The quality of their work could have been really good, but I will never know. I went in one day and spoke with a lady I assume the is the owner or manager. She gave a quote and let me take home a few fabric books to look over. I spoke with my father, and even though we were on a tight budget, decided to go ahead with the reupholstery of two Queen Anne chairs. When I went back in the estimate I had been given completely changed. Apparently she completely misunderstood me when were first talked. Their story went from needing 5 yards of fabric per chair and $ 150-​$ 200 a chair in labor to 7+ yards and $ 750 a chair. That is a big enough difference that I had to walk away.

B & B is AWESOME!!! Today I picked up my chairs… I had the seatbacks on 4 chairs from a real 1950’s vinyl & laminate chair & table diner set redone. I am really happy with the work and the price was unbeatable in Marin as the quotes I received show:
1. B & B: $ 80/​seat = $ 320 total
2. Sofa Savers: $ 90/​seat = $ 360 total
3. AAA: $ 175/​seat = $ 700 total
4. Marin Furniture Clinic: $ 180/​seat = $ 720 total
5. Michael’s: $ 240/​seat = $ 960 total
Only quotes 1 & 2 are even reasonable since new re-​make chairs are $ 80 – 100 each on the web! I chose to re-​do my chairs because I wanted to choose my own vinyl fabric to match the table.
IN ALL FAIRNESS… Sofa Savers gave me the first quote but told me they could not do the job for 2 months because they were booked up, so they kindly gave me the names of the 4 other shops. From now on for this type of work, it’s either B & B or Sofa Savers, the other shops are a JOKE!!!
