High Maintenance

I had my hair done yesterday by Ashley I wasn’t happy with the results with my hair. I had left the shop and my head was hurting very badly I took a lot of pain killers for this awful headache and nothing seemed to work. I had contact Ashley and she told me nothing she could do about my hair she said let it loosen up for a few days even though I was telling her how I felt and the pain of the tightens of my sew in weave that she put in for me. She told me to wait until this upcoming Tuesday to have someone else fix my hair. She wasn’t even going to be the one fixing my hair. My head hurt so badly I end up taking the weave out my closure was showing the brown part of my cap was showing. I wouldn’t go back to the shop anymore she has no compassion towards her clients after she receives her money she could careless on how her clients feel. Even when they told her the next day that their in pain. I wouldn’t recommend this hair shop to anyone she braids way to tight and also when I took my weave out I had a lot of hair bumps and also the braiding and the sewing was so tight I had a patch of my hair missing. I just got my hair done just yesterday less than 48 hours and already I took the weave out. I wouldn’t recommend this hair salon to anyone only if you like your hair pulled and if your addictive to pain killers.

I found this Salon on Craigslist, and I am glad I did. Ashley was very warm and professional. She was able to bring me into the Salon on a Sunday before I went out of town. Can not say enough… I will be back

Tamika is the owner of this salon and I love everything about it. She’s very personable and makes you feel welcome. The shop is very spacious and is always clean and tidy and such a nice environment. I love Tamika’s prices and her work! I’ve gotten partial sew-​ins, full sew-​ins and even have gotten a unit made by Tamika and they have all been AWESOME. The best part about it is she’s not trying to break anyone’s pockets and her quality of work is worth much more than she charges. She’s quick and anything you ask for she will make it happen. She cares about the health of your hair most of all, she won’t do anything to your hair that she knows will damage it even if you as her to. She will give you the 100% honest truth. I give her and her shop 5 stars because again my hair always looks great and it’s healthy and has grown so much. Tamika is the truth and if you want a Hollywood status weave that you can afford, High Maintenance is the place to go.

I had the worst experience I ever had the girl that did my sow in weave was ASHLEY I thought she carried herself very unprofessional I ask for a simple sow in nothing special my hair was lighter so I brought a darker die when I got there she looked upset because I had my old hair inn which I was willing to pay extra to take it out money wasn’t a problem to me I have a high paying job and can afford it so she presided to take out my old hair when we where done she brushed my real hair and split only the parts I was leaving out sense she said the hair die I brought wasn’t enough she dies my hair when she washed it out I had it all over my face and arm a very messy situation she left it there and dried my hair braided my hair and provided with the sow inn mind u I only bought 3 little bundles when she was done I still had 2 bundles of hair she DID NOT PUT in because she said there’s no room which I thought was crazy because I’ve put a little over 4 bundles in my hair before if the person knows what there doing it was late at night I had to go home I couldn’t stay I didn’t think she was that bad that I needed to stay and have her do it again my hair was so thin u can see my braids at the top I was so upset worst of all she left the die on my skin and it burned me so I had scabs on the side of my face it looked like a nightmare when I got home I tried to schedule something for the next day so she can have a chance to fix it but she didn’t wanna answer my text or calls very unprofessional she answer me the next day and said she was available 3 days later which didn’t work for me because I had to leave town so I just left it at that will I ever go back HELL NO I just write this review to worn ppl maybe try someone else she post on Craigslist as well so just watch out don’t let her mess up your hair like she did mines I was wondering why her prices where at $ 80 she must be a beginner what I think but she’s not getting any business from me or my friends for sure by far the worst hair experience I ever had !!! If I could do 0 stars I would !!!

I have been doing my own weaves for years (I’m good at it) but was tired of the time it took to do it. My daughter recommended I try Tamika and I haven’t done my hair since. I’m very picky and will leave a salon to only go home and change the entire hair-​do, plus I hated the 6+ hours it took waiting around in a salon. Tamika always, always, always gets me in and out quickly. My hair is always just the way I like it and the price is great! I also want to add… you will be very entertained while there because these women are the funniest ever! I always leave having laughed my heart out! I highly recommend this salon… #happycustomer

This place is the BEST! I have been coming to High Maintenance salon for about a year and a half now, and Tamika is the only person trust when it comes to weaves and my hair. Her salon is Fun, always clean and the energy and atmosphere is just Awesome! Her prices are Great and her specials are even Better! She also sells her own hair that is very high-​quality (I’ve had my HM hair installed 3 times). I’m moving up to Tacoma, Washington soon and I would even fly back to the bay at least once every month just get my weave done right by Tamika!

I got my hair done today and I love. Great environment. Great prices as well. It was a little hard to find, but i called them and they got me the fast. I will be going back.

I started going to this salon back in 2011 on a whim. I was wanting to try something new with my hair and was looking for a weavologist. I found out about this hair salon from Unilocal at that time but the salon was called That’s hot hair at the time. I called and spoke to Tamika about my hair wants and needs. She was VERY informative about the do’s and donts, on how to get my hair healthy as well as what prodicts works best to help me acheive, long, healthy hair. Long story short, I have been going to her for my weaves ever since. She is by far the best at her craft and is super fast. She gets me in and out – not to mention the shop conversations are ALWAYS on point, so it makes the time go by faster too. Sometimes, I dont even want to leave because we have great conversations with her other colleagues and customers. I definately reccommend Tamika — she is the best!

I originally came across HMS on Unilocal when it used to be «That’s Hot Hair». I have been coming here close to three years. Tamika is an amazing stylist. She is professional and very patient. Thanks to her, my hair has grown a lot and became very healthy. I have been to many hair salons in the past and I must say that this is by far the best one. Both Tamika and Kenya are quality hair stylists. If you haven’t been to High Maintenance Salon yet, then you must check it out as you will not be disappointed.

I have been going to Tamika for almost 2 years now. She is flexible, affordable, friendly, and her work is always excellent. I started coming to see her for wash/​flat iron and now I get weaves done every 6 – 8 weeks. I have always been satisfied with my hair and recommend her to my family and friends! I love their new location also! It is clean, spacious, and comfortable! :)

I stumbled across this Salon on accident almost 4 years ago and it was one of the best things that has ever happened to me! Kenya is truly amazing at what she does. I’m the type of person who will wear my weave well past the point I should (up to 5months) and even when I know I need to come in people still comment on my hair and ask where I get it done but most people don’t even know I have a weave. I’ve paid up to 8times as much as these ladies charge at another salon only to have tracks loose and falling out with in a few weeks. I promise you you will not find better quality stylists. The service is fast I’m always in and out and everyone in the salon is very friendly which makes for an enjoyable experience.

Tameka here does great weaves. Months ago I accidentally walked into this shop and it has been the best accident ever. You’ll definitely get your money’s worth here!
