Walked in at 6am for amazing oatmeal and a great latte. Super nice guy working there too.

Looking for a little gem off the beaten path. A great family café that isn’t the huge loud no seat available chain coffee place. Come and try the Kingston Café. Owners Kerry and Atticus are welcoming, the café has a relaxing atmosphere and the coffee drinks are fantastic. The pour overs are very tasty and the milk is frothed perfectly. You won’t be disappointed. Tell them I sent you. Won’t get you or me a free coffee but they love referrals. Come support an independent!!!

I stopped by because I’ve been reading nothing but good things. Unfortunately, I had eaten already so just had a latte. It is very good. Friendly staff too. Nice and comfortable atmosphere. I’ll eat something next time.

The coffee is delicious and the staff is super friendly. We have tried a few of their breakfast sandwiches and we have liked them all. The ambiance is natural and cozy. You can sit at a table or enjoy your drink on the couch by the window, with the sunshine streaming in. We wish that they were open for Sunday morning breakfast, but completely respect that this family owned business values family time enough to give themselves a day off. We are happy to support this local business and hope it remains in the neighborhood for many years to come.

Both the location and quality of Kingston Café are notable. It’s not in a trendy downtown setting, but rather, by the freeway and across from a school. This does a lot to give it a down to earth, community feel(it’s also 5 minutes away from my office and there’s little rush in the morning ~7:30AM). The interior is very clean and spacious, with ample seating. Beverage-wise, I’ve only ever gotten the green tea latte, and it’s pretty solid. Good tea flavor, not too sweet, and a great consistency. Many of their menu items are organic, and I’m a sucker for the Jamba Juice oatmeal, so I decided to give Kingston’s a try. Be warned: it’s a generous bowl of oatmeal. On TOP of that, you get cranberries, honey/brown sugar, nuts, and other things I can’t remember. I decided to add fruit(strawberries and bananas) for an extra dollar, which made the serving size sadly exceed my stomach & time capacity. It tasted great though. If you’re in the area, check this place out, help a local business, and experience something unique!

A great way to start the day. Coffee is the greatest paired with an angelos breakfast sandwich. Best bacon one can find. Highly recommended, as you can taste the time invested in every bit.

This is a little place located at quiet forgotten street that is not easily spotted. It actually shocked me to find such a divine cute little café by the highway and in a residential area. The place is clean, staff are friendly, and food and coffee amazing! They have a few large picnic style tables that encourage strangers to mingle, it also has a few couches and even board games to keep customer entertains. I had the chime. Noodle soup and the breakfast sandwich which blew me away. The bacon was crispy, eggs fresh, and ciabatta bread perfectly toasted. Truly a hidden gem!

Very very very clean. Extremely friendly staff to the point of me thinking I’m somewhere on tropical island in Thailand, that’s how friendly. Reasonable prices. Great coffee. And a egg bagel was like god came from heaven(high 5 me) and enter my stomach. Finally this is the only breakfast place in the area with 4.5 average Unilocal rating.(:

This café is tucked into a little neighborhood other side of the freeway of downtown San Mateo. The employees are friendly. The drinks are delicious, with perfect foam even with soy or almond milk. I would come again just for a drink.

This place is okay. Employees are very nice and friendly. I got a breakfast sandwich that wasn’t too mind blowing but it was decent. Only thing was the eggs had a grey-ish tint to it that kind of put me off when I was eating it. I have never seen that on eggs before so it kind of freaked me out but I looked it up & concluded that their eggs may not be fresh or they just over-beat it. Still perfectly edible.

Came in just as they were closing. Nice enough to let me order even though they were close. That alone was worth the five stars. Great customer service. Fast service and got my orders correct Price decent. Comparable to others in town.

Casual ambience. Coffees and dairy are organic which is great. A lot of healthy eating options available including hard boiled eggs in shells, fruits… Vitamin C single packs too! I had a house coffee, was very good.

I think these guys are a local favorite and that’s fine but, I feel like someone from out of town should be wary. I was on time constraints and said as much and my sandwich still took 20+ minutes to finish. My soup was ice cold. However, my biggest issue is the menu, the menu that clearly states ORGANIC chicken and ORGANIC cheese. The women prepared my sandwich in front of me using KIRKLANDCHICKENBREASTSTRIPS. Definitely NOT organic. In fact, the only place the word organic appears in the whole place, is on the lying menu. Lies. My sandwich, while filled with chemicals, was tasty.

Such a cute find. We aren’t locals to the area but we were going to a birthday party near there so I thought I’d do a quick search on Unilocal for some nice coffee. It really seemed in the middle of no where to us but such a family friendly café with warm, welcoming staff and tons of books for the kids to look at. The coffee sizes were HUGE. The two cappuccinos we got were nice. The roast is kind of on the tart side but nice. The chocolate scone was a huge hit with our kids. They only had three staff members working and they seemed a little overwhelmed. Aside from that, it was a great find. Thanks again!

This is a hidden treasure in San Mateo! Lovely and relaxing ambience. I tried their blended drink. It was good but nothing great. Will be back again when I am in this area. Just wish they were open late in the evening!

I came here on an early weekday morning with my friend, since this café is located across an elementary school plenty of parents come here to get some coffee /breakfast before and after dropping of their kids. My friend and I were pretty lucky to come in before a line started forming 7:15am, I ordered the betos sandwich(sourdough bread, spicy mayo, tomato, bacon, eggs, and basil) $ 6.50 and a large café au lait with soymilk and whipped cream on top. $ 4.25 The food took 10 – 15 min to come out, which I was totally fine with since this is a family run café and the lady at the register was so so sweet. Her daughter was really nice and welcoming as well. My breakfast sandwich was stacked and huge, the bacon was perfectly crispy just the way I like it. The café au lait was perfect since I just wanted something that didn’t have such a strong coffee flavor. My friend’s turkey basic croissant sandwich was huge, her chai tea latte had a nice foamy layer on top. It had a more basic chai taste, and wasn’t too strong /spicey as I have had at other places. I also enjoyed it because it wasn’t too sweet. Come here if your looking for a quick breakfast/cup of joe

What a great neighborhood café. Since my discovery of Kingston Café(thanks to Unilocal), I consider them to be the«KING» in San Mateo when it comes to cafes. My cappuccino and late always comes out perfect(smooth), and it comes very close to serving a flat white(«A flat white is a small latte,» said the barista at the boutique Workshop Café in London to an enquiring British visitor)! I love their fresh fruits, not to mention their $ 1 cookies to boot! They also serve sandwiches and plenty of varieties on their menu that will tickle the fancy even for the most discerning. Their spacious seating here is just fantastic. They have huge tables for group studies, great for kids with a very comfy sofa, and plenty of natural light. A dog bowl is provided for us pooch owners! Awesome. Kingston Café has been my #1 goto place to get my «high modern» late and cappuccino from now on. They are consistent every time I come in. Their customer service here is impeccably exceptional! I love this place. Cheers ~ :p
