Incredibly friendly service by the lady behind the counter who I’m assuming was the owner. Lots of takeout customers during the lunch time but it only took seven minutes to get my order and everything was cooked perfectly and even with a couple of extra sides the price was extremely reasonable will be coming back here again soon. I give the food itself four stars but the extra helping of friendliness makes it a five-star experience.

Very disappointed. My first mind said keep going but my husband wanted to try it. 15pieces of fish, no seasoning at all. Sandwiches bread burnt, fries, no salt no seasoning. Keep going not worth the disappointment!

Best hush puppies and fried chicken in the area. Going to try the fried fish, BBQ Ribs and locally made peach cobbler next, if not sold out.

Nice family owned business. Great fish and fries. I really enjoy coming here and watching them work as a family. It’s best to get here early because run out of stuff and to call your order in.

I won’t be back again. We ordered snapper and prawns. They came with fries, potato salad or Cole slaw. The fish & prawns had no seasoning. And the outer corn meal coating was just like they dipped them dry, in corn meal, without any binding ingredient(like eggs), so the corn meal didn’t adhere to the fish or prawns at all. And maybe the oil wasn’t hot enough, because the food was not crispy at all. We didn’t like the Cole slaw & potato salad either. We ordered the sock it to me cake, and she admitted that it wasn’t made by them. It was the only thing we liked. They must have changed hands, because the food used to be really good. I should have gotten a clue, because there was nobody in the place, at dinner time.

We ordered the chicken and fish dinners, with a side of potato salad and shared. I liked the chicken although it was a bit too salty for my taste. I ate only a little of the fish, and I’m hoping what I ate was the snapper. If so, it was pretty good; very mild tasting. They offered tilapia, red snapper, catfish and sole but were out of the sole. I have a «thing» about catfish; the whiskers creep me out. I know they don’t serve catfish with whiskers, but it still creeps me out. I’m leery of tilapia. It used to go by another name. I’ve seen pictures of tilapia farms in China and the living conditions of the fish looked pretty gross. Yes, I understand the picture could be bogus but I’m not eatin’ it until I know for sure. The sign outside said seafood and BBQ, but they don’t do BBQ anymore. I wish I liked it better. The lady at the counter reminded me of my Aunt Dorothy… well, her voice did, anyway. ;)

Great little hole in the wall sea food place, I’ve been here a few times. The garlic crab is great, good service. Recommend you try it.

I ended up here on a Tuesday because all of my first choices– Nellies and Souls– were closed for the day. I ordered the snapper and fries. I was surprised with how large the order was. They give you a lot of food. It was ok. Nothing amazing. I figure I’ll come back and try the crab. The owner helped me. She was very friendly.

Their garlic crab, yummo! It was so tasty and seasoned well. I also had their catfish before it was cooked perfectly. The only thing bad I would have to say is that their sides are ok(potato salad, mac salad, mac and cheese). It taste like something you can get at a grocery store deli.

Every time we would drive down Bancroft I would always see this place and say to myself we have to try this place soon. We stopped by on a Saturday afternoon and I ordered the fish and chips and my husband had a fried sea food platter. When I took a bite outta my fish I immediately loved the batter it was deep fried with, I believe it was like a cornmeal type breading very delish. My husband also loved his meat but one thing we dont recommend ordering are the fried oysters we love oysters but these things were humongo and didnt really had a good texture to it. Overall this place is delish and will definitely be coming back in the near future!

Tuttle’s Seafood features cornmeal fried shrimp, oysters, catfish, and snapper, as well as fried chicken. No more BBQ. The cornmeal coating on the seafood is pretty tasty. The batter on the fried chicken is very crispy but a bit salty for my taste. Cole slaw was OK, the fried hush puppies were a disappointment — I wasn’t into the herbs in the cornmeal for the hush puppies. Easy street parking. Small restaurant, but well maintained and clean. A good place for fried seafood and fried chicken. Gotta try their special garlic crab sometime.

This place use to be a nice spot to stop and grab a quick bite to eat. However I recently returned and was shocked that the food in general has no seasoning, the greens and mac and cheese are not«home made» especially since they cook to order and everything is made in less than 15 minutes from time of order. I ordered the catfish, with fries green and mac and cheese, as well as the fried oysters, the fish tasted fishy, the oysters had a faint taste of mud, and everything else needed extra seasonings added. I will not return here again.

stopped in here to grab a bite since i was on an errand near this part of the ‘dro. settled on 3 piece sole(7.75) got the potatoe salad when the cashier informed me their salad was homemade. having checked the other reviews, it may have been an home away from home. server was friendly, fwiw. . the corn meal crust was thicker than the sole. the sole was very thin and dry. no taste so i assume it wasn’t that fresh or probably been frozen. the salad tasted overly sweet in some bites and sour in others. little potatoe was evident. i couldn’t finish it. when i was eating i hear the microsoft jingo. sure enough, when i left, i saw the server surfing the net. no doubt this was the worst fish i’ve experienced. the entire meal was a complete waste of money. AVOID!

Decent fried seafood and soul food joint. The batter for their fried seafood is a little too ‘cornmeal-y’ for my taste, but otherwise, it’s decent.
