I have only been here a couple of times, all I can say is I can understand why they call this the 55 Bro Line, its filled with Bros and didn’t feel safe. One of the patrons told me that my friend is gonna get his @$$ kicked. This is San Marcos equivalent of Mos Eisley Cantina.

Horrible service. Warm shots. I would not recommend this place. The manager was rude and it was still early in the night. Do yourself a favor and try somewhere else.

Wow! ! The Best Burgers, perfect tater tots and extra friendly service! There was a mistake in the order, and they corrected it with kindness and professionalism. Love the quality and quantity of food. Tater tots were Perfect! We look forward to coming back.

The 55 Yard Line is your average sports bar, nightlife spot. Located in Restaurant Row in San Marcos, its a pretty good place to hit up if you are looking for a drink or for a stop on a bar hop. The inside seems smaller than it actually is. You have a good size bar, plenty of tables as well as a dance floor. They also have a large patio and pool tables. I have never eaten here but I can vouch for the drinks. They have a decent craft beer selection as well as a full bar with all of your favorite mixed drinks available for very reasonable prices. The service is actually pretty good for a dive(ish) type bar. I like the fact that they don’t charge a cover like some of the other not as fun places(like across the street) do.

$ 49 for two, yes only two, pitchers of local Mission Hefe. I even asked to confirm that my tab was right and they told me that pitchers were $ 24.50. It probably would have been cheaper to buy it by the glass.

I used to drive past this place all the time and never gave it a shot. Until one day i decided to go somewhere local to watch a chargers game and have some beer. This place was packed and full of loud/funny chargers fans! The beer selection is not bad like 12 beers on tap, full bar and pretty damn decent food. Since then I’ve been back plenty of times on all different kind of days, brunch, weekdays, weekends etc and it doesn’t disappoint. The vibe is a dive ish with locals. Everyone is friendly the have lots of tvs playing different sports with an outdoor area with pool tables. Brunch isnt bad at all and they have unlimited mimosas for the ladies, at one point they just started bringing bottles of straight champagne hahaha nobody complained about that. Its not fancy in any way but decent food and beer prices with good service cant really complain.

We went here for the playoff game. This was a fantastic choice to watch the game! Televisions EVERYWHERE! Great food, even for vegetarians in our party. Over 20 beers on tap too! The wait staff was very attentive and the owner, Jim, was awesome too! He really took care of us, seating us in an area big enough for our party and making sure all our game needs were met! Definitely a great choice to watch a game!

Wow, we hadn’t been here in a couple years and I remember why. The service is ridiculously slow. You could seriously die of thirst in this place.

I woke up New Year’s Day craving a burger! I have tried every place in San Marcos. This place has by far the best burgers. South of The Border burger is a must. Well done 55 Yardline!!! Wife doesn’t eat bread, ordered her Turkey Club sandwich as a salad… she was in food heaven. Again, bravo 55! We’ll be back!

Wow. There’s some really discerning NC Unilocalers who are 1 star passionate about their Rumple Minze and Capt and Cokes ’round heya. I’ve experienced nothing but excellent service, food and drinks when at the 55. Lot’s of TV’s, 2 Golden Tee games and decent prices make me a fan! WHENYOUGO– Owner Jim is usually on the property and he’s not the type to let a legitimate beef go unfixed. You can’t miss him-big dude with a grey Fu Manchu and shaved head. Talk to him if there’s an issue. I’m sure he’ll work it out for you. While here, don’t skip the burgers. Very tasty and good sized, you won’t want dinner after having one of these babies for lunch. They’re also the only bar in NC where I’ve seen Lagunitas Pale Ale on tap. Nice spot for the game, HH or to grab a beer and a burger. Go there. Now!

This is a great bar but the Dj om Saturday night was horrible. He kept replaying the same songs and did not know his crowd. He had horrible transionnal songs. By far one of the worst Djs I’ve ever heard. Also his voice was beyond annoying, it’s like he was screaming into the mic and didn’t really know what 2 say. If this dj keels coming back will never come back nor should anyone else that’s how bad it is.

Incredible vibe, great beer, great bar food, and Jim is a saint. If you’re around, go here. Smoking patio, and tons of TVs for sports games!

Wonderful food, great atmosphere and Elena was super friendly! Split a burger plate, buffalo wings and tots for lunch with a Lagunitas IPA. The burger, although not being some gourmet delight, was very good… a nice soft and tasty bun made it all the better. The fries seems to have a light batter to them and both them and the tots had just the perfect amount of seasoning. The wings in my opinion were the highlight to my feast, and I’m stingy when it comes to wings. they were, in my opinion, cooked to perfection. Just the right amount of crispiness to the skin, a sort of double baked vibe, and yet very moist and tender on the inside. Definitely worth coming back just for those. Plus, it seems like they have some sort of special every day of the week. I really loved the atmosphere at this sports bar. the furnishings and lighting are just right when you wish to get away and relax over a pint and talk with friends. This was during lunch, so I can’t speak to what it is like during peak hours, but I would recommend this with no problem to those seeking out good food during the lunch time hours. Next time I’ll schedule more time to play some pool in their covered entrance area.

Went here for carry-out on Saturday. It was abut 12 pm so there were only a few people in there. ask the bartender about drink specials. None. I don’t know how a bar doesn’t have drink specials all day on Sat and Sundays. My wife and I ordered the pastrami sandwich with sweet potato fries. They did have a drink special of a 2.50 draft but you had to order specific lunch items. Ridiculous. The pastrami sand. was great but lacked meat. Paid $ 12 for a few tiny meat slices. Ridiculous. The bartender was eating her lunch or snack behind the bar. Please eat your food somewhere else. Looks tacky.

They can’t count the number of drinks you order and over charge you(happened twice) while including 20% tip to your bill. Granted there were six of us, but don’t screw us twice and force us to tip. They also told us we had to get up from our table because the DJ has to set up his equipment? Not just one person, but several people rudely asked us to get up, then the DJ stared us down like we made him late for spinning his music in Ibiza. Lol

It had been a couple of years since I had been in and I was in the area so my friend and I stopped in for a beer. Staff was friendly and service was good but my Rumple Minze tasted like some dirty off brand ugh. On top of that, the door to the enclosed patio was open all night, letting the cigarette smoke be sucked into the bar. I don’t have anything against smokers, but I don’t want to be inhaling their smoke while drinking my beer.

This place is alright. If you come here for a drink and sit at the bar it’s not that bad of a place. If you come here for service, it’s severely lacking in this department. Don’t think I’ve been to many places with this bad of service. They really should hire some more servers because they just don’t have enough, especially on game days. I don’t mind going to the bar, but when I’m sitting down for food and drink and there’s servers, I do expect some kind of service. I got their burger and it was decent. It wasn’t anything special and is moderately priced. The drinks are usually pretty decent here and they had $ 10 all you could drink mimosas in the morning, which is a pretty damn good deal. Personally, I think if they put a bit more into the food and service this place would be a lot better.
