S & M Market

I came here looking for a new leather bondage sling and a pair of nipple clamps. Unfortunately, they don’t sell either of those items here. Seriously, what kind of S & M store doesn’t sell nipple clamps?

This is a dumpy little market that mostly caters to the illegal day laborers. They send money via Western Union and sell lottery tickets and beer. Most of the shelves have dusty, expired products on them.
You usually have to walk through a swarm of 5 – 10 day laborers just to get inside. If you are a female… lord help you. You’ll get nothing but dirty cat calls and whistles from these dirt-​bag losers.
Unless you’re sending money back to the motherland or getting drunk with the cerveza’s, there is no reason to ever go here. Whoever wrote that five star review was obviously smoking crack and hallucinating.

Earlier today I looked online for a MoneyGram spot near my new job to send money to the Philippines and found this place. Actually, after getting lost and being turned down at Safeway’s Western Union because of computer trouble, I ended up driving to the last address on my MoneyGram list: S & M Market whose signage reads «Neighborhood Market.»
A small Asian lady was at the register on an elevated counter, speaking Spanish to two customers. After the two customers left, I asked if her MoneyGram computer thing was working and she helped me, telling me that sending money to my mom was a good thing for me to do. I just told her I owed my mom a lot.
After some small talk, I asked her where the MoneyGram pickup spots were in my mom’s home province and she grabbed a MoneyGram location book. Suddenly another rush of customers came. She laid out phone cards, a pack of cigarettes, and some lottery scratchers, collected money, and gave back change in a few seconds time, helping 3 customers at once. She knew all of them, and they all teased the young man hovering over the chip section. When I was finished with the book I said my thanks and left. For some reason because of my one visit I wanna give this place 5 stars.
