Guy at the register doesn’t speak English and just points like a Monkey. Plus, you can barely tell their low price is a cash only price when it’s actually 8 cents over.
Go to the Arco across the street or fire that monkey!

By paying a few cents more than arco, I’m doing a huge favor to my car’s engine. Plus, plenti card saves me money, which pays off the extra cents i pay for exon. Their food mart prices are reasonable as well.

First, let me preface this by saying that I don’t normally write reviews… So you know this place must’ve struck a chord with me.
I only went to this station because I have the Plenti rewards card and wanted to see what it’s about. I normally shop Chevron or Shell because I have a high performance German vehicle and she only gets the best fuel.
So I ask the clerk on my very first trip there (I’m bursting with excitement to use my new card),
«Hey, I don’t have my plenti card on me. How do I input my number to get points?»
To which he replies, «Yes. Plenti.»
So I say, «…right, how do I give you my rewards number for it?»
Clerk: «Mmhmm. Plenti»
And it goes back and forth… Until he finally shrugs and says «I don’t know»
Fine. I storm out. Frustrated. I figured is just a language barrier and I shrug it off.
So I come back another day. Having figured out the rewards number just needs to be input at the pump. Cool. This time I only had cash.
I go to the clerk and lo and behold, same dude.
«I have my rewards card pulled up on my phone screen. Where do you scan the barcode?»
… *blank state from clerk*
I see a scanner. I motion towards it with my phone. He nods. Ok we’re communicating now. Getting somewhere.
Nothing happens.
He says «oh, no no. Photo»
Me: «What?»
Clerk: «Photo»
I explained that I don’t understand. And he just keeps repeating «photo.»
I storm out. Frustrated. Definitely language barrier.
I go to the pump and noticed that the price for premium gas is wrong, it’s charging me the credit card price on the ticker. I go back inside. Different guy… Sweet. Doesn’t look at me… shrugs me off and says it’s fine, and it’ll change on its own. Never heard of that before, but okay I go back to the pump… «transaction canceled». Dammit. I go back inside. Second clerk begrudgingly punches in my pump number and my cash amount. Still didn’t look at me.
I’ve been driving for nearly 15 years (pumping my own gas and my siblings for even longer) and never have I experienced anything like this. The fact that the owner of this place hired someone who not only barely speaks a lick of English, (forgivable), and doesn’t know what he’s doing in a customer service position is beyond me. Normally I don’t care as long as I can get what I need. Most gas station attendants I’ve encountered know what they’re doing without needing command of the language. But for Exxon to participate in a rewards program, (that’s painted all of the doors and pumps) while your own clerks don’t know how to use it, don’t speak English and to boot, don’t bother even attempting to help me figure it out, that’s just pretty ridiculous…

Gas station is nice and clean. However, clerk kept giving us a lecture on the evils of buying lottery tickets. …and I didn’t buy any!
