This was my first experience with a collision auto body shop. I was referred by AAA for repairs and for this being my first time. I thought it was going to be rough but it wasn’t. My car was rear ended and needs bumper replacement. I went to have an estimate. The gentleman was knowledgeable and professional. He told me that I could leave the car there at that time. I scheduled to come in a few days later. Dropped the car and understood it would need 2 – 3 days for repair. It was ready the next day! It was near the close time when I went to pick up the car. I worried it was kind of late. Jennifer was sweet and friendly to greet me. WOW! The car looks brand new again! Very happy with the excellent service. highly recommend.

We have used L.A. Smith & Sons on prior occasions and highly recommend them. Our latest contact was a result of being rear ended on Highway 24. Jennifer was our first contact, she is very professional/​friendly and customer oriented. Johnny was our next contact for the estimate, he was very knowledgeable and thoroughly explained the process. Although we did not get to meet him, we discovered the work done on our 2003 Ford truck was mainly done by «Rich.»
Johnny called us midway through the repair to update us on the status, he told us to call during business hours if we had any questions.
The truck was completed prior to their estimated completion date. The truck was brought to the front of the business for us to inspect and it looked in brand new condition. Johnny took time to walk us through the details of the repair and provided information for the future treatment of the repaired areas of the truck.
We all know the process of getting a vehicle repaired after an accident is a stressful time. This business takes a lot of the stress away and is completely trustworthy/​reliable. I highly recommend them to anyone.

I just picked up my 2011 Hyundai Sonata from L. A Smith And Sons I was referred by Farmers Insurance Company. I was very happy with the work, It was a pleasant experienced. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. I would feel comfortable to recommend them to all.

Backed my car into a fire hydrant and got a nasty dent. Pleasanton Lexus recommended L A Smith. Jennifer and Johnny were very courteous and took care of the problem. Very happy with the quality of work. Car looks as good as new.

Trustworthy, professional, excellent repairs and great service. I don’t have any worries when I come here, and that’s why this has been the only body shop I’ve used for the last 10+ years.
Jennifer does a fantastic job communicating with the insurance and rental car companies, which is great because that’s the last things a person wants to do after being involved in an accident.
I’ve worked with Johnny that last couple of times I’ve brought my vehicles in, and he is awesome! His knowledge is impressive, and the work has always been done exactly when he says it will be or sooner.

I have been here before and received great service. They’re very thorough, punctual, have overall great communication and customer service. I had a hit and run back on Halloween day of this year. They told me I could bring my car in the next day get a rental the same day and they would have my car fixed in 4 days. They even called for a shuttle to pick me up from the shop and bring me to my job. They gave me a update on my car everyday they had my car and answered all the questions I had. when I came to pick up my car and return the rental, my car was cleaned inside and out, and they fixed my AC that was broken! Great service and worth EVERY penny!

If you actually care about getting your car done the right way, this is the shop for you. The negative reviews seem skewed and like there were other factors at play in those situations. This shop is outstanding, and though I hope I’m not in any accidents, I’m glad that I finally found the shop I will be taking my cars to for years to come. Johnny knows his stuff. He is in the industry because he loves cars, not just to make a quick buck.

I’m so glad I found this place for the repair of my car! I was involved in a front end accident, my insurance company recommended me la smith and sons body shop for my car repair. I took my car in and it was a no hassle exchange. The manager Johnny took the key and gave me a shuttle home. He did the estimate and called me on the phone later in the day, he explain to me in detail the repair process and what will be done to my car, he called me every other day to give me an update he also very patiently answered all my question and concerns. Since I did not have a rental car, the repair was complete ahead of schedule. Johnny is easy going and very professional. The quality of the repair done to my car exceeded my expectation. They also did a fantastic job on detailing my car, when i got my car back it is very clean and the repaired panels looks like it was never been in an accident, also the front desk lady Jennifer is very nice and helpful, the whole repair process went through really smooth, Thank you la smith and sons body shop for the superb repair and service!

My boyfriend’s car was damaged when he side-​swiped a parked car, while avoiding a semi.
Jennifer, the receptionist is extremely nice and helpful. Alan, who helped me with the estimate was friendly and professional. The work was done very quickly and the results are awesome. I had a few issues after I picked the car up, but the staff really helped out. I would recommend to everyone!
By the way, they fixed a mirror of an old car of mine about 20 years ago and I remember that as a positive experience as well!

I’ve been using LA Smith for the repairs on 4 of my cars now. They always do a good job and the process has been smooth no matter the situation. I had a whole car repainted here and the paint job was better than what i got from the dealership.

The receptionist is REALLY friendly and helpful, shot out to here, I’ve been here three times for estimates before. I got rear ended twice, and I accidentally returned the favor the other day.
Just got back from another estimate with Joe Drago, he is also helpful and friendly. Checked out the car and sent the estimate to my email by the time I got home.
My father recommended them, and he’s pretty knowledgable about repairing cars/​working on cars, so that says something about this company.

My car was damaged with overspray by the owner of my apartment complex’s arrogant inability to effectively communicate with good tenants. This shop accepted my business, and then, outsourced it to a detail shop in Downtown Oakland – Best Detail, which they physically drove it to – they did not transport it on a flat bed – placing 40 additional miles on my car. After approximately a week, it was I who contact them to check up on my car. I was told via the receptionist – Jennifer that Johnny did not like the job Best Detail did on my car, so he was returning it for a do over. She only told me this after I called for Johnny 3 times that day. He never returned any of my calls ever. It was over a week before I was able to pick up my car, which it took them almost 20 minutes to retrieve it from the back of the shop, allegely. As soon as I had gotten in my car, I immediatedly checked the dashboard for the vitals. To my chagrin and surprise, my check engine light was on. I only take my car the dealership for servicing, which I had recently had, so there was no legitimate reason for my check light to be on at all. I immediately asked Johnny why. He merely shrugged his shoulders, and mumbled something about it probably being on when I initially dropped it off, which it wasn’t because he did a 30 minute survey of the car the day before I dropped it off to be fixed. Upon turning my keys over to him, the check engine light was not on nor did he mention as much after he turned the car on to check the mileage. After Johnny mumbled his comments over his shoulders to me, he briskedly walked off to assist a Caucasian customer. He never did return to my car to address the check engine light, even after I had sat there for an additional 10 minutes in total shock. Needless to say, I missed a very important doctor’s appointment that motning, because instead of going to the doctor, I had to take my car to the Coliseum Lexus dealership to be fixed. My car has been in there for 7 days. I have yet to have it returned to me. Coliseum Lexus was very gracious about the whole thing. I still have no idea what LA Smith & Sons and/​or Best Detail did to my car to damage the engine to the point it has to be at the dealership for over a week.

I had to have a new running board put onto my 2002 4-​Runner. Because I had my vehicle custom built in 2001, we were having a hard time finding a replacement running board. I decided to go to Oakland Toyota and talk to the parts dept. directly. When I was informed that the numbers for the replacement were incorrect in the parts book and the gentleman tried a different way with the numbers, there it was; my running board.
With delight, I went the same morning back over to LA Smith and talked to Joe and told him I found it. With me there, he immediately put a call into Oakland Toyota and the part was ordered.
When I dropped off my vehicle, I asked about a scratch on my tailgate and if they could touch that up as well. I was very pleased to see my Runner when I picked it up. I have had my Runner for 10 years and with the new running board and the new shine on my vehicle, I am a very happy girl.
Thanks to the great service LA Smith has provided, I can with confidence say that I would refer friends to them without hesitation.
