I’m all about Southwest, but when I schedule a 1:35 p.m. flight on a vacation day, I do so because I’d like to get to my destination in time to, well, do stuff. Like I’m on vacation. Get it? Instead, I got the distinct pleasure of spending too much time in SFO’s Terminal 1. My 1:35 flight didn’t take off until 3:15, after it was supposed to have landed. All the Southwest flights seemed to be delayed, and although people-watching isn’t the worst pastime ever, I could have been watching Southern Californians in their native habitat, rather than in the terminal. I will admit, however, that I did find it funny that so many people expected it to be warm here in the summer. It’s San Francisco, tourists; it’s not L.A. The flight itself was fine. The landing was rougher than I like, but I also might be projecting based on a particular Korean airline’s pilots’ skill set.
