This place was very unprofessional. They don’t know what they are doing. Wouldn’t even give them 1 star. They were very rude and turned off the lights while people were still giving their condolences to my family and were kicking us out. I DONOT recommend this location at all

Wow! They provided excellent support when my mother-in-law passed away. Leslie and all of the staff gave us comfort and made the whole process easier. Unfortunately, my mother-in-law did not have any pre-need arrangements. When she passed suddenly, I called several funeral homes in the area to see where we wanted to do business. San Leandro Funeral Home won out with their friendliness, compassion, ease of doing business as well as a decent price. I would easily use them again when we have need.

Never had any experience with funeral homes in the past, but I know I could have experienced better service… much better than what I received. Please know that after my 2 experiences with SL Funeral Home, the Funeral Director who was in charge of both my Grandmother and Father no longer works here and was fired for providing sub-par service. He is primarily why my review rating is so low. So I can only go off of the experience I had, not what SLFH now represents(or at least what I hope they don’t represent). In April my grandmother passed away at the age of 100. My father went through SLFH to take care of the cremation and to provide an urn for her remains. When we got the urn back, it had the wrong birth-date etched into the urn. Luckily we had no issue of the Funeral Director taking the urn back and having the mistake corrected. Not only was the date wrong on the urn, but their online obituary page also had the wrong birth-date listed. Shortly after my grandmother’s death, my father learned he had pancreatic cancer and passed away just over 3 months after my grandmother. I decided to stay with SLFH simply because my father was in talks with the Funeral Director in efforts to get a plan set up for his death(something that he never had a chance to finalize). I came in, signed the paperwork, paid for the services and eventually went back home to Long Beach. I was told that I could have a family friend pick up my father’s remains since I would be not be in the area at the time he would be ready to be picked up. After a few weeks of not hearing anything I called the Funeral Director and left a message asking what was going on with my father’s remains. NOCALLBACK. I eventually get in touch with him and he acted like his absence in communication was no big deal. Eventually our family friend got the call about Dad’s remains being ready. He goes to pick him up and notices on the death certificates that Dad’s birth-date is wrong! It took another 2 weeks to get the certificates amended. It was at this time they let the Funeral Director go due to this becoming all too commonplace. And as expected, the date was wrong on the website. I also sent the Funeral Director a picture of my Dad to be put up on the website, which never happened. I hope that someone can follow my review up with a positive review, showing that it was only the crappy service of that one person who was doing SLFH a disservice to the community. Unfortunately I can’t give a positive review.
