I would give their bubble tea 5 stars but their yogurt 1 or 2 stars. There were almost no toppings for the yogurt. I think they had maybe 6 or 7 to choose from at the most and no fresh fruit toppings at all. The bubble tea was excellent.

Bubble tea is AWESOME! Reasonably priced, there basically is no parking. Some of the employees are nice. Others just look at you like a nuisance.

i loooooove Twist & Shout. their tart is really good, icy in the right places and slightly tannic in others. toppings bar is basic. the staff are pretty adorable with their music blasting when you walk by. T&S is also one of the cheaper fro yo joints, so both your wallet and stomach will be pleased.

I commute to San Marcos from Austin every day for school. Living in Austin and being part asian bubble tea has become a part of my everyday life. I thought I would just have to do without while I was in San Marcos that was until a friend introduced me to TWISTANDSHOUT!!! You know when you’re a little kid and you see your Christmas presents under the tree on Christmas Eve? That was exactly how I felt when I walked into this store. The owner is so personable she knows me by name and my drink of choice(Strawberry Green Tea with pearls) She hires local girls who live on campus. Awesome selection of drinks and she has frozen yogurt with all the fixins you could possible imagine. Have her stamp a card for you if you plan on returning its buy 10 get the 11th free! I go back for my fix every Thursdsay.

It’s hard to mess up frozen yogurt, and this place doesn’t. They have some pretty good flavors and toppings and good customer service for all the times I have been there. I have never tried any of their teas or «milk drinks» but I hear they are good.

San Marcos now has as many froyo shops as it does McDonalds, which is a pretty cool thing. This one has the new standard soft serve by the ounce froyo with toppings available, but also offers a wide selection of bubble teas and other drinks which is a huge plus in my book. They do offer non dairy sorbet by the ounce which I almost got but I love me some strawberry slushie which came out great, just as good as Coco’s in Austin. Only issue is parking because its on a one way street but it’s not like there isn’t anything else to do around there, I could see how easy it would be to get to from the campus.

They make their drinks from scratch the right way. Never seen this before in my life. their bubbles are the exact consistency all the way through just like they are supposed to be. I loved every sip. Great stop on vacation right in the square.

I have always lamented the fact that San Marcos doesn’t have a TCBY. Call me a slave to corporate yogurt if you will, but I have fond memories of walking to one that was near my house growing up. Not only did I lament the lack of a TCBY location, I lamented the lack of frozen yogurt altogether. However, today I tried Twist and Shout, and verily I shall lament no more. It combines two of my favorite things in the world into one neat little package: buffets and frozen yogurt. When the BF and I strolled in today I marveled at the wall o’ frozen yogurt machines. You see, at Twist and Shout you serve your own frozen yogurt and put the toppings on yourself, and then you are charged by the pound. The containers they provide are ridiculously huge, and I am not shy about saying that if I saw someone fill one up all the way I’d judge them. .. or perhaps give them a high-five. I don’t know. Now I’m conflicted. Anyhoo, they have a wide array of flavors from Italian tart to cookies and cream, and, yes, you can swirl the flavors that share the same machine. I ended up going for a strawberry-Italian tart swirl with granola on top and the BF went for a quad-flavor extravaganza by putting both a chocolate-vanilla swirl and a cookies n’ cream-peanut butter swirl into the same cup, no toppings. We were both very satisfied with our yogurt. I dare say that I might actually like this place better than TCBY. I agree with Cami F.; this place is going to give Rhea a run for her money. I hope they can find some way to occupy the same niche, because I think they’re both fantastic. ETA: True bubble tea aficionados look elsewhere. Twist and Shout makes their bubble teas using those vile powders, not real fruit. Blech! If they start serving bubble tea made with real fruit, I’ll gleefully add another star to this review.

Twist & Shout is a nice spot to take a date or a family. They have an array of yogurt flavors and a good selection of toppings. You get a bowl, mix the sundry ingredients together into whatever unholy dessert concoction your heart desires, then weigh up and pay up. My kids adore the place. It’s pretty reasonably priced, the staff are friendly, they have wifi, and the food areas and eating areas are well-kept and clean. We’ve had a few instances when they’ve been out of a particular yogurt flavor, but generally our experiences here have been quite good. While I’ll usually choose Rhae’s, with its homemade charm and more interesting flavors, if I want something cold and tasty, this is a strong addition to the San Marcos options for those who want to give their pancreas a challenge.

I was craving some tart frozen yogurt, and theirs was great. I had the tart vanilla with a bit of orange added and it was delicious with dark chocolate sprinkles. My 3 year old and 1 year old were happy with theirs as well.

Twist and Shout has a wide variety of flavors sure to satisfy a constantly-changing palate. Whether you feel like creamy, tart, or just plain fruity, this shop will not let you down. You can also add toppings such as cereal, chocolate syrup, and fresh fruit to your self-serve creation. Lily, the owner is super cool and will offer some good suggestions. This place also serves both hot and iced coffee(including a Vietnamese version with condensed milk), regular and bubble teas with tapioca balls, as well as smoothies. Twist and Shout has Wi-Fi, it is clean and spacious, and the prices are cheap(35 cents an ounce) in comparison to other frozen yogurt joints. Its close proximity to campus is yet another plus. I agree with Cami F. in that this will be a big competition with Rhea’s Ice cream, which has interesting flavors but its prices are a bit high for a college town.
