We had a small leak from under our Samsung fridge and called A Plus to inspect it. The gentleman who came was on-​time and very professional. He immediately knew what was wrong and was able to fix it on the spot. It took a little over an hour and seemed reasonably priced.
I would highly recommend calling A Plus.

A Plus gets an A+ from me! I am so happy I turned to Unilocal to find an appliance repair shop. Alex was awesome! He came on a Friday and quickly assessed our problem. We needed to clean out the drain on our Freezer. We made an appointment a day later (Saturday) as he needed to order a part. He called me an hour before our appointment and told me the part hadn’t come in yet and he gave me the next available appointment on Monday. He came and fixed the part and cleaned out our Freezer. He was professional and told me that we have a year warranty, which he said we would not need. He told me everything I needed to know about our Refrigerator and gave me some good info about my other appliances. Overall great experience!

My refregerator did not make ice so I made an appointment thru the website. Alex came to my home and immidiately did good diagnostics. The problem is that water supply tube was frozen. He cleaned it up and suggested me to replace water filter in it. It is all done within 20min. So far, the refregerator works very good. Thanks!

These guys are the best! They are always prompt and really know their stuff. I recommended them to our HOA because they are that good. He had our washer dryer combo working like new. I highly recommend them.

In a very quick and on-​time visit, Alex came and diagnosed that my washing machine would be better replaced than repaired. The charge was a hand shake and then he was on his way. I appreciate the timeliness and honesty. So, like many reviewers, Alex is my man.

A Plus gets 5 stars from me. Although there were a few repair shops in the area that also got good ratings, I called A Plus to repair my Samsung refrigerator. They came out twice: once to give an estimate and order parts; and the second time to complete the repair.
Alex came on Christmas Eve to complete the repair to the water dispenser on the fridge. As he took apart the fridge, he determined that a clogged water line in the system was the problem and not the valve he ordered. Long story short, he spent more time to disassemble the fridge, clear the line, and made sure the system was in working order. He didn’t use nor charge me for expensive valve.
He applied the original $ 65 service call and a $ 20 Unilocal coupon to the total bill, which was much less than the original estimate. The total cost was very reasonable for the time he spent to repair the fridge.
I would use A Plus again for my future appliance repair, and would highly recommend them to anyone that needs appliance service. Thank you Alex and A Plus.

I would definitely recommend A Plus and Alex. I called to have them take a look at my dryer. Alex came and gave an initial diagnosis of a busted knob (it was not immediately obvious). In any case, while that was quickly repaired, it also obscured another problem with the heating coil. When we discovered that the problem was not fixed by the knob, Alex came back and evaluated the heating coil issue very expeditiously. When we had another problem come up with our ice maker, Alex came out again and did not charge us for the service. Amazing! Where do you get that kind of customer care in this day and age? Comcast could take a lesson from these guys. Fab work. Keep it up.

Alex was great — honest and transparent. He came over, diagnosed the problem within a few minutes, and estimated the cost. He recommended we buy a new washing machine rather than pay him to fix our current one since it would cost roughly the same amount. We very much appreciated his honesty.

Let me start by saying if I could give a higher rating then 5 stars I would! My wife and I dishwasher was out of commision for weeks. We tried everything. I went on to Unilocal and found A Plus Appliance Service! These guys are Awsome! Alex just came out to our house and litterly within minutes our Dishwasher was working again. If you have issues with your appliances. Don’t wait, Call them.. Alex and A Plus Appliance service is the way to go!

I am new to area… so i went to Unilocal for help. And nailed it… i generally dont post reviews… But i felt compelled. Alex was knowledgeable, courteous, prompt and to the point… No BS. Fixed my very old stack-​able dryer in no time… and it did not hurt the pocket book at all.

My SubZero vaccum condenser kept blinking and Emil from A Plus arrived promptly to fix the problem after it had been evaluated by Alex the day before. Apparently there was another problem with the timing of the condenser and he returned to check it out and returned a third time today to change the wires. Emil is knowledgable, very courteous and I would highly recommend A Plus Appliance Repair.

Alex is The Man! He’s both knowledgeable and courteous, and he diagnosed what was wrong with my «dead» fridge in no time flat, sourced the parts, had them shipped and installed a week ahead of schedule and all below the originally quoted estimate. I mean, seriously; how many times in this life do you get what you want faster, at a higher quality and at a lower price point than what you had been expecting? This was one of those times. He also stands behind his work with a one-​year warranty and truly is intent on building his business through integrity, honesty and damn good customer service.
Five Stars, and more if that were an option. And thanks again, Alex… you rock!

Professional service. They managed to come and check up my frige on the same day as i called. And had it fixed it early next day and my frige is good as new now! And i noticed they use genuine GE parts. Very satisfied!

Had a gas dryer that spun, but did not get hot. Called in the morning, and technician came the same day, in the window specified. He immediately diagnosed the problem, showed me the cost to repair the unit, took the dryer apart, cleaned out all the lint, installed the needed parts, and got it up and running in about 30 minutes. A Plus is highly recommended, and I would use them again for any appliance repair.

Fantastic service. Alex came out to look at our Sub Zero wine fridge and quickly isolated the problem to a faulty thermistor. Since it is under warranty, I didn’t need him to order the part. He waived the visit fee since it was a quick visit. Very helpful and friendly.

My parents in Foster City called A Plus to repair their Bosch dishwasher. They were professional, on time, and in and out in 15 minutes. They charge a $ 65 trip charge to diagnose the problem, but then they apply it to the labor charges if you have them proceed with the repair. The whole repair cost only $ 73, so my parents were thrilled! They repair all types of appliances, and also cover San Francisco and Marin County (according to their web site). Would definitely use them again!

They came out to diagnose a Samsung dishwasher that has been giving an error code. After methodically taking it apart and trying different things along the way, he was clear to say «it’s going to need a new Drain Pump … but for this make /​model, you might be better of getting a new one.» I asked if they sold dishwashers, and he said no, we just repair them. AND he didn’t charge me for the diagnosis. I’ll definitely call them again if I have another issue!

Comment from a retired 30 year engineer:
My wife and I bought this home in 2003; it had been built in 1996. The kitchen included a Sub-​Zero refrigerator freezer.
Recently we had seen a thick buildup of frost in the rear lower left corner of the refrigerator section. A Google search of «Sub-​Zero refrigerator frost» revealed that this is nearly always due to a crack (develops over the years as a result of the cooling/​heating cycle of a self defrosting refrigerator) in the tubing leading into the evaporator coil, which is located behind the rear panel of the refrigerator section down at the bottom.
Because of the leak, the refrigerator temperature sensor, which is at the very bottom, is never happy and keeps the refrigerator running more or less constantly. This causes the frost to build up at the entry point of the evaporator coil.
If you did the search, you will also find out that replacing the evaporator coil and, most likely, the dryer, evacuating the system, and recharging the system has a standard cost (think of an auto body shop estimator book) of between $ 900 and $ 1000.
So, why do I explain all that before providing evaluation?
Simply stated, given that the repair steps and the price are pretty constant, your decision regarding who to have do the work should be based on the experience and skill of the technician who shows up, something which can vary widely.
I called around and got a sense of years in business, number of technicians, etc. and decided to go with the Emil at A Plus Appliance.
Emil has years of experience, has done these same repairs many times, and thus knows how to deal with surprises (there are always surprises). He also turned out to be very good at getting the job done while protecting the floor and countertops in our kitchen around the subzero.
He did a good job and so I decided to take a few minutes to post a positive recommendation.
