I was going to sign up here, but am glad I didn’t. I’m looking for a gym preferably close to work due to my hours. And I like working out with women. And I had done Curves before and really liked it. It’s a good compliment to my at home work outs. I stopped by to sign up and the woman working was new and clueless as to how to enroll someone at the gym. It took close to 45 min of her trying to find papers, figuring out the billing, and handing me a photocopied contract I could barely read, and wasn’t about to sign. Finally she just asked me to come back another day, when anyone else was working but her who could help me. I feel bad, she apologized over and over again, but this is a management problem. If you have a new employee that is so clueless you don’t leave them alone until they are competent. I didn’t want to risk signing a year contract and getting myself into a bad situation with a bad gym, stuck with the payments. I I’ll keep looking.

Now offering ZUMBA on Thursday nights 7−8pm! Only $ 10 for non-members, it can’t get any better than that! The woman who runs this place is super nice along with everyone who works here. Even though Curves isn’t for everyone, I’ve always liked the idea of a womens-only gym and all the members here are very friendly and welcoming.

This place is a major ripoff! My wife liked Curves, but when the Laurelwood Curves owners closed the downtown San Mateo location, she cancelled her membership. We are still fighting to get them to stop drafting her bank account for the monthly fee. Every time we think it is resolved another charge appears. Very poor responsiveness and customer service!
