Universe of Colors

My daughters had been going for Mandarin for the past 2 years at the Belmont facility and as of January, they suddenly told us that they were shutting down the facility. They gave no notice, and certainly recommended no alternatives but definitely sent along their bill! Very unprofessional and discourteous. Would not recommend dealing with them in their San Mateo location either.

This review is for the French program at the San Mateo location of Universe of Colors.
My daughter attended teacher Nathallie’s French class for almost three years. Additionally, she went to Nathalie’s Wednesday afternoon Intermediate French and Thursday afternoon Advanced French classes, which are after-​school classes for all ages. In addition to local school kids, there are a few home-​schooled kids in the intermediate and advanced classes, so it has a wonderful community feel.
Teacher Nathalie did such a great job preparing my daughter, that she was accepted to every single French school that we applied to! Additionally, two of the schools accepted her for First Grade, allowing her to skip Kindergarten all together. That her French speaking, reading, and writing skills were good enough to skip Kindergarten is amazing, especially considering we don’t speak French at all.
So, if you are looking for a good French immersion preschool, or after school French classes, I highly recommend Universe of Colors!
