Listen people… when you have food allergies, life is difficult. Eating out makes you feel horrible… both ill, and bad for the waitstaff and kitchen. There are so many things that can go wrong when you can’t have: gluten, dairy OR soy… So, when I called to order pizza for the family, and a gluten free, cheese less for myself… I was happy! THEN! I get a call from the owner? Manager? Head pizza chef? They have cheese in their red sauce, would it be okay if he MADE me a tomato/olive oil/garlic/oregano topping to go with my other toppings? «It wouldn’t be the same… but you would be safe.» Bless this man and his amazing self! I don’t know of any other pizza joint, hell… any other restaurant… that would call back to ask me that! Yes, the pizza may be a little more expensive than I’m used to, but the ingredients are great, and they CARE about their customers… and I am not sick after eating out. All of these are so worth the extra $ 5 or so. Eat here. Support local business. It’s soooo worth it!

Almost $ 30 for a 2 topping pizza delivered in SLO, 1h 15m wait, very very skimpy on the toppings. Never again.

I absolutely love Palo Mesa pizza more than any other pizza in the area. The toppings are hearty and fresh. The crust is amazing and when done«Palo style» is mind blowing. The SLO location in SLO is kind of unfortunate because that area gets downwind of the sewage treatment plant and can smell gross. I would love to eat there, but I would rather take it to go and avoid the area smell.

Very mediocre pizza. Undercooked crust lacked flavor. Cheese was low quality, and very little sauce. Topping ingredients were bland. Seasoning non existent. Atmosphere at the SLO location is creepy. Employees lack attention to detail and were distracted by texting and conversations. Only one other party was in the place when I ordered but the pizza still took 30 minutes. There is better taste and service at any generic national pizza chain.

Hands down the best pizza in town… possibly even the entire central coast! My wife and I love the friendly staff, and always stop here when we are craving some pizza. They also have the best calzones, so big and stuffed, definitely worth every penny.

I had their pizza several times catered at work, but this was my first time trying it on my own. It was just as good. They have quite the pedigree in terms of awards. I think the pizza is well topped, tons of options, the crust is good and everything tastes fantastic. Nice smaller indoor eating area, though I took it to-go. I would rather dine out then in as there is not real ambiance here. Nor a salad bar. I’ve had about 5 different speciality pizzas and they are all fantastic. The counter service was fine, but nothing to write home about. Again, the pizza, the reason for going here, is really good.

Ordered a pizza and was told it’d be ready in 30 minutes, but when we went to get it SURPRISE they hadn’t started it yet. BOO! We chose to leave without lunch, instead of waiting an additional 45 minutes. Double BOO!

I’d say this is the best pizza on the Central Coast. I don’t know about the negative reviews people are giving but they just simply don’t know good pizza. Definitely better than Woodstocks. Customer service is excellent and always have my order ready in a timely matter. I love this place!

Been waiting 20 minutes for a meatball sandwich… I’m hungry… having to tolerate some kind of awful heavy metal music blasting from the kitchen. So far not so good…

Favorite pizza maybe ever? The crust is perfect and the toppings are soooooo good(try the sliced meatballs!) last time we ate in the store the wait WAS really long, but if you are ordering delivery it’s perfect! I think it’s worth the wait.

Really good pizza. Service and time sucks. 45 minutes for a small personal size pizza. Not very stoked.

The Unilocal 2 star description says it all, «Meh. I’ve experienced better.» Ordered Palo Mesa tonight, the total was $ 20 something, tried to pay with a couple of twenties(less than $ 10 would have come back to us with the difference and tip) and the kid tells us they carry no change? Good thing I randomly had enough to pay the exact amount for the pizza… bad thing for the kid was he didn’t get a tip because those random small bills paid the bill. I get not carrying a LOT of cash, but c’mon? Might want to mention that«no change thing» on the phone when people tell you they will pay cash. The pizza is underwhelming. We’ve ordered it a couple of times, it’s always been lukewarm when we get it. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. No more Palo Mesa Pizza for me.

We were in a rush to make a showing at the Sunset Drive In and this place was close ans quixk enough for a stop. The pizza paired perfectly with our contraband wine! Definitely recommend the Meatsa. Bonus points for a super friendly staff!

I went on my lunch break and had the personal pizza with pepperoni and sausage. The bread was baked fresh and was soft with a light crunch to it. It was the best quality pizza I had in town. I’ve had their pizza catered to my work and it was good as well. With many competitions, I could wonder why they continue to perfect their pizza. Interior design and environment was simple. It isn’t fancy restaurant. But they do hand the food to you and clean up your table when you leave. The walls have thank you posters and past competition, but not overwhelming like a tgi fridays. They have two flat screen tvs. Place is great for a quick bite to eat. I would recommend this to anyone who wants good quality pizza. It’s a little pricy, but it’s worth the cost.

Nice store, a little out of the way for dinner. The staff was friendly, and the place was clean. Been meaning to stop in for quite a while, even more after meeting the owners at a school fundraising event, super nice family! The take out order: wrong pizza was made for us, staff owned it, baked a new one and sent us on our way 20 minutes later with more pizza than we initially ordered for the same price. Ultimately the problem was handled well, just kind of wish it had not happened in the first place. The pizzas: I ordered the Thai chicken and the BBQ chicken. The BBQ chicken was the best I had ever had, amazing BBQ sauce, just the right amount of everything with complimentary flavors on a perfect chewy hand tossed crust. The Thai was not for me, but it was really about the same crust I loved so much on the BBQ, but didn’t seem to do it for me on the Thai, my taste would have preferred a thin and crispy crust. NOTE: My wife totally disagrees with me on this and thought the Thai chicken pizza was perfect. I have not tried any traditional pizzas yet, really wanting to order one of the competition winning one. Give them a try, I think you enjoy. Particularly if happen to work somewhere near the restaurant . Has potential for 5 stars… But maybe more likely in 5 Cities closer to ownership!

Palo Mesa’s «Mesa Meatsa» and«Ken’s Favorite» are by far the best pizzas I’ve ever had, this place is for serious eaters! The crust is amazing, the sauce is flavorful, and their cheese pairs perfectly with the fresh toppings they finish their pies with. I expected no less from a restaurant that has won multiple awards, including: best in the southwest and central coast, and 5th best traditional pizza in the WORLD… So if you’re in SLO, AG, or The Mesa, do yourself a favor and drop by Palo Mesa.

I’m pleasantly surprised with this place. After I ordered I read some previous reviews about slow orders, and it worried me. Whatever problems Palo Mesa had before seems to have been ameliorated. I placed my order with a nice man who was respectful of me even though I was a little slow to order. I got the $ 6 two-topping small pizza lunch special(salami and jalapeño) and was told my order would be out in 20 minutes. I got the pizza in about 15, and was happy for that. The pizza itself was pretty good, although I’d have liked it to be cooked longer. If they had broiled the top of the pizza to brown the cheese and crisp the toppings slightly, I’d have given 4 stars. Overall, not a bad place for pizza! I received attentive service in a timely manner and ate a pretty good pizza.

Eek! Bought 2 pizzas just now. Told 20 mins, picked up in 25(cause last time wasn’t ready right at 20 mins). They were ready when I arrived. Got the hot Hawaiian and the veggie. I live 5 mins away. Got home and both were super soggy! Like water was spilled in the middle of both! They are soaked! So bummed!!! Cannot be picked up to eat. And I really liked this place! :(ruined
