Tony has been fixing my sax for years. His services were recommended to me after a really bad and expensive repair experience at the Magic Flute. Tony never tries to «up-sell» and recommend work that is not necessary – he just gets the job done and does so for a really fair price. I have sent numerous fellow musicians to his shop over the years and to a person all have been impressed and satisfied.

I agree with everyone else. Excellent, personal service, reasonable prices, great craftsmanship. He gets quite a bit of work beginning of the school year, but delivered when he promised. Glad I went here instead of a bigger music store. He cleans, repairs, tunes-up your piece and doesn’t mind answering questions, explaining the mechanics of your instrument or giving out tips to keep your gear in shape. His shop is at the very end of Gary Place(cross street of Anderson, under the 580 flyover) which runs BEHIND the Marin Square shopping center in an industrial shop type area. Great guy. Give him your business!

Best service, nice guy, great prices! I had rented a trombone from The Magic Flute for my son, when I went to return it they said it was minimum $ 300.00 to repair. I took it to Anthony’s and his price was $ 100.00. plus he was really nice!!! Best of the best!

I had been meaning to write this much earlier — Anthony, my apologies! My experience with Tony’s shop *almost* makes me wish that my horn would get dropped far more often. I still, actually, three or four months down the road, kind of feel guilty, like I was undercharged. I have a repair tech within walking distance who quoted me almost double Tony’s quote to fix my horn — and that guy’s diagnosis was off base, and would not have even fixed the problem. It was well worth the combo BART /bus trip from Oakland to have Tony work on my tenor — and it’s worth mentioning that mine is sort of an off-brand instrument. I’ve got a very well-made, but fairly obscure mid-50s era German horn. No matter — all in a day’s work for Tony. He struck me as a genuinely nice, decent guy, and a man of his word — which is an attribute that really can’t be measured. But it can be(and is!) greatly appreciated. Strong, strong recommend from me. Shockingly fair pricing. His shop’s admittedly out-of-the way, and not super easy to find, but again, you should find it to be very well worth the effort in seeking out this repair shop. Tony’s a mensch. And there’s absolutely no question who I go to next time I need work done on my horn.

I had a wondeful experience having Tony work on my instrument. Not only did I save myself $ 300.00 but I also thought he was very informative and even played the clarinet for me after he finished the work while I waited. I would highly recommended his service. He seems to be a small guy who enjoys his work, does fine repair and doesn’t want to rip anyone off. I would recommend anyone that needs a wind instrument to seek him out and support his business– he is fair and also a small guy just trying to make it on his own without screwing over unsuspecting people like me.

I’ve driven the GG bridge twice now to get great on the spot service(while I went for lunch). Work was excellent and charges where extremely reasonable. Way less than I’m used to paying for work that can take weeks to get done at other shops. Saxes he’s worked on include an old Martin Comittee tenor I thought I couldn’t affford to repair(based on other shops estimates), and an LA soprano that plays nicely but gets bent out of shape way too easily. He will do what it takes to get your instrument playing without pushing for a complete overhaul. I will be back and would recommend to anyone.
