Papyrus… has little, if any Papyrus ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ So your are unlikely to find any ancient written works there, but hunters of nice cards, wrappings, gift bags/paper, & other gift stationary stuff can be pleased here. It is fantastic for those who are shopping(especially last minute !!! HOLIDAYINDUCED !!! Bipolar, MANICPHASE, SLO downtown !!! type), !!! and need to find these items to go with other finds downtown. They do not have cheapo 99 cent cards(like 99 cents. nor the low priced cards at TJ’s) nor have the extensive selection of Hallmark Cards on Madonna, but they do pack a ton of more upscale products that will/may/possibly tickle your fancy… & maybe other parts… stop giggling… all of you with unclean thoughts :). Even though they were sold out of Xmas cards, specifically for spouses, they were kind enough to take the time to help me, despite the huge rush during X-mas eve to find a more romantic card for my honey. My Honey absolutely loved this unique tasteful gorgeous card that looked like a FINEWOODCUT… «««««««««««««««««««« not to be confused with a paper cut, nor a Papyrus cut. As I alluded to, the staff here are friendly, smiling, and really contribute to SLO’s rep. as Happy Town, USA! Whenever I shop downtown for the required stuff to go with great gifts like stuff from Hearts Desire, the Olive Store, as well as, some other quint shops, I always stop here. They always hit the spot & save me the gas to run around the 5 Cities area for this stuff. They do have a «mom & pop» feel & I feel so welcomed & comfortable there. Thanks for MAKINGMYHONEY so very happy with both ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ the glorious unique card & the gift bag. My honey loved the Xmas gift bag & even said that she like it so much that she did not care if there was no present in it. She was thrilled with the card & keep asking me where I bought, but it will be my little secret, for future holidays. For just about $ 6 for the Xmas card & $ 8 for the gift bag very late on Xmas eve, they were yet another hero in ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ my usual last minute shopping for my wife. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Since we live in a Condo in Shell Beach, it is hard to hide stuff for surprise holiday gifts, so I greatly appreciate that are open so late on an Xmas eve. Fortunately, there were enough shops open till 5 – 6PM to find romantic goodies to fill Papyrus’s gorgeous bag! Mahalo Papyrus!!!

I went into Papyrus yesterday afternoon to order personalized stationery. A couple of years prior I had tried to do the same thing, but was turned away with them telling me they couldn’t do it right then, that I should come back. I didn’t, and ordered from Crane online. I would rather give local merchants the business, so this time I chose the style, font, font color, paper, and envelope liner online so that all that needed to be done in the store was write the order down. I was turned away again, and told I needed to make an appointment. I asked for an appointment and was told that he next day or the next week might work(neither of which worked for me), and that it had to be between 2 and 6pm. It was, at that time, about 3:30, so I asked if it weren’t possible to just write the order down that afternoon. The answer was no. So I went home and ordered 3 sets of stationery online, for a total just short of $ 1,000(gifts for 3 brides). I doubt that I will shop there again, or recommend others to do so. Papyrus cards are available at Target, among many other venues.

I am drawn to this Papyrus like moth’s to flame, especially before and after the holiday season. In this day and age people tend to send electronic greeting cards but there’s still something quite magical about sending and receiving a high-quality well-designed and composed card via post and Papyrus is definitely the place for finding exactly that. The service here is always excellent and I am able to find exactly what am looking for. You get what you paid for and Papyrus is a good representation of that.

The staff here is wonderful! And, if you purchase the wrapping materials, they will craft the most gorgeous gift for you for practically nothing!

What an exceptional store! They have the NICEST cards I’ve ever seen and they have a lot of small gifts and books. They also have a nice selection of Mole Skin and they do custom printing! They’ve done invitations, business cards and custom stationary for us for years. Ask for the manager, Cathy, she is the ultimate in customer service!!!

Very nice Cards and paper products for gifts and greetings. This four star rating goes with four $$$$. Not a bargain basement kind of a place. But when I am looking for something quick and nice and I don’t mind spending the coin, I find myself stopping in momre than on just an occasion. Cheers

The average card probably costs $ 5.95, but that’s why people come to Papyrus — high end cards. Very nice cards in a great location downtown gets 5-stars. I have come here several times and the employees are respectful, but always ready to help me if I need anything. You can park in the meters downtown or in one of the parking garages. Garages are located on: 842 Palm, 919 Palm, and 871 Marsh 30 minute meters, 2 hour meters, and 10 hour meters in downtown and the surrounding area.
