished off fairly quickly. The last two dishes were pea pod sprouts with some egg and sauce and Malaysian Chow Fun with shrimp. Both were decent but not the best I’ve ever had to justify the higher pricing for vegetable heavy Chinese food. FYI, Unilocal check in offer discount is valid for M-Th only.

Hayward has limited options for good Chinese food. We’ve been settling for the only place that delivers in our area. Boy we were missing out. Diamo blows that place out of the water. It was delicious. The honey walnut shrimp was amazing. My boyfriend still raves about. Will definitely be coming back.

Daimo seems to have lasted quite a while in San Leandro, right on East 14th. The whole neighborhood here seems to be getting nicer with the addition of a new Peets, Chipotle, CVS, and T4. We came here for dinner after a long hiatus to celebrate a birthday for my wife’s niece. Overall service was friendly and the food I’d rate 4 stars for the price. This Daimo is much smaller than the one at 99 Ranch in Richmond, but I think the food is better. We ordered six dishes: Westlake minced beef soup — Easily serves five and pretty good. Just a tad salty. Sweet and Sour Pork — Good balance of sweet and tangy for the sauce while pork was lean and not overly fatty. Beef with Green Peppers — Nice large pieces of tender beef. Not skimping here! Tofu, Mushrooms, and Bok Choy — Excellent. I liked how it was not super drenched in gravy. Green Bean Chicken with Walnuts — Very unusual combination but it works for me. Double crunchiness from walnuts and crispy beans. Steamed Black Bass — At $ 15/lb for a 1 – 1.5 lb live fish not bad. They did a good job with the classic ginger-soy-scallion combo.

Chinese food… Not the greatest when you think you found the holy grail of Chinese food and the food comes out dry, bland, and leaves a bad taste in your mouth and gas out the other end. Here, none of that occurred to me! My friend and I were hungry after a long day working on building a deck for his house and we wanted food… mucho food!!! My friend has more experience with the place, so, we decided to take it to go. My friend ordered two Pork Ball Soups, Fried Pork, Mushrooms With Fried Tofu and Fried Fish(A Must!!!), Crab Meat With Vegetables, Beef Chow Mein, Beef With Black Pepper Sauce Dish, and a free dish that included Shrimp With Vegetables. I cannot comment on the pork since I do not eat pork, but the rest of the food was incredible! Big portions too! I could not contain myself with the deliciousness of the beef, to the savory fried tofu and fish with mushrooms, flavorful vegetables… sooooo much food and yummyness in my tummy!!! The favorite dish, if you haven’t guessed it, was the fried tofu/fish with mushrooms. I can eat that dish any day of the week. I need to come back and try the duck. My buddy says it’s never a good idea to order duck to go since the crispyness of the skin can lose that texture and become soggy. Also the wontons and more. I highly recommend to come here if you are super hungry and want a delicious dish to fill your tummy! Being latino, I may one day bring a special Asian lady friend here to impress her with my Asian knowledge: P Overall: Excellent food, Great price, Great service!!!

I used to come here a lot for their wonton noodle soup when the size of their wontons were huge! I came today for lunch for the first time in a year or so and ordered their wonton noodle soup and it just wasn’t the same. The sizes of the wontons are smaller and their noodles seemed undercooked with the chewy, rubbery texture. It was still good, just not the best out there anymore. We also ordered the yin-yang fried rice and beef tendon noodles. The fried rice has red tomato sauce with chicken and onions on one half and coconut flavored white sauce with shrimp on the other half. I usually like ordering this at other Chinese restaurants because you get 2 for 1. The portions of the rice was enough to be distributed amongst 3 – 4 people too! The beef tendon noodles had the same chewy and rubbery noodles as the wonton noodle soup, but the beef was tender and wasn’t chewy so that was good! I would still recommend this place for some authentic Chinese food. They have a wide selection of dishes such as sweet and sour pork which I always like to get when I’m here for dinner.

Though this is one of the nicer looking Chinese restaurants in San Leandro, the food is just okay. It’s a totally fine choice for an «I’m too tired or cranky to cook» night, but if you’re wanting something really good that’ll make your night, then I suggest SF or Oakland for that. I say stick with stir-fried vegetable dishes and steer clear of the fried ones like General Tao’s and Honey Walnut Prawns. Don’t get the Chow Mein, unless you want something bland. On this last visit, I ordered food to go as the hubby was not feeling well. I ordered the Sautéed Prawns with Greens, General Tao Chicken and Green Beans with Garlic. Since my order amounted to more than $ 30, I got to choose a starchy item for free. You can choose from fried rice or chow mein. I chose the Chicken Chow Mein. This chow mein has thinner noodles, slices of chicken and no veggies. It was bland. Most chow mein dishes tend to be on the saltier side, so not sure how this dish ended up being tasteless. The General Tao Chicken was represented as being spicy on their menu, but this dish was not spicy. It was on the sweeter side. It was fine. Not the best I’ve had. I wanted that truly crispy crust and that tangy flavor to balance out the sweet, and this dish just did not fit that bill. Too bad really. I liked the Sautéed Shrimp with Greens. The shrimp was fine, but I really liked the Chinese broccoli. The sauce made this veggie so tasty. This dish was over $ 13 and of course, it was more vegetable than shrimp. I also liked the Green Beans with Garlic. It was tasty and quite a large portion. It took us a few days to finish this dish. One thing that I’ve had here in the past that I liked is the Salt and Pepper Pork. It can be a little too salty for me though, but it can delish with the right amount of salt. I’m still search of good Chinese food in San Leandro. I guess until something pops up that wows me, I’ll come here. It’s close to home and the stir-fried veggies are good.

A/C still busted… we were literally dripping sweat eating here. They had a couple of fans but it didn’t do much good. It was so hot we took our food to go. Speaking with one of their waitress, she mentioned that it never worked since she started working here about a month ago. Even though they have good food, I don’t suggest coming here until they get their A/C fixed…
