I lived here in the new town homes for about a year and while it was quite a beautiful area it did have some caveats. Pros: –location! Great connection to Cal Train, easy access to the SMEC, walking distance from food shopping and the Hillsdale Mall, plus it’s right next to a park. –Walls were thick, and I mean thick: I never once heard my roommates television or music unless it was at an obscene volume and I never heard the neighbors. –seemed to be built quite well –layout options and endless possibilities, all looked very modern Cons: –parking, specifically guest parking. It was horrible, there were originally around 20 guest parking spots then they decided to build more homes on the spots and there were about 10. These 10 spots near us and about 30 in the neighborhood were the only spots to park at where you would not get ticketed after being there for more than two hours. I know it is relatively close to caltrain but realistically parking this far away from caltrain is a bit much when you can park closer without penalty. Therefore, the cap on the parking is a bit pointless, it also limits the amount of time you can be at the park-espeically for a child’s soccer game etc. Overall: I loved the location, so close to the Hillsdale Caltrain and it’s a bullet stop. The proximity to the Whole paycheck shopping center is convenient too as they also have a gym and a drew restaurants. I would probably live here again if the parking situation gets sorted out(perhaps guest passes for tenants to give away).

This review is for Movies in the Meadow, as Unilocal was a sponsor of this family-friendly community event. Apparently, this was Bay Meadows’ first night to many more Saturday nights at the Movies, so it was a bit disorganized and confusing. As we checked in as Unilocal Elites, VIP seating meant we get a red wristband, Unilocal bag, and find lawn seating with the general public who RSVP’d. One employee pointed towards the water & sodas, and stated that’s where you get a free drink. Nobody really checked wristbands, so by dusk, there were hundreds of people sitting together watching the movie. Therefore, I don’t understand their concept of VIP seating. I asked others with different colored wristbands what they were for, and they shook their heads confused, as I did. When the sun went down, the food truck lines were horrendous, we used Unilocal via Eat24 to deliver a large two-topping pizza and sodas. We didn’t even have to leave our territory, hubby just met the delivery guy & picked up. The plus side to Bay Meadows(formerly horse racetrack) is that they allow all items to be brought in i.e., picnic baskets, mini tables, chairs, wines, glasses, outside foods, etc. Bring your own everything, no restrictions and security guards checking bags. P. S. It’s sad to see the racetrack demolished for new homes, yet we knew the end was near for such attractions; the Bay Area has grown tremendously. When they moved Marine World, I thought it was truly the end as a child. Though, I survived obviously :)
