This is my favorite store of all time. The prices are always more than fair, the clothes are phenomenal, and there really is something for everyone. The owner of the shop is extremely friendly and has a great eye for all things vintage(70s, 80s, and 90s especially… Great for a specific party or a funky-fresh day to day outfit) and keeps a plethora of different sizes on hand. Everything is one of a kind, and it’s great to support a local business and find these awesome gems that have withstood the past 20+ years, which in turn means they will probably last another 20 or more years. They even have stuff for guys too! And a whole rack of clothes for only $ 5, sometimes they even do deals on top of that. All in all, I recommend this shop to anyone who appreciates a great retro find at a great retro price in a friendly environment.

Drove into town to get something I saw online(I need to try stuff on) so I checked the hours online and called to check but when I got there I got a sign that said closed. If youre going to say youre open tomorrow, actually be open! I will never go out of my way to come here again.

Prices are great and selection is good, if somewhat spotty. Excellently situated next to UO so you can get a great deal at Retrofit and see the same shirt next door at 5x the cost!

San Luis needs stores like this. It reminded me of many a thrift store/clothing boutique /re-purposed apparel/consignment stores I have shopped at in Olympia and SLO, back in the day– if you remember places like Full Circle or went to the Old Mission Thrift Store. The owner was cool, sweet, and dressed funky, the stuff is unlike the rest of the stores in downtown SLO,(Thank God) and I know there will be a niche market at Retrofit to dress for parties, costume parties, high school girls, retro themed events, and weird kids who don’t want to go to the other stores in town. I got a couple of used tops that were from Zara and Target at one time. I spent about $ 20 and they will be fun going out tops, totally worth it. The dressing room I used was huge but the floor was really dusty, so it felt disgusting to step on the floor and then put my flip flops back on after trying on a dress. I was *this* close to getting a snug mock-neck nude colored dress with shoulder pads and a keyhole back; I’m telling you it looked hott – but my practical side kicked in. This is not a store for your practical side, it’s for your fun, retro, funky, and adventurous side, Mama’s! Shop!

I stop into Retrofit whenever I’m in SLO. I have purchased Vintage Nordstrom, Jerry Garcia, Marc Jacobs, Coach for a fraction of the retail prices. There are many great treasures to find at Retrofit, The greatest being the owner, who personally shows me what will«work» and more importantly if it doesn’t.

Sleek and sophisticated, urban hip attitude with touches of Bohemian chic. I gotta get a dose of this stuff whenever I am downtown. Got a great old Afghan styled leather strip belt, and a sleek princess neckline sleeveless black jersey dress with net top, concealing and revealing all at the same time!

This is such a fun spot with great energy & and an amazing owner ! There are well-selected 80s clothes, shoes & accessories, awesome 80s music & a very friendly vibe. Katie, the shop’s owner, is always willing to help customers select items, chat it up or discuss 80s films, music & art. Also, I attended a super-fun«gaudy» holiday sweater making party in December. We paid $ 5 and had a huge table set up with tons of holiday craft items, jewels, hot glue, cookies, hot cider & nice people. It was a great way to meet people, support the shop & have fun. Please consider a visit to this shop !

The owner of this shop is the cutest and nicest young lady. As a child of the 80’s who shares a great love for that decade I am excited to see someone who shares that same passion. EVERYONE should check this place out!

Oh my God, totally awesome! This 80’s vintage store is like, totally rad. For sure, for sure. On a more serious note, as a person who grew up in the eighties, this place is a major trip down memory lane. I spoke with the owner who was friendly and expressed her love for all things 80’s. She was wearing a fabulous Nagel t– shirt. The clothes are in great shape with really reasonable prices. Cute and fun, and made me appreciate the 80’s styles all over again. Hmmm… now where did I stash those neon legwarmers?
