Loved butter pecan seasonal shake and burger with garlic fries. Already had twice this week. Can’t wait to try the next seasonal shake.

Such an amazing place to grab a burger and fries! Saturday afternoon and my boyfriend and I were looking for a quick bite before our movie and low and behold we stumbled upon this place. Great burgers, and super yummy milk shakes! You can’t go wrong with a strawberry shake! Highly recommended to anyone with a hearty appetite! Right off El Camino is a huge plus, can’t miss this spot!

Hands down the best burger joint in San Mateo. Must try fried pickles. My wife usually wants to get Counter, but it has too many choices for me. Also good selection of beer.

Great and friendly service. We had Jacks burger, cheese burger and chicken sandwich. The burger was OK but was thinking it was parity with Five Guys. Certainly the restaurant ambiance was better but burger was at parity. I was thinking Super Duper was much better than Jack’s. A nice place though to bring the family for a nice sit down meal.

I love this place. Best burgers on the peninsula and a good assortment of beers.

I came here mainly for a shake and I completely forgot because the burgers distracted me! Been here a few times and this time I got the regular cheese burger. I really enjoy coming here but this time I brought my bf for the first time who was craving a juicy burger. ALMOST Everything was fine BUT the burgers were super oily which caused it to fall apart. Also service seemed to be a little slow as we had to wait & flag our waitress for refills, our check and more napkins! Other than this I can’t wait to be back!

Holy freaking cow this place is bomb-tasty! I had the Wine Country burger with sweet potato fries. The burger was cooked to a glorious medium rare and the goat cheese complimented it perfectly. The onions and mushrooms added a little something but almost stole the show. The fries, despite delivery time, were only mildly limp and still super good dunked in their sauce. I see reviews comparing this place to In N Out or Carl’s, I am flabbergasted! Jack’s is worlds above those places just in the quality of their meat alone-Niman Ranch meat, people! If you’re looking for a super messy, über yummy, quality burger then this is the places for you.

Portions here are very generous and that’s not it. The food here is delicious! I’m someone who craves a burger about once a month and this place really satisfied my burger craving! Their fries with bacon, cheese, and spicy sriracha mayo was also delicious. The service was very good and there was plenty of seating at around 2pm on a Saturday afternoon. I definitely recommend coming here with a big appetite as their burgers are very filling!

Man oh man! This place is good. I am a self-proclaimed burger Connoisseur and this Apple wood bacon burger was the best burger I have had in a long time. The texture, grease, bacon, everything just fell into place. I never take pictures of my food but this one I had to. The restaurant itself is small especially when lunch hour is upon us. I just sat at the high chairs. I didn’t say bar because its not really a bar. Its right by the chefs and you are looking directly at them. The place was clean and the staff was very friendly. BUTMOSTOFALL… I was in my uniform and I wanted to say THANKYOUAGAIN to the gentlemen that paid for my meal. I always say no but the waitress said he already did. I hope this review finds you so you can see my gratitude through Unilocal. Awesome restaurant, Awesome people. «You will never know how much it cost our generation to preserve your freedom. I hope you make good use of it.»

Very excited to try the much hyped Jack’s Prime. I ordered the Prime Classic Burger and some Garlic fries(because who in their right mind turns down garlic fries). The burger was delicious, messy and wonderful. Their fries are crispy and well seasoned. So why only 2 stars? If you placed Jacks Prime classic burger and a In N Out burger and asked me to taste both, I honestly could not tell the difference. That is not a bad thing at all, I love In N Out. The issue is that a Jacks Prime burger with fries is $ 11, which a In N Out burger with fries is around $ 5. Twice the price for the same quality? Not a fan.

Hands down the BEST burger joint I have ever been to in my life!!! Thats saying alot since I’ve been to alot of burger places… mom n pop shops, in n out, habit, five guys, fathers office, umami, g-Burger…This place gives them all a run for their money. Last night my co-worker finds this place on Unilocal so we decided to give it a try. I got there and noticed the wine bottles and beer on tap and was excited to try some. Luck has it, it was Thursday $ 4 Draft peer pint night. Whiskey Town Express Burger($ 13 bucks + 2 bucks for avocado) — Very tasty. Grilled Mushrooms, whiskey flavored Crispy onions and the 1⁄3 lb burger patty cooked medium. Onion Rings — Crispy with just enough batter to remember its suppose to have onion flavor Dessert: Ultimate Blackout Cake — 5⁄5 This reminded me of a ding-dong with ice-cream on the side. Triple Mousse — 4⁄5 It was too rich in flavor for me so I only had 1 bite

Remember those Carl’s Jr. commercials about the six-dollar burger about how you get the restaurant-quality burger with the fast-food price(or something like that)? Jack’s Prime is like the standard mediocre restaurant burger at the restaurant price. I’d rather eat at Carl’s Jr. Well, maybe not Carl’s Jr(I’ve never had their burgers before), but In-N-Out and Super Duper blow this place out of the water. The original hamburger(I added a fried egg) is nothing special for the price, and the bun is so soft that I couldn’t even pick it up for one bite. I ended up cutting the whole thing up and eating it with a knife and fork, which I’ve never done before for a hamburger. My husband opted for a burger with blue cheese, and he said no onions but add bacon. When he received it, the burger had a pile of onions and no bacon. We flagged down the waitress to make sure the charge wasn’t on there. We were a party of 4, and my husband and I arrived first around 2PM. They wouldn’t seat us, even though there were plenty of open tables, AND as we waited in the front, we saw others walk in and tell them that their dining party was already seated. Thanks for the. special treatment? Yeah no. Skip this and save your money.

Wait… I don’t have a review for Jack’s Prime? How is this so? In my mind I had once written a review about their perfect selection of hot sauces at the table(Tapatio and Frank’s Red Hot Sauce — my 2 favorites) and deep fried pickles for my pickle loving husband. Jack’s Prime is conveniently located by my house and they have a parking lot, although it is usually pretty packed on the weekends. You can usually wait a few minutes and take someone’s spot, or else find street parking on El Camino. The interior is very cute — old school diner style, and the service is extremely friendly. Their burgers are all very juicey and they are all pretty big too — so come with an appetite! I had their veggie burger once when I was vegetarian way back when, and I remember it being one of the best veggie burgers I had ever had. But, since I’ve gone back to meat, haven’t had it again. LOL. The secret to Jack’s Prime is really their milkshakes. Omg… so good! We come many times just to pick some up. Their flavor of the month is always a hit. If we’re ever not feeling the flavor of the month(hardly ever), then we’ll pick one of their basic flavors. You really can’t go wrong with any. Perhaps my only gripe is that they always seem to forget about our order when we come in for shakes only. The other day we waited almost 30 minutes before I finally went up to ask about our shake and the lady went back to get it without any apology. Oh well… I’m letting it go because they are just that good.

I love Jack’s Prime for 3 reasons. The food, the friendly staff, and the cute and spacious outdoor patio that’s cleverly hidden from public view. The food: The burgers are all delicious and I think every single one i’ve ever ordered has been cooked perfectly. I’m sure that if you are dissatisfied, you could always send it back. I do think that you have to know what your tastes are because some of the burgers won’t match up with your tastebuds and you won’t be impressed. I’m not surprised not everybody enjoyed their burgers here, because they do have some novel/adventurous additions to your average burger. For example, I thought the angry cowboy was too BBQ/salty and the oktoberfest special was absolutely gross, but my bf thought they were bomb! :P I also enjoy their milkshakes(not the best, but absolutely delicious with your burger and sweet potato fries). Yes, the sweet potato fries are a must! I love that they have Sir Kensington ketchup which is also rare and my favorite. Staff: Waiters here are so so friendly and are the perfect amount of attentive without being too pushy. The second you sit down, they will bring a little doggie water bowl for you dogs — which brings me to my next point. Outdoor Patio: So quaint and perfectly spacious. I hate covered outdoor patios that are cramped and stuffy with uncomfortable seating but this is not one them. This is perfect to bring your doggie pals to lunch or dinner with you! Brings so much joy to me and my pups hearts: D Bottomline: Warm atmosphere, burger and shakes, cute patio to chill with your friends and pups! I’m sold: D

Came here with a friend today. He said he really enjoyed his bacon burger and that his garlic fries were alright. For me, I the outside of my fried chicken in my sandwich was a bit too crispy(as in it was burnt). I would’ve had it taken back to the kitchen but I’m not the type of customer to do that. Anyways, I just decided to eat my sandwich and aside from the burnt chicken, the flavors of the sandwich were amazing. The actual chicken was perfectly fine(basically just the breaded part of the chicken was burnt). I really enjoyed my meal and I will definitely be coming back a third time.

AHH Jack’s — You had me at ‘ultimate’ and ‘bacon.’ Well, if bacon is wrong, then I don’t wanna be right! I just HAD to visit Jack’s after reading all the glowing reviews. Unfortunately, Jack’s ‘Ultimate’ Bacon(cheddar cheese, tomato, iceberg lettuce and applewood smoked bacon with maple bacon mayo and bacon in the patty) wasn’t quite as satisfying as I had anticipated. Wish that they had actually cooked the meat medium rare. Not bad, but not as profound as they all claim, so I have no reason to come back anytime soon. Redeeming factors are the great service and their hand-spun mint chocolate chip shake. There’s a really pleasant local diner feel here.

Long wait on a Friday night, for good reason! These burgers were delicious! Parking really sucks here though… I ordered the Wine Country, which had goat cheese, cabernet/balsamic onions, mushrooms, a specialty prime sauce, and of course tomatoes/lettuce. They were generous with the amount of goat cheese, which I loved because it complemented with mushroom/onion combo so well. The buns were nicely toasted and soft. The ketchup was different from store bought ketchup, they had a little kick to it and it had a slightly thicker consistency. I liked it with the fries! Service was okay. Yes it was busy but we had to ask for water refills several times. Overall, really great place for some burgers if you’re willing to wait!

Great burger! Everything was cooked to order perfectly. Service was friendly and efficient. Would recommend and will return! Be warned, it is a little pricey for the cuisine, but quality meat and expert preparation come at a cost. $ 51 for lunch for two, with an appetizer and two beers is pretty high. I had the whiskey house burger add bacon, and my wife had the Maytag blue ribbon. Both were delicious. I would probably not order the whiskey house again as it was a little sweeter than I’d like thanks to the bourbon onions.

In for a Friday night dinner… our first time here. We could not determine where to park. There is a lot there, but it’s sided by Jack’s Prime and another business, a pawn shop. It looks like it’s part of the pawn shops property, and there are signs about towing and this being a private lot. Once inside the restaurant, we asked our waiter, and she said, «Yes, you can park there». We parked on the El Camino Real, which was difficult, considering the traffic didn’t care about us parking… one car came too close to us then sat on our bumper. Another car jammed in behind her, and we were lucky, after a wait, that a car two cars in front of us left… we took that space. We went in the door, and we were advised that there’s be 20 minute wait, which turned out to be 7 minutes. We waited outside, where it was cooler and less busy… and we were paged from the door. Cool. Once seated, we enjoyed really nice service, attentive and intelligent. The timing of their questions was good, and we got exactly what we wanted, when we wanted it… or even a bit before we wanted it. The three of us ordered burgers, on with cheddar, bacon, and blue cheese. The buns and veges were fresh and tasted good. But, two of the three of us bit into gristle. In a place labelled«Prime», this was a surprise. One of the stars of the menu was our shared chocolate malt. If you haven’t, try the shakes and malts. Ours was really good, and they give you a lot, a full glass and a 1⁄3 full metal mixing container with a long spoon. The onion rings and caramelized onions were delicious, and I recommend the Bogle Vinyards Pinot Noir… just one of the wines on the menu. Enjoy!

A couple friends were visiting from out of town and after a delayed arrival, we decided to bring them here for dinner. The parking lot is tiny and there are a bunch of awkward to park in spots but we got really lucky that someone was leaving. Being that it was a Friday evening, we expected a long wait but it ended up only being 10 minutes. They have a nice waiting area with a couple benches in a side room. The hosts were nice and our server was as well. We sat down and as two couples, the two girls both ordered the Ultimate Bacon burger with a fried egg on top and the two guys both ordered the Angry Cowboy also with a fried egg on top(none of it on purpose). The four of us also all ordered garlic fries each with our burger. We also split the Irish Nacho fries for the table. The Irish Nacho fries were okay, topped with bacon, cheese, and scallions. It also came with Tabasco mayo to dip the fries in which was pretty good. The Ultimate Bacon was a bit saltier than I had hoped but still good and the fried egg made it better. The garlic fries were a bit of a disappointment as the garlic wasn’t very prominent on most of them. We definitely ordered way too much food but I’m glad we got to try it all.

Great place to get a big burger + yummy shake! An All American joint! I got the El Primo, which was the special burger of the week. It has guac, pico de gallo, fried jalepenos. I also got my patty cooked to medium. The burger was very juicy! Solid burger! Just the buns were a little soggy. The fries were decent nothing special. I’d def. come back if I was in the area

We came here for dinner right after we landed in SF on a Friday night and were pleased to see that there wasn’t a long wait(we also got pretty lucky with parking). We hung out in their nice lobby for 10 minutes before we got seated. We ordered the Irish Nacho Fries(basically loaded fries w/Tabasco mayo), and my boyfriend and I split the Angry Cowboy and the Ultimate Bacon burgers, both with sides of garlic fries and an extra fried egg on top. The Irish Nacho Fries themselves were pretty good but nothing special on their own. But that Tabasco mayo was the bomb. The burgers were huge! The Angry Cowboy was good, but a little too spicy for me(I’m pretty weak when it comes to jalapenos). The Ultimate Bacon was way too bacon-y(I never thought I’d say that…) and salty, but for some reason I still couldn’t stop eating it. The garlic fries were decent, but I wish they had drizzled the garlic oil more evenly on the fries. Overall good experience and good service, too. I came out really stuffed and ready to food coma.
