Always a favorite. Great afternoon stop for a beer in a college town. Not overly crowded and the bartender is quick with suggestions and service. The patio is welcoming to sit and enjoy a mug in some shade. I haven’t been down for the law night in years, but I’m sure given the daytime atmosphere that the night life is equally as enjoyable!

Best bar in SLO! Live music, great crowd and alexis in the patio bar is the best. One thing though, they need to take card at the bar,(currently only accept cash). :(love this place though!

I’ve never been to a more pubbier pub in my life. This place has live music and really cool vibes. If you wanna just hang with your friends and have a chill night, this is your place in SLO. Nothing but good vibes and a variety of people. I’ve only ordered whatever beer was on tap so I can’t really talk much about the drinks themselves but the atmosphere mostly. We couldn’t really find seats here because it was so busy, but it was a nice change from a hot and sweaty club!

Some good beer on tap, sometimes they have a good band playing. Service is not great, they screw up your order half the time. Booze tastes WAY watered down and servers can’t make a decent cocktail, plus they don’t even know how to make the most basic/well-known cocktails, I always have to teach them. It’s a cool spot for large groups, only real appeal to this place.

Definitely a college bar. Cheap strong drinks haha but the music is super loud when they have a band and not the cleanest place… could use a remodel.

Did not care for this place. Asked what local beers they had and the guy said he didn’t know, and as I looked said«are you going to order anything?» Seriously? Then when I did he didn’t ID me but hassled my wife for hers when she didn’t even order anything! She had to walk several blocks to bring back her ID and show him. As soon as she got back another incredibly rude customer started hassling us because we were near some stuff he had left on chairs for at least 20 minutes. Could have easily gotten into a fight with this man as he was being very rude towards my wife, and security was less than 3 feet away and did nothing about it.

I went here to grab a beer with my large group of 14 people. They were just announcing the cover charge was $ 2 because a band was performing and my friend told the bouncer that we have a large group with a birthday girl(me), so they just charged $ 1 instead! That was really nice of them, and they were probably the happiest bouncers that I’ve encountered too.

Drinks were generous, staff was really friendly. Nice mix of clientele and the band was spot on. Came on a local recommendation and had a fun night.

Good spot to get drinks. Its a no frills kind of place, good bartenders though. If your looking for a place to get good beer poured by decent people this is your place. Only down side is no food. But a bar isn’t for food, so I guess it’s exactly what I asked for.

I really liked this pub! Live music! $ 2 cover! Affordable drinks! Super friendly and lively people! I wish I went to college in SLO, such a cool vibe in this downtown area. There were very crowded places nearby, with huge lines. Don’t waste your time in those lines and come visit Frog & Peach!

Oh geez. What can I say about an institution like this? It’s loud, noisy, tough to talk, tough to hear, it’s too small of a venue for the live music acts they have, it’s hot, stuffy, has sticky floors, is dark and the bathrooms are gross… 4 stars. Why?! Well, the beer selection is actually pretty good, pints are ~$ 5, and it’s open super late, and always has loads of interesting people in it. You don’t come to a spot like this to be wined and dined, it for loud late nights and cheap beer. This has all of that, and if that’s what you’re looking for on an evening out, this will provide that college bar experience in spades! Oh and the outdoor patio is key when the inside is packed, hot, and stuffy.

Fun bar to go to. One of my regular spots I used to go to when I lived in SLO. It’s an Irish pub. Good selection of beer. The bartenders are pretty chill too. Plenty of seating as well as tables to stand at. I remember they used to do Guinness races which were pretty fun to do as well. They also have live bands playing on certain nights as well.

We visited the bar to hear my son play last night. The place is what I would expect for a college bar. The service was a bit confused and they missed up my wife’s drink order and it was beer. Oh well.

Cool vibe, Friday reggae nights are a favorite. Get there early and grab a booth, because it gets packed. Decent pours. Appreciate the chilled water cooler on the bar for DD’s and pregnant folk. Bathrooms could be cleaner, but hey, it is a pub.

Truly horrible service here. The location is right in the heart of downtown, and my friend and I wandered in at around 10 on a Saturday night while we we’re visiting SLO. After almost 10 minutes of being ignored by the staff a bartender asks us «has someone helped you yet?» We responded«no» and he walked away. Seriously. Very disappointed by the service here and wouldn’t recommend.

So hears my opinion of this bar… I’ve been here a few times at different times throughout the day. I’ve been here early in the afternoon when it was quiet and dead… and I’ve been here late at night when it was packed. So far I have never had a bad experience. all my drinks have been made very well and I didn’t have to wait long for a refill. I don’t know if it’s because I’m older and I know how to treat people in the industry better than a young drunk 21-year-old…or if the staff here just really do a good job. Or maybe its both. There’s a small patio in the back that you could sit back and enjoy, it does get pretty crowded because everybody goes out there to smoke. Like most college town bars… in the evening the bathrooms get really trashed. I wouldn’t recommend taking a shit here. I’ve seen all walks of life come through, from the young 21-year-old to the older man that just wants to hang. They have live bands that play a variety of different music, and the Vibe is pretty chill. Well I’ll be back? Definitely

Grab a beer and chill with your friends on a Thursday night(bc who has Friday class, yeah?). Thursday’s are always the best nights to go out but if you’re heading for Pint Night, make a stop at Frog & Peach! Such a chill spot to just hang out with friends, and I love how they have live music on some days. It can get a little crowded in here and the crowd is split between locals who live in the SLO area and college students. You’re bound to run into a friend forsure. The staff are real nice but you pretty much have to be somewhat friendly when you’re a bartender. There’s a cute patio in the back of the pub in case you want to have a smoke, just FYI! I’m not rating this a perfect 5 bc I always have decent nights when I make a stop here but nothing that makes me go «wow, that was such a cool spot with a trill crowd». It’s just ehh.

Nice little pub in downtown SLO. Not in the same class as Spike’s but a nice selection of beer on tap and the Guinness is always fresh because they sell a lot of it. Service is okay but not great – not rude but not a great deal of hustle and also not particularly friendly. A big plus is the outdoor patio, which makes this one of the very few places in SLO where one can get a drink and smoke a cigar.(Another is McCarthy’s – and that might be the only other place this is allowed.) However, the back patio is usually a mess. Even at opening time, there was still a lot of trash and garbage on the back patio which apparently had only been half-heartedly cleaned up from the night before. Still, they have tables with umbrellas to provide shade which makes it a much better choice to have a stick lately since McCarthy’s took down the covering from their smoking patio.
